Very comfortable bed -
We paid a lot of money for this new mattress and the first week of sleeping on it were a nightmare - it smelt like “wet dog” and the first few nights honestly made me want to heave it was so bad - have a very keen sense of smell - but on reading all the information and talking to a representative - who confirmed it’s the natural wool used and that if aired properly this would totally go within 12 weeks - I was disappointed - but the bed is so comfortable we continued - I left the duvet cover pulled back for a few hours each morning - tried to open the window wider - but we’ve had so much rain that wasn’t easy. It’s been 5 weeks now and I can confirm the smell has virtually gone - I hardly notice it at all - and it certainly hasn’t made the whole room smell or anything - so another few weeks and it will be perfect - we have a very hard bed both sides with a soft built in topper - I am slightly worried after reading some reviews - but will see how the topper works out - I hope if we have an issue the company will keep the wee ur cc wits and replace the bed

We appreciate your feedback and are glad the mattress is comfortable.
As all our mattresses contain natural fillings including wool and hemp, they sometimes have a slight organic odour. This smell is naturally occurring and is not a cause for concern. Given a few weeks in a well-ventilated room (windows on latches where possible - appreciate we are in the colder months now, internal doors left open, and bedding pulled back when not in use) the smell will wear off and dissipate (usually within 2-3 weeks it will start to dissipate and will continue to lessen further beyond this).

Beautiful mattress and being a seasonal…
Beautiful mattress and being a seasonal turn bought just before Christmas, has kept me warm through this very cold winter - however... I am a single person in a kingsize bed but am still having a central body indent problem despite moving over the entire width during the night. Speaking of which, I'm unsure a double or even triple row of stitching helps give you edge support. Because this mattress has none!
Disappointed.

As our mattresses contain layers of natural fillings, you will find that the fillings will settle/dip in the most used areas - this is a normal feature of a natural filled handmade mattress. Turning your mattress (if dual sided) and rotating on alternative weeks for the initial 12-week settlement period (and monthly thereafter) will help to ensure even settlement across the full mattress sleep surface. If you have concerns after this period, please reach out to your retailer who, will be happy to advise and assist you further.

We purchased a complete Divan and…
We purchased a complete Divan and Mattress bed from W.O.B in Bury st Edmond’s Suffolk in December 2016 delivery in 2017 , the fist mattress we had developed a fault in August 2017 which we had a Harrison’s inspector came to look at and immediately when he looked at said it needed replacing which they did in September 2017 no problem. The inspector told us we are fortunate as the new mattress would now come with a new 10 year guarantee from the date of delivery also W.O.B manager told us the same . At the time of receiving our first bed we only ever received a receipt and a new receipt with the second one no paperwork what so ever all we had was the word and promise from the retailer and the inspector.
But unfortunately in December 2025 the same problem occurred on the mattress again, the mattress was an Amber 6700 Gentle & Medium .
We contacted W.O.B Bury St Edmond’s on the 16/01/26 and after a fashion with no much help from the shop I had to phone Harrison’s (Leeds) myself with the reference number F5440: they arranged for their inspector to come round my home on the 18/02/26 .
On Monday 23/02/26 I received a call from the local bed store to say Harrison’s are offering me £73.73 towards a new mattress.
I phone Harrison’s who wanted nothing to do with me as they do not deal with the public only the trade so I would have to take my issue up with the Shop World of Beds Bury St Edmond’s .
On Tuesday 24/02/26 I received a call from W.O.B to tell I had 2 offers Frist on was to purchase a 6750 mattress at a cost of £1749 and replace the faulty mattress or purchase a 10000 mattress at a cost of £1209 same condition.
So the bottom line if anyone experiences the same problem as I have don’t expect any help from Harrison’s.
We were told 100% we had a 10 year guarantee but we found out all the talk were lies .
Now we are left with a faulty bed and some way we have to find £1200 which is impossible as we are both O.A.P Living on a pension.
We never received any paperwork regarding the guarantee from you or the supplier it was delivered unwrapped, I’m surprised as the manufacturer you don’t want to know about the complaint, also as a supposed leading bed manufacturer are we unfortunate or very unlucky that we have had 2 faulty mattress’s in 8 years

We are sorry to hear about the misunderstanding regarding your guarantee and warranty period. Our Harrison products are supplied with a 5-year guarantee and 5-year extended warranty.
Where an issue is raised with us during the warranty period we aim to repair where possible or dependent on the defect, offer an allowance to the retailer which is based on the usage of the product.
We are now of the understanding that the allowance offer has been increased to a retail value and as your purchase contract is with World of Beds, they will of course assist you further.

We are delighted with our new Harrison Spinks mattress. We bought one 37 years ago - it's been brilliant! Talk to the sales representative and tell him/her what your needs are. They are fully trained and can give you the best advice when making your decision. Take time out to lie on one in the showroom too!!

Very happy with new Flaxby Soft Mattress. Although first 2 nights it was a little bit ‘odour ish’, this has now worn off. Very comfortable nights sleep.

Hoping that the mattress becomes more comfortable over time
Purchased mattress from Glasswells, Bury St Edmunds, having had our previous Harrison Spinks mattress for 9 years,
Still getting used to the new one, but not sure that I like how it has very quickly sunk in places. I realise this conforms to body shape, but wondering on the longevity as the previous one did not do this for years.

Extremely comfortable
Mattress is extremely comfortable, looks really well made.
Be aware,though, they are not kidding when they warn you it is heavy!! It takes at least 2 people to shift it onto a bedframe and 2 people to rotate it each week or so as per care instructions.

Disappointed
I have a Harrison Spinks mattress, which I love, but it's getting old.
I decided to buy a topper, knowing it was made of natural fibres.
I've been advised that, due to this, overheating wouldn't be an issue.
However, how wrong was that information?
Right from the start, I was overly hot in bed, an issue I had never had before.
I am on my 3rd night of no sleep due to being far too hot, last night I had to resort to just a sheet as cover.
I contacted HS, who advised that I just needed to let my body adjust to it, and I should adjust my bedding.
I never suffered from night sweats during the menopause, and I now appreciate and feel so sorry for all those women who do.
My advice to anyone getting a topper is not to do it.

Our Enhancers only contain natural fillings which are 100% breathable and there is nothing within which is going to cause body temperature to rise. British wool is soft, springy, naturally supportive, and adept at wicking away moisture. The wool is great at regulating body temperature, keeping you warm and dry as you sleep.
If you believe there is a genuine manufacturing fault with your mattress and have concerns, we kindly ask that you liaise further with your retailer directly, as your purchase contract is with them and they are the ones who will work with you and investigate the matter to reach a conclusion.
Should they wish to call upon our services then they will reach out to us directly and we will of-course assist them.
We take all feedback on board and are committed to improving our services and processes, so please be assured that your comments will be taken into consideration.
