Horrible news website. Way too many ads on the news articles making the website extremely slow to load.

Although I find it utterly absurd that most of the reviews cite The Independent as being 'far left' politically - which it clearly isn't, I have to agree that it has descended into utter garbage. There is no copy editor, so even the headlines are misspelt, most of the columnists are awful bores, and there is an extremely pro-lockdown love of peddling endless bad news. Take into account that the majority shareholder is a Russian oligarch and former KGB Officer, and things start to make more sense. Unreadable.

A virtue signalling rag that represents a very small majority of the population which uses lies and poor journalism to stoke social fires and make divisions amongst communities far far worse. The headlines make you laugh though.
At this point I am sure it's primary motive is 'just to be a wind up'.

Poor standard of English, even lower standard of reporting. Virtue-signalling nonsense, time after time. I consider myself centre-left politically; this ‘news’ outlet is so far left it’s more or less in communist territory.

I bought the Independent when it first came out because I wanted to read something unbiased with no political allegiance and for a good many years this is what I got.
I am now horrified at what the paper has become: a Marxist propaganda machine that seems to hate whites and love blacks and employs black journalists to write lies about racism.
The coverage of George Floyd was a classic editorial. Written by a black journalist it said how afraid blacks were of being killed by police. How about white people being killed by the police? How about blacks killing white police officers? How about black on black crime that kills more blacks than anything else? American blacks should be more scared of each other than the police. And turning into an icon a thug who spent five years in jail for armed assault with a deadly weapon. If he is your hero, you should die from shame.
The paper is now just a biased BLM propaganda machine.

Tried to make a complaint about the news outlet quoting a racist comedian as a supposed authoritative source but was totally fobbed off by the Independent's Richard Best.
He was blatantly defending quoting - David Baddiel - who had Blacked-up mocking Black ethnicity and invented the slur 'Pineappleheads' for Black Britons wearing traditional Afro-Diaspora locks & cornrows. Black complaints are simply deemed second class.
By contrast if you’re a member of a white ethnic group, doing propaganda for Israel's white colonial conquest and apartheid domination in the middle-east, then you can make unsubstantiated anti-Semitism smears about Black/Indigenous anti-colonial activists, with the Indy’s full support.
The Independent is just a racist propaganda machine.

Screw them for blasting full-volume video ads at me at their website.

Would have rated it lower if I could. Often misleading/dishonest headlines makes dishonest and deceitful claims. No credible complaints policy.

Propaganda and total nonsense covering US impeachment. Coverage was completely incorrect as Democrats falsified evidence. I wouldn't purchase this newspaper.

The figures say it all 88% bad and only 5 % excellent, who would want to work for a company who can only achieve results like this . I can only be the 5% and they must be brain dead. Time they gave up and shut down.
