Customer service - forget the customer
Spent a couple of hours ( as expected ) setting a desktop up. 3 weeks later the whole thing fails.
Desktop packaged and sent back.
Replacement requested.
Said none was available for refund given.
The fact the 9 are on their website with exactly the same spec - now £100 more. They won’t budge.
Poor customer service.
And a waste of a lot of time.
Awful company
Laptop wasn't as described. Response was painfully slow and refund offered was poor. At one point they were adamant they had sent the correct one and it was intimated that I was lying. Awful way to run a business. Avoid at all costs. If buying refurbished, try anyone else! Not sure if Dell themselves endorse them or not but I've dropped them an email anyway.
Battery 50% of designed capacity, no return or refund
Just released battery capacity is only 50% of design capacity and they don’t cover it or take the blame.
Positive experience
I recently bought a Dell workstation, fantastic pice and great condition. I was initially a bit worried after seeing some mixed reviews, but my experience turned out to be very positive. Although I had an issue with one of the parts, (the workstation had optional extra parts which I unfortunately did not require) customer service was excellent—they responded quickly, were very understanding, and offered me a partial refund to resolve the issue.
I bought a £300 laptop from this place…
I bought a £300 laptop from this place in August 2023.
Its already broken. Screen wont turn on. Apparently needs a new motherboard. I've barely used it as I also have my work laptop.
Contacted the company and they said it has 180 day free warranty, and that was that. Pathetic website not to be used ever again.
Worst company I have ever dealt with
Worst company I have ever dealt with. Appalling customer service. Supposed to be English speaking but I couldn't understand them. Faulty lap top which I only discovered after paying for an operating system, money which I lost as they refused to reimburse. Promised a 60% off coupon instead which did not work. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service. I am absolutely incredulous with how my case has been handles. The company is a complete shambles? They don't listen to concerns despite clear email trails. Won't help sort of or fix for solutions. Trick you into returning goods in anticipation of and exchange and then say they don't have the laptop you want to exchange for despite them collecting the laptop.
Tried to call the service no answer. Slow to reply to emails. Sent a return label and arranged courier out of hours so no time to plan to ensure they could take my faulty laptop away.
I mean this is a calamity of errors. They don't respect of know of your consumer rights. I needed a laptop for work and stated this. Then when no laptop was available they just issued a refund but the spec won't be the same as the one I sent back as faulty as I got it in the sale and at discount but they refuse to fix and send back to me. I would like to make a formal complaint but no one actually tells you where to complain to and will post this on line to warn others of how a organisation the size of dell treats it's customers. Totally ludicrous.
Very angry customer

Exactly the same experience
I have had exactly the same experience as Brendan. Laptop arrived, great spec for the price and in lovely condition so no complaints there. However it was previously registered to a well known healthcare multinational and even with a full disk wipe and bios reset the problem persists. If I were that company I would not be happy. I am not happy either. If Brendan sees this review I'd be interested to know how it was resolved as I would like to keep the laptop. The most they seem to be offering now though is for me to get a refund. Really hopeless, wasted a day on the phone to dell and microsoft and trying to sort it out. No effort to fix it from Dell's side other than saying to return it. If I had bought on ebay I would be assuming it was stolen and being sold on by scammers
I'd give it zero if I could
I'd give it zero if I could. Laptop arrived and was still registered to the previous owning company, and it would only accept login credentials from that company. Trying to get it resolved with support was absolutely awful.
Absolutely Terrible Experience with Dell Refurbished - Worst Customer Support Ever!
I ordered a Grade A refurbished laptop from Dell Refurbished, expecting something in good condition. What I received was an absolute joke! The laptop had a massive dent, and when I opened it, the entire body came loose and made awful noises. This wasn’t even close to “refurbished”—it belonged in the trash, not in a customer’s hands!
The nightmare didn’t end there. Trying to return this piece of junk has been beyond frustrating. Their so-called customer support is useless. They sent me a return label after business hours for a next-day collection, leaving me with no time to plan. Calling them is a waste of time because they never answer, and emails take at least a day for a response—if they even bother replying!
I’m fed up. I just want my money back and to never deal with Dell Refurbished again. If you’re considering buying from them—DON’T! Save yourself the hassle and frustration until they figure out how to run a proper business.
WASTE OF TIME & MONEYI wish I had seen these reviews reviews before…
I wish I had seen these reviews before I bought a laptop from them. I paid over £1,000 for a laptop, plus around £93 for 3year onsite service. Within a week I had first issues which Dell claimed was not their fault and so charged me for repair. I have now been in constant contact with them for a few months about problems with touch pad, and now no WiFi. Had several visits from technician who brought the same replacement part 3 times before even he admitted that it would be pointless to fit it, as that was obviously not the fault. Still ongoing and no working computer. Do not waste your money!
Utterly rubbish Dell outlet website
Utterly rubbish Dell outlet website. It's all fake showing high spec machines for a low cost but when you actually check it comes up an error and no stock and that machine disappears for about 10 mins an reappears again. Absolute waste of time don't waste your money with the Dell Outlet
Leaves a lot to be desired!
Leaves a lot to be desired!
my 1st laptop arrived faulty as bluetooth wasnt working. was initally asked to open the laptop to see if i could repair it, still didnt work, this was replaced without too much effort, but took 7 days in total to send back the faulty one and get a replacement.
I was an IT Pro a couple of decades ago so have a fair bit of experiance, when the 2nd laptop arrived the windows image was as out of date as the first laptop, this took just over 8Hrs to complete windows updates and update the dell drivers for the hardware, this is excessive and could easily be sorted by Dell when loading the immage file in the factory. however the bluetooth was still not working again. i couldnt think how to fix this as the on off button wasnt showing in windows, then i noticed the keyboard light was off, looking this up online it said the setting was in the BIOS and then i realised the Bluetooth was disabled in the BIOS too, Bingo! laptop now working, however to expect your adverage Joe to do all this for a 2nd hand laptop is unreasonable, Dell need to look at this and sort out what they are shiping to customers, the only saving grace was Jenny at the customer service team.
Extremely Disappointed with Faulty Product and Poor Customer Service
I purchased a Grade A refurbished laptop from Dell Refurbished UK, expecting a high-quality product. Unfortunately, the laptop quickly developed significant issues that rendered it unusable. Despite being advertised as in excellent condition, the unit was clearly defective, as confirmed by an independent expert.
To make matters worse, the customer service experience has been abysmal. After reporting the issues, Dell Refurbished refused to compensate me for the additional costs I incurred, including the rental of a replacement machine and labour charges for attempted repairs. Their response was dismissive and repetitive, offering no real solutions or support.
I referenced my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, but Dell Refurbished ignored their obligations and refused to take responsibility for the faulty product or my financial losses. The lack of accountability and poor communication has been incredibly frustrating.
I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from Dell Refurbished UK to think twice. My experience has been nothing but stressful and disappointing, and I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Awful product, horrible customer service
Awful. The laptop I bought does not boot correctly and goes into recovery mode as soon as I turn it on.
The customer service is slow, inefficient and don't provide solutions. I have called two times since yesterday, sent two emails and still no answer.
I really recommend buying a new laptop instead of buying Dell refurbished. They are not reliable and not worth anyone's time.
I bought a grade A Optiplex 3060…
I bought a grade A Optiplex 3060 desktop PC. I got a decent price for what it spec'd out for. But the condition was not grade A in my opinion. Found out after several bios errors that the CMOS battery on motherboard was completely dead. SSD had lots of hours on it, interior was not well cleaned had dust film on vents and looked like just a quick air can spray cleaning. OS was a older version of Win 10 so took a long time to get through updates. Personally, I would not recommend over just buying a Dell outlet model which will cost more but get a decent one year warranty instead of 100 days. Many of the off lease models seem rather worn out and poorly reconditioned.
Truly Awful service
Truly Awful service. Described as a * refurbished back to as new condition **Finger print sensor inop and battery only last 2.5 hours on battery saver program with display brightness at minimum. On normal setting its flat after 90 mins Customer service say thats with in tolerance yet a new one lasts 12 to 14 hours. Offered to keep if they supplied a new battery but they refused and wont issue a return label which is against UK DISTANCE SELLING LAWS. Will be putting a paypal claim in. **PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY unless you want pure hassle and zero help!!
Fantastic Laptop, great service - what more can I ask…
I was recently injured and find myself working from home more often and unable to sit for long at my usual workstation until I heal. The laptop I had looked great, but was slow and made working three times as hard.
I was looking for a replacement with the processing speed and reliability, but without the massive price tag and someone suggested looking at Dell laptops as they used them in their own workplace.
I found Dell Refurbished as I was definately looking for a pre-used machine to acheive the price point I wanted to spend. I wanted something with a proven name behind it that I hope will still give me 2-3 years of service if possible.
Although I spent slightly more than I planned, I did so because the laptop's are really holding their money at the moment so everywhere you look, nothing is 'cheap' as such. I found a Dell Precision, with 32 GB of RAM, 500 GB of memory, a super quick processor and good quality graphics card. The price was fair in comparison other companies I was considering, but the reviews on Dell Refurbished weren't that great so I nearly didn't buy. However, the spec was really good and I knew I'd get a 14 day return window, so felt I had nothing to lose.
The laptop was ordered Thursday and delivered on Monday by DHL. My IT guy set it up for me and I'm flying. Its a beautiful machine and after struggling along with a relatively new HP, I can't fault this one at all.
The Dell has real substance with a great display, a fantastic keyboard and the graphics and response rate are just brilliant. I've used the webcam which also has a small privacy cover to protect you when you're not online. I like that little touch.
I'm really glad that I went for it and know its going to last me a fair while. It's fast and can manage multiple programmes running at the same time. It's not buffering or slowing me down and I'm getting through my work more quickly.
I'm a very happy bunny and would recommend Dell Refurbished without hesitation.
Just avoid, not worth it

Dell Refurbished Laptops Not Fit for Purpose
Dell Refurbished Laptops. Most are unable to be updated with the latest updates to Windows 10. My refurbished laptop arrived promptly and was A grade as stated.. However, the laptop was unable to be upgraded to the latest updates in Windows 10 which includes security issues.. (Nov 2020)
Customer Services were dreadful.. Note part of their response by email.
Thank you for your call this morning and your patience,
Following the responsible team feedback, I want to inform you that any similar model replacement unit will more than likely face the same issues in terms of OS updates and the time it takes.
There you are then, proof from Dell they are simply not fit for purpose.. Their response to help was non-existent
I would not recommend you consider a Dell Refurbished Laptop !
