A very mediocre experience
Despite positive reviews, my experience with the Leaehold Advisory Service has been rather mixed. I had a telephone call with them which was very helpful. I followed that up with more details, as requested but received a reply that did not address the specific question, in addition, the reply went off at a strange tangent that bore no relevance whatsoever to my query. I wrote again, and received an email chastising me for exceeding the 500 character limit (my word count, however, reveals the entire text of my message to contain only 48). In summary, far less help than a free half hour consultation with solicitor. I have found the Leasehold Avisory Service avoident and not actually giving very much in the way of advice which is a great shame as there is a societal need for the service.

Invaluable organisation
Invaluable organisation. Really well informed advisors. There are some issues which I am having with a management company for a leasehold property and I am now much more confident about my legal rights after contacting this organisation.

Help given was useful. Constant retpeated breakdown of lifts causing imobile occupants to be stranded for days.
Help given was useful, Less urgent defaults have been attended to, however not the most important from the risks and fire hazzard point of view.
Occupants with mobility problems stranded repeatedly for days.

I had asked for specific advice about…repairs to a roof
An underwhelming experience, I had asked for specific advice about the application of the Building Safety Act to the problem. The advisor had nothing to say about this - apart from organising another consultation - and provided a general overview of possible next steps (which were so general, I already knew them). At least the advisor phoned at the right time.

I left the consultation feeling more confused than when I arrived. The session felt rushed, and I did not feel my concerns were fully explored. The advice given did not appear to have a clear legal basis, leaving me without the clarity and confidence I was hoping to gain.

Clarity and Real Support
Leasehold Advisory Service is a lifeline in the treacherous minefield that is apartment living. (although, really, it is amazing there is need for this service. the problems we take to them simply should not exist. I dont understand how they do)
