Great Western Camping is a specialist Outdoor and Ski retailer. We stock an extensive range of clothing and equipment for walkers, skiers and climbers. Our brands include Patagonia, Salomon, Rab, Scott, Head, DMM, Petzl Dolomite and Salewa. We are a family run, independent retailer and pride ourselves in good customer service. Our shop in Dorchester was established in 1986 and has twice been a winner of the Outdoor Industry Association’s outdoor retailer of the year award.

Very impressed with Great Western…
Very impressed with Great Western Camping's speedy delivery and speed of refund when I had to return a Mountain Hardware fleece as it was too big. I purchased a size M, which is the same size as a couple of Mountain Hardware fleeces I have had for ages. However, size M now is now much larger.

Unable to find a decent female size 9 until…
Unable to find a decent female size 9 walking boot anywhere near me, I contacted Great Western Camping who were immediately helpful and responsive. They made a suggestion for a Salewa boot and sent it. It arrived two days later and the boots are a perfect fit. I’m thrilled!
GWC are everything you would hope for from an outward bound company. Will definitely consult these guys again for future kit. Thank you GWC!

UPS were not a good deliverer
UPS were not a good delivered. The first time they stopped outside but did not ring my doorbell. The second and third times they just drove along my street without stopping. They then delivered it to Millets so I could pick it up.
The rucksack was good though - nice and light and lots of pockets

Excellent shop
Ordered walking shoes online and they arrived promptly 2 days later.
I have previously bought many items in person from the shop in Dorchester. Always helpful advice and excellent products.
