With a rich history that began with M Hand & Company and S Lock, the company officially merged in 2001 to form Hand & Lock as we know it today. Over the years, Hand & Lock has remained at the forefront of the embroidery world, creating bespoke designs for prestigious fashion houses, up and coming artists, musicians, interior designers, costume designers, and many other creative professionals. In addition to our bespoke embroidery services, we offer a wide range of services, including military badges and accoutrements, bespoke embroidery events, custom hand and machine embroidery and much more. Our highly skilled artisans work with the finest materials to craft intricate and luxurious designs, ensuring that each piece is a unique work of art. One of our proudest achievements is our School for Embroidery and Creative Arts, where we offer both in-person and online embroidery courses. We aim to offer a wide range of classes showcasing as many techniques as we can, and our expert tutors are here to guide you through every stitch. We also host a variety of guest tutors who bring their unique expertise and insights to our students, fostering an environment of learning and creativity. Very friendly helpful supplier
Very friendly helpful supplier. Popped in here based on another theatrical milliner's recommendation and they were really helpful and friendly despite me cutting it close to closing time. Then ordered some different gold trim online a week later and arrived really quickly, was well packaged & just what I needed too. Would definitely recommend Hand & Lock.

Embellishments
The ordering, payment and arrival of the product was good. I would have liked printed instructions with it. From the picture on Hand & Lock I was expecting a soft embellishment not something that is more like what a brooch.

Course in Goldwork.
This short course was helpful in building confidence and establishing precise techniques for applying goldwork. Our teacher Juliette, was well organised and highly skilled and showed us some of her magnificent work in couture/ fashion design alongside some of the ceremonial regalia for which the company is noted. She also recommended places to shop, eat and some lovely books - alas in French! A very traditional organisation with a no nonsense practical approach, run by dedicated and hard working staff only two minutes walk from Oxford Circus.
