Laburnum Boarding Kennels & Cattery Avis 12

Was so nervous about putting Keith in the kennels for the weekend however all of the staff completely put me at ease and Keith has come home today happy as ever. Thank you so much and Keith looks forward to staying with you again. Can’t thank you all enough ❤️

I boarded my cats here for a week in July 2025 and at that time they were well cared for, so I felt comfortable returning in January 2026. Unfortunately, this second experience was completely different and very upsetting.

When I collected my cats, I was shocked by the condition of their accommodation. Their litter tray had not been emptied, there was faeces on the floor, no water or heating available, and their cat basket was soiled with faeces. I had also specifically requested that my cats only be fed the required daily amount, yet all of their food had been dumped into the kennel and the food container left on the floor.

I asked staff for an explanation but was told that no one could account for what had happened because everyone “hadn’t been on duty.” This lack of accountability, combined with the conditions my cats were kept in, felt like complete neglect.

Given my experience, I would not recommend this cattery unless significant improvements are made to care standards and supervision.

We have recently used Laburnum for our two dogs one of which is a puppy and the other an 8 year old dog. Now that our kids have taken on responsibilities and can’t really look after the dogs, using Laburnum gives us much more flexibility. We were nervous as we hadn’t used kennels for a number of years but we didn’t need to be. We started off putting them in for an afternoon, then two nights and then a longer term of 8 nights. The team at Laburnum are superb and all seem genuinely to love looking after the animals. Our dogs were happy to go and came back happy and healthy and a tad excited. No reservations at all about taking them back in future. We know the dogs are in good hands and will be well looked after. Special thanks to Jess for looking after our two.

Can't speak highly enough about the Laburnum team, super friendly and knowledgeable. Our two greyhounds have just had their first stay and were absolutely fine. [Unlike myself, who was a nervous wreck]. What really struck and impressed me was the levels of cleanliness and our dogs came home without that doggy smell we have experienced at other places. Lovely rural location, lovely caring staff. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend.

I would recommend Laburnum Kennels to my friends and family it’s a lovely place to take your animals when you go on holiday staff are really lovely I would not take Suki anywhere else x

LABURNUM KENNELS AND CATTERY have been amazing looking after our 2yr old German Shepherd. From the start doing trial days to settle him in prior to his stay, and all the care and love they have clearly given him on his jollies, and we can go on holiday knowing he's well cared for and looked after. A big Thanks especially to Nina and Hayley for working with him to gain their trust and their trust in him ❤️ xx

Just picked up our 2 labs , what can you say other than what excellent service and care our dogs received during there stay, it's a nice feeling going on holiday aboard knowing your dogs are well looked after,

This was the first time we had left our dog (very energetic 1 year old black American lab) anywhere and he came back very happy, what more can you ask. They were great with the booking process, all my enquiries, handing him over and handing him back.

Next time we go on holiday we will be using them again!

I cannot recommend this cattery enough. I always felt our late cat Belinda was safe and really well looked after there. They even managed to take the most amazing pictures of her too which we now cherish now she is gone. I also treasure how our pet’s name is on their memory tree. I miss going to see them as they felt like family but I’m sure if I went for a chat I’d be welcome. Highly recommended!
