Do yourself a favor and don't believe any of the positive reviews that are obviously written by ChatGPT. We were quoted for far less money than what we were expected to pay. We were charged an additional $2000 because they never checked with us beforehand if our apartment complex would allow a semi on the property, which they did not, even though I gave them exact dimensions and told them a 10ft U-Haul would suffice. They charged us extra because they had to move our stuff from the semi into the u-haul, which they should'e used to begin with. On top of that some of our boxes were soaking wet with items covered in mold. The people I spoke with were rude and unprofessional. Cheaper does not mean better, especially in this case.

I hired these guys to help me with a move from Florida to New Jersey. I am beyond thrilled with the service I received. My move with Cross Country Movers was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any service provider, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to stay far away. Nearly every aspect of this move was a disaster—from the condition of my belongings to the customer service.

When my items finally arrived, they were in horrifying shape. There was rat poop and urine all over multiple boxes, clear chew marks, and even mold covering items.

Electronics were broken, screens were cracked, and many boxes were crushed beyond recognition. The condition was not only unacceptable but unsanitary and hazardous.

Customer service was just as bad. The salesman, promised he would be with me “from start to finish,” but as soon as he locked in the deposit, he disappeared. He quoted me a low price upfront, then the movers increased the cost for every tiny thing—like the distance from my door to the truck, 1 flight of stairs, etc.

The salesman bragged endlessly about their Department of Transportation record and their “elite drivers,” while steering me away from negative Yelp and Google reviews and only pointing me to Trustpilot, which was pretty sketchy to begin with.

The fulfillment manager, was slightly better but still unhelpful. I had to reach out repeatedly just to get basic updates.

The irony is that the only good part of this entire nightmare was the actual movers at pickup and delivery; those guys worked hard and were respectful. Everything else—the customer service, the communication, the pricing, the storage, and the company culture made this move not worth it.

If there was a 0 rating it would be this. The company quoted low but raised prices before and while packing. We were told that our belongings would not fit on one truck and was charged for a separate truck but when delivered it was all on one truck. Took 27 days to deliver and all boxes were crushed. Most of our belongings were crushed or broken.

Cross Country Movers gave us a lower quote, then ask much higher price at moving spot including both start and end places. It's very very frustrated. We went through a horrible experience! We request that please refund $300 to us.
