Left the dog in pain! Money driven & denied responsibility
our dog got injured in their care. they claim this could have happened anywhere else and denied responsibility. our 10 year old dog needs regular vet visit and poking with needle as a result of this injury and Nicole Mann the rude, patronising clinic director, in black and white said they would NOT even meet us half way in cost for what happened in their clinic. I at no point said I would not pay for my dog treatment. i wanted to know how much responsibility would Harrison's family vets would take for what happened under their roof. Nicole Mann and Floriane ojeil refused to treat my old dog that was in pain. not even given painkillers. Customer care is non-existence. money driven. no care for animals when it comes to real situations like this.
Injured our dog and gaslit us about it
Their incompetence when cleaning our dog’s ears caused an extremely painful haematoma in his right ear, causing swelling and distress.
It took two days for a follow up appointment and when we raised concerns about what had caused the injury in the first instance, they back tracked and denied responsibility, although we had been told it was the vet nurse that caused the injury when collecting him from the original appointment.
They then refused to treat our dog, despite having an appointment, leaving him in pain and distress.
The clinic director Nicole Mann lied about contacting us, was condescending and rude, and left my wife feeling that she was being patronised and dismissed due to the fact she was not born in the UK.
We left our dog in their care, they injured him, lied about it, refused to treat him and treated my wife in a manner bordering on racist/xenophobic.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Completely ignored my dog’s illness
I switched to Harrison’s a number of months ago as was looking for an alternative independent vets which Harrison’s are currently. I found some initial frustrations with appointments via the app (don’t bother) but quickly got booked in via phone, the initial appointment we had was very thorough and a knowledgeable vet. I got a great first impression.
My experience over the past couple of weeks hasn’t been as ideal. My dog had some sickness on 2nd and 4th December, I called Harrison’s on the morning of the 4th for an appointment and was told there was no availability. On the 7th he was sick again so I called and got an appt for shortly later, the vet was thorough and administered an anti nausea injection, unfortunately this injection then caused severe diarrhoea which led to a weekend full of sleepless nights and accidents. On the evening of the 8th my dog’s poo had blood in it which the vet had mentioned would be an obvious cause for concern, I had an appt with another vet on the Sunday evening who recommended getting booked back in asap, I called on the morning of the 9th and got an appointment for late afternoon. Again the vet did a thorough exam and prescribed 3 x medications and provided info on next steps which would be blood tests, scans etc. The vet recommended to book an appointment for 1 week later, I tried to do so before leaving but was advised there was already no availability with the same vet or any others and to call back at 8:30am on the day. My dog still wasn’t ’right’ so I called less than 15 mins after opening on the 16th and requested an appointment for in-depth bloods, I was told all the emergency appts had already gone so I asked what availability was left for the week and was told it would be after Christmas (nearly 2wks later) for a “routine appointment”. I explained there was nothing routine about an in-depth blood test being requested for my dog who was still unwell and which had been recommended as next steps by the vet, I also confirmed the vet had recommended a follow up on this date which I had already tried to book when leaving the week before so the receptionist said she would take a note and speak to the vets either by the end of the day or the next day and get back to me with availability. This already felt like a while to be waiting being conscious of the time needed for blood results and any potential follow on actions with the pending festive period. To note, I had asked about timescales for bloods and on the call was told both ‘a couple of days’ and ‘within the week’.
As far as the follow up call and appointment, I’m still waiting for the call back which never came.
On this occasion I found it difficult to get my dog the care he needed from Harrison’s due to the lack of availability and also think it shows a lot that I have never been contacted back as stated. I appreciate the festive period is busy and vet’s are likely on leave but this wasn’t a great experience.
