Disappointing Christmas family holiday…
Disappointing Christmas family holiday — no response despite three emails to management
Our family stayed at db Seabank Resort over the 2025/2026 Christmas period, having spent more than £5,000 on the holiday. Unfortunately, the experience fell considerably short of what we had expected and what we understood had been promised when booking.
One of the main reasons we chose the resort was the assurance of suitable vegetarian food with appropriate precautions regarding cross-contamination. In practice, we found the vegetarian provision inadequate and did not feel that the safeguards we had specifically asked about were being provided.
We had also chosen the resort because of the advertised Christmas experience and expected special festive programmes and activities for children and adults. We were extremely disappointed by the lack of the Christmas activities we had anticipated. This significantly affected the enjoyment of what was meant to be a special family Christmas.
There were also problems with our initial room. The bathroom was poorly designed, including the positioning of the toilet-roll holder, which made using the facilities very difficult. Our family of four therefore had to repack our belongings and move rooms, taking further time away from our holiday.
What has made the experience particularly disappointing is the lack of response afterwards. I emailed Samis Budhathoki on **18 January 2026** setting out our concerns in detail. More than seven months later, we have still not received a response.
For a family holiday costing over £5,000, we expected considerably better — both during our stay and in the way a subsequent complaint would be handled.
We would still welcome a proper response from db Seabank Resort and a fair resolution of our complaint.
