Very Poor Experience with Judge & Priestley

I was recently involved in a property transaction as the seller, where Judge & Priestley were acting for the buyer. Although I was not their client, I had direct and repeated exposure to how the matter was handled or mishandled by their representative, Mrs Elizabeth Besufekad.

From the outset, the process was plagued by consistent delays, poor communication, and a lack of urgency. Simple enquiries and standard conveyancing steps went unanswered for long periods, even after multiple follow-ups from myself, the estate agent, and my own solicitor. This lack of responsiveness severely disrupted the transaction and ultimately contributed to the sale falling through.

These concerns were not mine alone. Both the estate agent and my solicitor, experienced professionals in their own right, independently raised the same frustrations about the way Judge & Priestley handled the buyer’s side. This was not an isolated oversight but a sustained pattern of disengagement and inefficiency.

As someone familiar with how property transactions should be conducted, I can say without hesitation that the level of service demonstrated in this case fell well below a basic professional standard. When legal support is slow, unclear or inconsistent, it creates real financial and emotional consequences, and that was certainly the case here.

With complete candour, I would not feel comfortable recommending Judge & Priestley to anyone involved in a property transaction. Based on this experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution.

Disappointing experience poor communication and delays.

I would not recommend this service. We experienced repeated delays and a complete lack of communication during house purchase, despite there being no chain involved. The process was far more stressful than it needed to be.

I moved into my flat on 14th December. Judge and Priestly paid my service charge to the incorrect company. It’s now 6 months later and despite me chasing numerous times it still hasn’t been resolved! Now having sent another email to chase this up I have been told by the company that they “don’t want to insult my intelligence”!!
Wouldn't recommend this company unless you’re looking for basic incompetence and to be insulted.

Took 3 years from grant of probate to disbursement of funds from my mother's will which was a very simple estate then took another month more due to miscalculation on tax without even apologising. If I could give zero stars I would!

Good Communication and it didn't cost the earth (sale of property)

We sadly can't recommend these solicitors as they were slow to respond to questions or provide updates during the conveyancing process. We ended up receiving more timely information from the sellers and the estate agents than our solicitors. The solicitors also tended to only reply to some of our questions and we had to repeat several questions multiple times. We also found out later they had shared some incorrect information.

Why is it impossible to get in contact with these solicitors? I sent multiple emails made multiple phone calls and nothing is getting resolved? Kerry Jaeger needs to be sacked putting people's lives on hold because she doesn't want to do any work

Dreadful! I've been trying to get a lease extended since June 2022. Their staff keep leaving and not passing the information to anyone else. I've tried to make a complaint. So fingers crossed. But give them a wide berth!

From start to finish the level of service, attention to detail, & communication in relation to our house sale was abysmal, with our solicitor finding ways to blame others and gaslight us for her lack of engagement, errors, and general poor service.
At each step of the sale of our property we had to chase for engagement, with emails and phone calls going unanswered. We got to the point where we had to escalate to senior partners in the firm to get any engagement and focus from our solicitor.
There was an abundance of errors and issues with contracts and documentation, from the first set of forms we received, to the contracts containing errors, the TF1 forms needing to be returned for correction (which our solicitor had signed off as correct), and the completion statement containing basic errors.
There were delays and oversights in the enquiry process that we believe delayed our exchange, and errors with the bank transfer form when we were asked to review it.
Our recommendation is to avoid - we will not be returning customers.

Had dealings with these solicitors via my insurance company. The claim was going to go to court. I was told that if I booked a day off work I could claim back my loss of earning. The defendant pulled out the day before. It was too late to cancel my day off. I was then told that as I did not attend court then I could not claim back loss of earnings.

I put in a complaint which was reviewed internally, was told it was not within the companies control. My point they seemed to have missed is at no point was I told that even if I won that there would be a scenario where I was out of pocket a days pay.

So be warned if you are not fully made aware of the risks when attending court then the company will not take any responsibility. Would never use or recommend the firm.

Terrible first experience - rude receptionist unhelpful. Completed an online enquiry which was ignored. I then made a phone call, the receptionist was short, unhelpful. I would not consider them for any future business.

Terrible solicitors, my insurance paid them for a claim, but they "couldn't find the payment", and fraudulantly sent me a county court claim, trying to get paid twice! They are fraudsters, no regard for the innocent, they should be banned from practicing! The stress they caused, depression, my menal health and can't be bothered to apologise for their lazines and stupidity

All went good and it is fabulous to do all communications through email so each party could work on tasks at their convenience . %100 recommend to anyone
