They tried to overcharge me, I argued and paid the original price quoted.

I don't expect a call out fee for a sales visit.
I described the problem over the phone. A fitter turned up and told me I needed a new door without even looking at the door. He had no photos or brochures or specifications. He quoted £1200 for the new door. I declined. He wanted £19.95 call out fee despite only trying to sell me a new door! It only needed cables and rollers.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the visit and the recommendation provided.
While we appreciate that you had described the issue over the phone, it is always better for one of our technicians to assess the door in person rather than rely solely on a brief description given over the telephone. This allows them to inspect the condition of the door, identify the fault properly and advise on the most appropriate course of action.
We are sorry, however, if you felt the recommendation for a replacement door was made without a sufficiently thorough inspection, or if you were not given enough information to support the quotation provided.
The £19.95 charge covers the technician’s attendance and assessment, and there is never any obligation to proceed with any quotation. Customers are always free to decline and shop around if they wish.

Engineer arrived within an hour (Gary? From Mansfield)
Very friendly and knowledable told me straight away the problem and the parts he would need to replace. Quote given and accepted & repair completed in an hour.
Impressed by the professional and efficient way it was handled both by repairer and office for paperwork.

Very disappointed for a basic solution tor a repair £3.9 k quoted for a new battery and control unit I can get less than £500 on the internet . Sorry I was very disappointed

We appreciate that replacement batteries and control units can often be found online at significantly lower prices, but these prices do not always reflect the full cost of supplying the correct compatible parts, professional fitting, testing and the associated parts and labour guarantee.
Our technicians assess the equipment in person and provide a quotation based on what they believe is required to complete the repair correctly. All prices are advised before any work is carried out, and there is never any obligation to proceed. Customers are always free to decline the quotation and shop around if they wish.
We do understand that the difference between an online component price and a complete repair quotation can be surprising, and we’re sorry that on this occasion our quotation did not meet your expectations.
