Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are genuinely sorry that certain aspects of the trip did not meet your expectations, we would like to provide some factual clarification.

Regarding the Foz do Iguaçu – Rio de Janeiro flight, as outlined in the package details, internal flights included within the tour are scheduled services and are not guaranteed to be direct. The flight departed Foz do Iguaçu at 10:00, arrived São Paulo at 11:40, departed at 13:20, and arrived in Rio at 14:20. Including transfer time to the airport and arrival formalities in Rio, reaching your hotel within approximately six hours from Foz do Iguaçu is considered very efficient for domestic travel in Brazil, particularly on one of the country’s busiest air corridors. Direct flights do operate on limited schedules and are typically available at an additional supplement. The routing booked was commercially standard and time-efficient.

Any schedule adjustments or operational changes made on the day are solely at the discretion of the airline and are outside our control.

With regard to the 6:00am departure for a 10:00am flight, Brazilian domestic airports recommend arrival 2–3 hours prior to departure. The transfer time from Iguaçu to the airport is approximately one hour. Factoring in potential traffic and airport procedures, the departure time was scheduled to safeguard against the risk of missing the flight. While early starts are never ideal, our priority is always to protect onward travel and avoid significant disruption or additional expense for guests.

Regarding airport check-in, we would also like to clarify that we do not advise guests to check in at the airport unless required by the airline. Our joining instructions, which were sent to all customers including yourself, clearly state:

“Online Check-in and Boarding Passes:
Some airlines now require passengers to check-in online and print their boarding passes before arriving at the airport.
There may be fees associated with checking in at the airport, or it may not be possible in some cases. Ensure you check with your airline regarding this policy.”

Online check-in is the responsibility of passengers unless otherwise specified by the airline, and any airport check-in fees are imposed directly by the airline, not by Lumle.

Regarding Rio de Janeiro sightseeing, Christ the Redeemer and Corcovado Mountain were included as part of Day 9. Sugarloaf Mountain is clearly listed as an optional excursion scheduled on Day 10. These are separate tours operated by local suppliers. Due to timing, traffic conditions, and operational logistics within Rio, they are not combined into a single day. The optional Sugarloaf excursion operated as scheduled.

We are sorry if there was any confusion regarding overlapping areas visited during touring. Rio’s principal highlights are located within similar geographic zones, and when travelling between attractions it is natural to pass through or revisit certain scenic areas. However, the tours themselves are structured as distinct experiences.

It is certainly not our practice to select services purely on cost at the expense of guest experience. The Lumle Difference is built around customer-first service, quality at an unbeatable price, and delivering more than just a holiday. All transfers, hotels, and excursions operated as planned, and support was available throughout your journey.

While we fully respect that travel expectations can vary from guest to guest, we are confident that the itinerary operated in line with the published programme and that all services were delivered as outlined.

We remain proud of the quality of our Argentina & Brazil tour and the positive experiences many travellers continue to enjoy on this journey.
