Handmade in Britain is a leading promoter of contemporary British craft. We champion and support outstanding designer-making talent that exists across the British Isles through contemporary craft and design events, an online marketplace, and virtual events programmes. From its inception in 2007, we have stayed true to our original goal of promoting the finest design and craft practitioners in the UK, through fairs, events, and pop-ups. A dedicated online marketplace was established in 2019 which came into its own during the Covid lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 when we seamlessly introduced “Virtual Fairs” for our makers and customers alike. As well as retail opportunities, workshops and business mentoring are also key to our mission to support designer-maker communities. By increasing accessibility, creating new market opportunities, and maintaining the highest standards in the contemporary craft sector, we continue to grow and expand whilst raising our profile within the industry and beyond.

The mugs are wonderful & beautifully made
The China mugs are very pretty and depict famous London sites in a clean modern manner. They were purchased as a gift and my husband likes them very much. They are wonderful reminders of our recent trip.

Fantastic service
This was my first purchase and it will not be my last. The whole process was very straightforward and any queries I had were answered promptly and personally. Would definitely recommend this site, the jewellery I purchased was exactly as stated on the site and I was very pleased with it.

Somewhat nebulous workshop/entry…
Somewhat nebulous workshop/entry tickets booking process whereby it was unclear what the "1 free entry ticket if you book a workshop" mentioned in one email a while ago actually meant or how one went about obtaining that. Separate booking systems for workshops and entry shed no light on that and was confusing. Had to wait a few days before I got confirmation of whether I needed to book entry tickets or not, having booked 3 workshops on 3 days. Found out I didn't need to book entry on any day where I was attending a workshop, but I very nearly booked entry tickets by that time - so glad I held on. Would have booked one of my 3 workshops on a third day if I had known it would have got me free festival entry for that day, though, so a little annoyed about that. These problems could have been resolved through clearer language ("booking a workshop automatically gets you free entry on the day of the workshop" in each email sent prior to the event, and repetition of message, especially af the point of booking the workshops, for example). I've given polite feedback to staff by email. I'm hoping the actual festival will be better managed than the booking process. Looking forward to the event!

Information about the promotional workshop offer was not found because it ended when you purchased workshop tickets. As a gesture of goodwill, we included you in the offer. The issue you were also experiencing was by a third-party organisation.
