The "virtual assistant" poot
The "virtual assistant" failed to answer requests for taxation documents. It the referee me to a supposed real person, but a long wait until any reply received.
Avoid them
Avoid them, I had no choice due to Halifax merging but I am looking for alternatives!!! Horrible customer service. Poorly handled, they don’t care
Get rid of robot and employs humans
My CC is locked and I’m unable to use it .
I visited in store but they can do nothing apart from give you the contact number.
Rang and the typical robot says use the Message service on the App, so I did and guess what it does not work.
Back on the again waiting for 20 minutes for a human to answer. Suggest they use more humans in instant you ring to speed the time wasting process up. The robot message says we are busy at the moment, wonder why.
I wish i can give below one star 🤔
No problem at all
Samantha and Kelly Dixon (Christchurch) - excellent service from both. Dealt with a wide range of issues most satisfactory, in a very friendly manner.

Poor experience of trying to open a student account. Confusing messaging, it seems they don’t know what their own policy is. One person says one thing and another something completely different. Please be clear and accurate when giving information, don’t lead people down a blind alley. After reading the reviews on here, it seems we’ve had a lucky escape not banking with them.

Wrongful accusations of improper account usage
Accused me recently of using my personal bank account for business purposes (not the case).
Disgustingly defiant, yet wrong in their allegations. Closing account as a result
No cashiers in the branch anymore
No cashiers in the branch anymore. Ridiculous wait times to talk to an actual human.
Came in for a bank statement over an hour ago and still waiting.
Why do we give these people our money?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to Barnaby
I have had a fantastic experience with Lloyds, particularly thanks to Barnaby, who has been absolutely brilliant throughout the process.
I have had a couple of calls with Barnaby, and he was always incredibly accommodating with my availability. He was consistently professional, polite and patient, and made the whole process incredibly easy.
Banking can sometimes involve a lot of jargon that I don't necessarily understand, but Barnaby explained everything clearly and in a way that actually made sense to me. At no point did I feel overwhelmed, confused or like I was expected to understand things that weren't familiar to me.
He helped me open a new credit card and transfer the balance from my old credit card, and the whole process was completely seamless. Everything I needed was explained, everything was dealt with efficiently, and ultimately it was just faultless from start to finish.
Barnaby is a real credit to Lloyds. It's genuinely refreshing to receive this level of customer service, and I really hope this feedback reaches him because he deserves to know how much his help and professionalism were appreciated.
Thank you, Barnaby! ⭐️
Bad since forced to move from Halifax
Unfortunately a bad experience since being forced to switch from Halifax. I fell victim to a phishing scam convincingly pretending to be from a hotel I’d booked, tried to contact the bank immediately via their 24/7 messaging, got the reply that no agents were available and to call. The link provided to call didn’t work. Got the number from online and was put on hold for 30 mins. Eventually called back and got to speak to someone, explained the situation and was asked if it was really a scam ("don't the hotels do that?"). What?? The person I spoke to didn’t seem particularly interested. Seriously considering moving banks now, I’ve never known the like in my life.
I need an in branch appointment
I need an in branch appointment. They make a lot of noise about how they can help one in such appointments BUT there is no means of making an appointment for a business account. They also list branches local to me in which appointments can be made and every single one of those branches has been closed. I am looking for a new bank to transfer to. This lot is past its use by date
Lloyds transferred my money into an…
Lloyds transferred my money into an account they would not let me access
I have rarely encountered such an astonishing level of incompetence from a financial institution.
I switched from TSB to Lloyds. Lloyds proceeded with the transfer of my money into the new account, yet I was then informed that I could not properly access that account because I had to wait for an activation/security code to arrive.
So, to be absolutely clear: Lloyds was apparently capable of taking control of my transferred funds before ensuring that I had functional access to the account receiving them.
That is utterly unacceptable.
A bank handling a current-account switch should have adequate systems and controls in place to ensure that a customer is not effectively deprived of access to their own money as a consequence of the bank's onboarding process.
From a consumer-protection perspective, this raises serious questions regarding foreseeable harm, customer access, operational competence and the FCA Consumer Duty requirement to deliver good outcomes for retail customers.
The foreseeable outcome of transferring someone's money into an account they cannot access is obvious: the customer can be left unable to use their own funds, make payments or manage their finances.
This is not some minor inconvenience or cosmetic problem with an app. It concerns access to a customer's money.
I am now travelling to a Lloyds branch specifically because of this mess, and I am seriously considering closing the account essentially as soon as it has been opened.
What makes this particularly absurd is that I moved away from my previous bank because I was tired of banking systems creating unnecessary problems with access to my own money. Lloyds has managed to demonstrate almost immediately that its own procedures can be every bit as dysfunctional.
Grossly incompetent onboarding, appalling customer experience and a process that appears completely unfit for purpose.
If a bank cannot ensure that a customer has access to an account before moving their money into it, something is fundamentally wrong with that bank's procedures.
One star. Absolutely disgraceful.
Not recommended
I would give 0 stars if i could, they closed my account abruptly with no notice.
Worst
Worst, they put you on a performance plan and then ended up extending it not because your performance was bad but because they want to support you. For them the best way to support you by putting you on a performance plan. That’s their agenda.
Extremely difficult to contact.
It is impossible to speak to anyone at this bank unless you want to spend ages on the phone or going round in circles with the chat box. Absolutely horrendous to try and get a simple enquiry answered. I have tried to contact twice, once about my new card that hadn't showed up and the same for an additional card holder.
These are questions that can not be answerwd by the help section or by the chat box. Absolutely frustrating and massively time consuming. Not to mention the dreadful "happy messages" that are repeated over and over and over and over again like the customer is some sort of moron. I hate this bank now.
Day after bank holiday
I was told because it was the day after bank holiday today that it was busy and I would be waiting at least one hour. I left without doing what I specifically came to do. People are busy and can’t keep coming back to suit Lloyds, they knew it was going to be busy so why not put more staff on, my goodness they’ve made enough profit this year on our backs, yet we get treat like this. Lloyds Huddersfield atmosphere has been hostile for a long time now, unhelpful staff, attitudes , dreadful
Come back Halifax please
Halifax were always great, experience with Lloyd's so far is really poor. Been chatting with them for 7 hours and got absolutely nowhere. Halifax you could just phone!
