Excellent opticians

I used to use Wigmore St branch of David Clulow, and now Cheltenham. Both have been brilliant. I find they are great for understanding complex requirements for glasses, and are able to answer questions clearly and knowledgeably. I am very happy with my glasses and lenses – the prescription, the style and the fit.

Great Customer Service experience at Cheltenham!

I had such a great experience with the David Clulow Opticians Cheltenham branch! I called in a bit of a panic because I urgently needed glasses before flying, and the guy I spoke to was honestly amazing. The pair I wanted was only available in a few stores, and he actually took the time to check which ones had them while I was on the phone.

I ended up driving all the way from Cardiff to Cheltenham before they closed at 5:30, and I’m so glad I did. Once I got there, I saw a few other options and he patiently helped me find something even better suited to me. You could tell he really knew his stuff, super helpful, friendly, and genuinely cared about helping me find the right pair.

Such great customer service from the Cheltenham team. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Loughton branch

I’ve been visiting the Loughton branch for years, and Androulla and her team are fantastic. They’re knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely care about helping you find glasses that suit you perfectly.

The team always takes the time to explain the technical details about lenses and the different payment options, whether you prefer to pay outright or by monthly direct debit.

Our Australian Labradoodle, Ted, also enjoys his visits! He loves meeting the team.

Still waiting my new glasses

After being an happy customer, this time I'm experiencing a very unpleasant situation. I ordered 2 pair of prescription glasses and after more than one month, since I ordered my glasses, I'm still waiting them. I went three times at Wimbledon village branch and every time the glasses had problems on the reading side (variable focus lenses). I have been told that the measurement where wrong so they are now starting from scratch. I don't know who should be blamed for this (the staff there are kind and helpful but.... where is the problem?). I just hope to receive my glasses ASAP as I'm now tired to travel to Wimbledon village so many times without any success.

Welcoming staff, great optician

Staff at DC’s Watford are all very pleasant and helpful. They supported me whilst choosing new frames.
Farrah, the optician is amazing. She spends time explaining the tests and results. Without her care I would not have known that I had Glaucoma, which she picked up very early on.

Great Experience

I've been to David Clulow a few times for my eye checks and my glasses and the service is top notch every single time. I use the Style Service plan which seems like an absolute no brainer to me. You get a really high quality product for a nominal monthly outgoing. I'd definitely recommend!

I've been going to David Clulow for 30 years!

So pleased my friend recommended them!

I have to wear glasses all the time so need to make sure I get the best I can afford for my sight and for my look. I have suffered the less than good service of one of the popular chain opticians and was keen to try something else. Luckily my friend recommended David Clulow in Guildford. I’m so happy with the service I was given, I absolutely adore the frames I’ve got and the interest free credit plan including insurance is the icing on the cake. I shall be recommending them to my friends too.

Awful service

I ordered two pairs of glasses from the Bluewater branch on 26 Sept 2025 and was told they'd be ready in 10 days. After hearing nothing, I called on 11 Oct and was told the standard glasses arrived broken and were being reordered. On 15 Oct I was told both were ready, but when I collected them on 17 Oct, both pairs had faulty lenses causing blurred vision. The optician confirmed incorrect PD measurements and reordered both. This caused major inconvenience as I travelled far and had evening plans disrupted. The overall experience was frustrating, poorly managed, and disappointing.
