Barkers k9 Hydrotherapy Avis 12

The team at Barkers are absolutely lovely - both expert at what they do and warmly welcoming to dogs and owners alike! Offer great advice too to support in between sessions. Davey our dog is a tripawd and needs both pool and massage sessions which he is greatly benefiting from. Thank you !! Highly recommended.

My rescue GSD Caesar had hip dysplasia before I adopted him...Barkers diagnosed that he had muscle wastage in both rear legs, probably due to poor rehab post operation, and he was not using his legs properly. He also has arthritis in a front leg...They started him off in the treadmill & after several sessions we have noticed an improvement in his movement...All of the staff that have treated Caesar have been brilliant..They know exactly how to calm him & devote so much time to make sure Caesar enjoys his sessions...Last Thursday they managed to encourage him into the pool for his first swim session...They never put Caesar under any sort of stress and gave him plenty of encouragement & showed so much patience to get him into the pool....The staff are always so friendly & upbeat..It is worth every penny as far as I am concerned..

The whole team were amazing, we had many therapists working with our puppy and they were all brilliant and so patient and caring. As a Cocker Spaniel puppy he was extremely excited to attend these sessions which sometimes made the treatments difficult but the team did not mind and were amazing in how they dealt with him.
He is much improved due to the session and at home exercises the team sent us home with.

Have to say that Barkers is brilliant. My dog has hip dysplasia and was going to cost me over £15K to get them fixed (with no guarantees), however, my dog is doing so well with the swimming. The instructors pay so much attention to my dog, they remember her when she goes back, can tell any difference in her swimming and make her do particular exercises to correct a weakness etc. My dog is now over 4 years old and runs like there's nothing wrong with her, her hips are stronger along with her legs. I'm always quick to complain but I can't with Barkers, all the staff are so welcoming and helpful but most important is the fact that they care about each and every dog.

Bear has been going to Barkers regularly for a number of months now. The team have been fantastic. He was pretty nervous going into his first session but with their endless encouragement and patience, he now can’t wait to get in and loves his swimming. Bear has has an ongoing shoulder issue and I’ve notice this has improved now that his swimming is stronger. When he does get a twinge, his recovery is much faster. Highly recommend!

My Maltipoo teddy loved his weekly underwater treadmill sessions and also had physio at Barkers k9, I could see a definite improvement in his legs which were very weak to begin with.Jo and her staff were very helpful and friendly and we will definitely continue our sessions after the summer holidays!

After our dog had double cruciate surgery, his recovery was much slower than anticipated by the vet. Since we got the go ahead to start hydrotherapy with Barkers K9, his progress has been immense!! The whole team are very professional but also very empathetic of my dog’s anxieties where water is concerned, and they also helped to reassure me, the anxious dog mum!! They have guided us through, between physio and hydrotherapy sessions which can be in the pool or the water treadmill. They also give advice on what to do at home to help with rehabilitation. I particularly like that Barkers K9 only treat one animal at a time! My dog can be reactive or very nosey so he doesn’t need the distraction of other dogs around when he is in therapy! Very happy with our experience with Barkers K9

After a very thorough assessment with Harriet, the Physiotherapist, our Border Collie, Artie, was recommended to have hydrotherapy treadmill sessions for a possible diagnosis of cruciate ligament disease. Jo and Kate took time to ensure Artie was comfortable with his surroundings, before introducing him to the treadmill. He has had a couple of sessions which he seems to have taken to well, and is currently not limping. He is much happier in himself and
we will continue treatment to build up his rear leg and general core strength.

Bella loved her swimming experience today Kate and Jo spent time making sure Bella was calm and happy in the water before letting her swim. She loved it and will be back soon!

My Bernese Mountain Dog pup has made so much progress on his strength and fitness, from working with Kate, in both treadmill and pool sessions. He’s forged a real bond with her which makes the weekly sessions so much easier for everyone involved - I’m sure Kate loves the ear licks between sets too!
He was looking at surgery on both stifles as a young pup, but building strength in his hind legs has helped him avoid surgery, which was such an incredible relief.
So glad we started these sessions, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future
