Top notch customer service
Our trip did NOT go without hitches. Happily the staff at Madame Vacances was professional, polite, and made excellent redress. When things go wrong the last thing one wants is the double-whammy of bad experience plus bad customer service. Kudos to Madame Vacances for recognizing and acting upon that.

The booking experience was perfect.
This review is solely about the booking experience - I've not been to France yet. The booking experience was perfect. On booking I received immediate confirmation via e-mail. Later I decided to upgrade to a slightly larger apartment and e-mailed to ask if it was possible. In a very short time I received a call from a very courteous and obliging man called Duncan who dealt with the upgrade for me. The modified booking forms again arrived immediately. If the location is half as good as the booking service then it will be fine.

We booked a ski apartment over the Easter holidays with Madame Vacances. We were delighted with our accommodation and our rep in France but had some sketchy experience once we had made the initial booking - difficulty getting a precise description of the location of the apartment, questions over the photos shown and also directions where to find it particularly - to the point where I wondered if I had encountered an scam. I think it was just poor admin around the booking process and once we knew the building really existed all went well. MV staff all v pleasant on the phone.
We have booked again for Christmas with MV - enough said!

This was by far the easiest European lodging reservation I have ever booked. As a travel agency owner, I deal with foreign booking engines daily. The ease of use and automatic translating feature makes it possible to communicate even if you don't speak the local language! Efficient and helpful
So far, so good! I was pleased with their quick response to requests made in my booking. The apartment is booked a year in advance so I can't comment on that yet but - fingers crossed!

Not good
The website refused to accept my credit card details and then patronisingly told me to check the details and do it again. This too was refused. When I telephoned the number quoted, a recorded message spent some time telling me the opening hours, which I was well within, and to call back later. When the operative did call back to the number I had left she told me that she couldn't accept my call 'because I was on the other line!

Regarding your card being refused, we have recently made some changes to our booking system and unfortunately as a result we are experiencing some issues with payments. We are working hard to resolve these problems. I'm also sorry to hear that following the payment isssue you were unable to speak to us immediately. We are small team and therefore unfortunately we cannot always answer all calls immediately. We do however do our best to reply to missed calls and answer messages as soon as possible, as my colleague did so in this case. No friction yet. Jury's out until we return
Difficult to say before the holiday. Booked a hotel in Meribel, the Hotel Le Mottaret, for next week with these nice people. The Tripadvisor reviews of the property warn of very cold lounge in the hotel and no drying facilities in the cold wet ski room. I asked nice Val at Madame Vacances if she could ring them and ask them to turn on the heating, lets see what happens, scathing review of glowing praise.......

Many thanks for your positive review of your booking experience with Val and for your comments regarding the lounge and the ski equipment room at Hotel Le Mottaret. it is true that earlier in the season we had some problems with the newly installed radiator system however to my knowlegde this has been rectified and the lounge should now be as warm and cosy as ever. Regarding the ski room, you are correct in that there are no drying facilities, however please note that we don't adverstise the ski room to have drying facilities. If you are concerned about your the warmth of your ski boots you are more than welcome to store them in your room, where there is ample space in the entrance hall. Please be aware we have recognised that we need to update our ski storage facilities and as a result it is scheduled into our hotel development programme to be updated in the coming seasons.
