Great Western Camping is a specialist Outdoor and Ski retailer. We stock an extensive range of clothing and equipment for walkers, skiers and climbers. Our brands include Patagonia, Salomon, Rab, Scott, Head, DMM, Petzl Dolomite and Salewa. We are a family run, independent retailer and pride ourselves in good customer service. Our shop in Dorchester was established in 1986 and has twice been a winner of the Outdoor Industry Association’s outdoor retailer of the year award.

Best price online and fast delivery
Went hunting online for some Salewa trainers I’d seen in a shop locally. GWC offered the cheapest price saving me £40 plus ordered on Sunday and they arrived on Tuesday. First class service and highly recommended.

Absolutely Outstanding Service From Local Family Run Business
I had a fantastic experience with Great Western Camping. From the moment I walked in, the team was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
I was looking for the right pair of shoes for an upcoming trip to Morocco, and they went above and beyond to help me find the perfect fit. Their attention to detail and genuine care made the whole process easy and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a business that combines expertise with such warm, helpful service!

Terrible
Terrible. I have bought this make and model shoe / boot for about 15 years and I was sent a faulty pair via Great Western Camping. Because the fault is on the inside and cannot be photographed the manager Mark Evan refused to acknowledge that the boot could be faulty but instead suggested it was my feet and my 'customer preference'. His telephone communication was appalling. Furthermore seller unwilling to reimburse postage. I will not be buying from them ever again. Total dissatisfactory business transaction. How dare he suggest (because the boots are uncomfortable, badly made and indeed faulty) that it is my feet that are some how to blame. Outrageous behaviour. Appalling customer care! Would mark zero.

Hello. I have sold and worn Walking Boots/Keen Boots for 42 years and in that time I have never sent any faulty goods to my fabulous customers. I asked you to send the boots back for a refund as they do not fit you. I cannot refund your postage unless they are faulty. Boots that do not fit you would not warrant being faulty, we all have different shape feet so its impossible for every Keen model to fit everyone's foot shape. I didn't think my "telephone communication was appalling" however i did think you was rude shouting at me and using offensive language! I have always tried to provide the best customer service and advice i can.
