Extremely poor and concerning experience

Extremely poor experience with Health Partners.

The consultation was, in my experience, rude, dismissive and repeatedly interrupted, making it extremely difficult to properly explain my circumstances. I found the manner of the consultation unacceptable and felt that I was not given a fair opportunity to be heard.

The resulting assessment was, in my view, poor quality, incomplete and contained incorrect and inaccurate characterisations of what had actually occurred.

I also have serious concerns regarding consent, confidentiality and GDPR/data protection, including information subsequently being communicated to my employer despite my stated position regarding the sharing of information.

When I raised a formal complaint, the response was extremely disappointing. Rather than properly addressing the substantive concerns about the consultation, assessment, consent and information handling, I was essentially told that there was no recording and that the clinician had been asked to reflect.

Overall, I found the service unprofessional, poorly handled and lacking in accountability. Based on my experience, I would have very serious reservations about using Health Partners for Occupational Health.

How this outfit has achieved a rating…

How this outfit has achieved a rating as high as 2.6 is beyondme. They are the worst OH supplier I have encountered in a long corporate/civil service career.I am encouraging my employer to terminate our contract and would urge anyone reading this not too get involved with them.

Data Thieves

You need to exercise extreme caution if you have the misfortune of having to deal with organisation. Firstly it's imperative you question the 'health advisor' as to their medical qualifications and, if they claim to be professionally medically qualified, ask for their registration number and check it against the General Medical Council register (GMC) regardless of weather the appointment is face to face or over the phone. The likelihood is they will not be medically qualified. Without qualifying this first you will be surrendering yourself to an experiment that is not carried out in line with any clinical guidance.

If you're unfortunate enough to have surrendered your sensitive personal information via their mechanism of experimenting on you with unqualified 'advisors" at the end of the appointment ask the individual what your rights are under the Data Protection Act & GDPR. They should by law explain to you what your rights are but they won't, they're simply interested in harvesting your data at all costs regardless of what incorrectly performed experiment they have carried out on you.

This has absolutely nothing to do with compiling an accurate medical profile or your long-term health and wellbeing, either physical or mental. This is a thinly veiled data grab.

Your rights under GDPR are:
- The right of refusal
- The right to withdraw consent (at any time)
-The right to refuse sharing of your personal data.

If you have unwittingly parted with personal sensitive information I strongly recommend submitting a Subject Access Request (SAR) to Health Partners Group, do it in writing and send it first class signed for otherwise they'll ignore you (despite the ICO stating you can make a SAR request verbally, electronically or in writing. First class signed for is the only way here!) Once you're in receipt of your SAR check what they have 'tested' you for and then check clinical best practice guidance (freely available online) it won't be a present surprise!

If you feel that the experiment wasn't carried out inline with best practice guidance, make a complaint to them highlighting the errors and the lack of professional qualifications the 'advisor' possesses. If the situation reaches stalemate and you're not happy with the outcome write back and exercise your right under the GDPR act (search 'the tight to be forgotten') that will instruct Health Partners Group to delete your personal data in its entirety.

If Health Partners Group have shared your personal information without your consent (from 'advisor" to qualified health care professional, another individual within their group of companies or your employer complain directly to Health Partners Group and the ICO (Health Partners Group ICO registion number ZA205055)

Don't fall victim to this lot.

Health Partner UK are a disgrace and unregulated

They were employed by Police Scotland to complete a report regarding my permanent health condition. They had made their mind up before I even attended the meeting and ignored all my medical team and reports of 7 years. Declaring it was something completely different. There report was full of medical mistakes. I queried these and they refused to respond. I then made a complaint direct to the company and they responded only to a few of my complaint then told me the case was closed. I highlighted what they had failed to respond to on numerous occasions but they refused to answer. They also disclosed my complaint to another person who was not involved breaching data protection. Those involved were Dr Lily Neurologist, Dr Groom and Carole Scott. Please avoid this company at all cost.

Their advice got me fired

After being signed off sick for 2 weeks, I was set up with Health Partners to decide if I was fit to return to work. I had a 15 min conversation on the phone with them where they agreed that I was fit for work. They said they'd send a letter to that effect to my company.
When then letter arrived, it said I was fit but that I could not do overtime, that I had to work at a slower pace and with reduced targets, that I would likely be off for considerable time in the future and that I was disabled. They didn't discuss any of these things with me before sending the letter to my employer. I also came off the medication that was making ill (due to side effects) anyway so I was perfectly fit for work.
I had a senior role within a bank and it was not possible to reduce targets at the time (nor did I need them to be reduced, I was fine) but thanks to the letter, my employer let me go on the basis that they needed someone who could work fully and they were also afraid that I'd end up suing them.
Thanks to Health Partners, I went from being signed off for 2 weeks and then being perfectly healthy, to losing my job. Their communication is also appalling - They wouldn't let me speak to the woman who wrote the letter because it's against their policy. I emailed them asking to retract the letter and they said they wouldn't because it was their opinion (based on a 15 min conversation with a stranger). I made 2 formal complaints to Health Partners asking them to retract the letter and then telling them I'd been fired because of it and no one even bothered to respond to me on either occasion.
I would not recommend using this company. They're supposed to fight for the wellbeing of the employee but they've just made my life so much worse. They can't even take responsibility and apologise when they screw up.

Bad experience

I have spoken to many of the employees of this company who have been really fantastic ... until I received a phone call from Dr. Emslie.
It has been a really long time since I have been spoken to in such a demeaning and patronising way. I initially thought someone was having a joke with me - he talked incessantly, never letting me speak and told me my GP had given him personal information about me which I had not been told about - this turned out to be completely untrue! When I received his report, I thought it related to another client as I did not recognise anything that he had talked to me about - it was completely inaccurate. He was so bad I hope I never have to deal with him again - I feel really sorry for his colleagues.
