This review is for Marriott hotel
This review is for Marriott hotel, delta Hotel, Tudor Park Country Club Maidstone.
We couldn’t sleep at all on the second night because the radiator made noise continuously until morning. The spa experience was just as disappointing — the area was dirty, and at the start of our massage the calming music suddenly stopped, leaving us listening to drilling noises instead. It felt more like we were on a construction site.
To make things worse, the masseuse rushed through the end of the session, handed us two glasses of water without asking us to sit down, and essentially showed us out, so we ended up drinking our water while walking.
The food was nice, but unfortunately that’s the only positive thing I can say. The steam room was out of service, and we had to ask three separate times just to get our room cleaned and receive basic refills like water and tea.
This hotel is more suitable for family stay, but not for couples.
Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations at all. I will not recommend it to anyone.
Dundee Marriott lovely clean hotel…
Dundee Marriott lovely clean hotel friendly helpful staff.
Only criticism there could be a better selection at breakfast for the money
Stayed at there hotel in Exeter
Stayed at there hotel in Exeter tried to charge me a second time for a room that was already paid for on the way to my room there was rubbish in the corridors the room was very small good thing I was on my own as it would not have been big enough for two adults there was feces on the toilet and when using the toilet you could not reach the paper the shelf attached to the shower was broken and sharp there was also mould in the shower don't even get me started on the cooked breakfast it was cold the egg was like rubber the hash browns had been cooked for far too long and were full of Greece inside the bacon had been stood for a long time and had to consistency of leather the sausages looked great but had absolutely no flavour at all and don't even get me started on the mushrooms as a result at the point of writing this I am in bed with a bad stomach I will not be staying at this hotel again I think two stars is generous
£59 Hidden Booking Fees
Delta Marriott hotels are not doing enough to protect their customers from fake delta websites which have hidden fees. Beware 'Reservation Stays' which advertise as a Delta Marriot website - advertising with their logo - and when you do your booking, they charge you £59+ under the vague title of taxes and fees.
Disgusting
Had my booking with Sonder in NYC cancelled. Only heard of the cancellation from Sonder, 3 days later Marriott hadn't even bothered to contact me. Rang them up and they couldn't have been less helpful, just said I would be refunded but not when. No attempt to help me find alternative accomodation as they lied about in their press release. Now I've had to rebook for £1000 more.
I won't book with Marriott again
I made a booking at the Residence Inn by Marriott Munich Ostbahnhof yesterday morning through booking.com and wasn't aware that the person who needed the room had already made the booking and had checked in the evening before.
I found out less than an hour later and asked them if they would refund the booking as the guest had made the booking themselves and was already in the room.
They said no! It was literally less than an hour and first thing in the morning so it would not have prevented them from reselling the room and I'm sure they wouldn't have in the space of that hour from me booking it to requesting cancellation.
What happened to customer service?
I regularly book hotels for work and won't book with Marriott again.
We are currently in New York staying in…
We are currently in New York staying in a sounder/ Marriott hotel. Today with 2 days still to go received email from Marriott that we must vacate the accommodation today as they have pulled away from contract with Sounder. So now we are in New York no accommodation called Marriott to get some help and support. We are to sort our own alternative accommodation Marriott despite booking with them direct have no customer care they are evicting us no responsibility we are now desperately trying to sort some accommodation and will have to pay for it ourselves. No obligation, due diligence, that they have broken the contract with us.
Wonderful service
Just wanted thank all of the staff at the W Lounge Abu Dhabi for making our stay wonderful!!
Nan, Mimi, Roshan, Ange, Dheeraj, Sithu and Jamie looked after us amazingly, nothing was too much trouble, we would recommend to everybody!! A special shout out to Vijay the chef who among other things makes the best Mac & Cheese we have ever tasted! Look forward to seeing you all again next year x
Delta Marriott, update coffee machine
Delta Marriott, Swindon...... The breakfast is just on line with Premier Inn. The coffee machine , The taste is awfully gross, Latte, white coffee, cappuccino. The worst coffee I've tasted..
WiFi situation is now dire
This is specifically about the Delta Marriott in Huntingdon UK.
I have been staying in the hotel most weeks this year (2025) on business. My current work assignment will continue until April 2026 and I would have continued to stay in the hotel most weeks until then but I must now rethink those plans.
The hotel and its staff are fine, it is the WiFi throughout the hotel that I have issue with. It was fantastic up to 20th June 2025 and then something changed although the staff maintain that nothing in the IT provision has changed.
I have been very patient, giving the staff a chance to resolve it, but now 3 months later it has become clear that nothing is going to be done.
The degradation was server and abrupt (overnight), going from being able to stream movies without a stutter to being unable to download a single email.
The irony tonight, is that I opened the Bonvoy app to book my stays in October through to December. But the app would not let me continue, insisting that I must download and install the latest update. I started that download over an hour ago, and it is still only 50% complete - to be clear, this is a task that would take seconds normally.
I have a lot of sympathy with the staff, they are practically pulling their hair out with the frustration of having to deal with the awful and unprofessional IT company Guest-Tek who simply respond that everything is okay.
Well, it isn’t. I have now reached the stage where if I know that I might have to work in the evening I cancel my Marriott booking and stay elsewhere. I have done that on three occasions recently.
And I am now considering giving up with the Delta Marriott and staying in one of the alternative hotels in Huntingdon. That would be a shame because other that the pitiful WiFi the hotel is pretty good.
Ultimately, this is a very poor, unacceptable service by Guest-Tek, but since I don’t have any contract with them, and because I feel that Marriott should manage their suppliers better, I am leaving this review against Marriott.
Disappointing Spa Break
Disappointing Spa Break - Not Worth the Money.
I stayed for three nights from 29th August on a prepaid two-day spa package, to include dinner, breakfasts, afternoon tea, and Prosecco. While the room was comfortable and the spa staff were lovely, the overall experience was very disappointing.
The spa opened only 12–4pm on Sunday, making the “two-day spa” misleading and almost unusable. Afternoon tea, sandwiches were soggy and inedible. The hotel Breakfasts offered poor vegetarian and fruit options. Dinner had a capped allowance that wasn’t explained in advance, leading to an unexpected charge. Service and organisation were even worse. On Sunday night I was locked out of my room because of confusion over the third-party booking and payment. I was charged city taxes that was already confirmed as included in my booking and therefore overcharged. Finally, just before 11am checkout, a loud unexplained alarm went off in my room. Overall, stressful, underwhelming, not what I’d expect from a major hotel brand so sadly I cannot recommend the Marriot Manchester Piccadilly.
Spoiled by customer service
We went to explore the historic town of Bristol. Location was great, atmosphere was great. Just went dog friendly 2 weeks ago. It just felt like we were imposing on them. We got slapped with multiple extra charges which we didn’t expect. The staff were not rude, but not welcoming. Lots of little problems like the ice maker broken, the shower gel empty. Just didn’t feel like we were wanted despite paying over the odds.
Marriott Edinburgh disgusting
Marriott Edinburgh you should be ashamed of them filthy rooms there was more pubic hair in the bathroom I’ve ever seen stains on ceiling carpet trip hazard the skirting boards were grimey aswell as thick with dust. 1 coffee pod for 3 quests overall disgusting
Bad service 2* hotel
Came to delta Marriott Edinburgh for 3 nights and it was a very early flight and hotel would not give rooms before 3pm as they were being cleaned. We got the rooms at 3pm to find them very dirty and floors not cleaned. No towels no toilet paper no tea/coffee or milk. The window sill full of dust/dead flies. They don’t give bottles of water and have a fill station but we had no bottles so had to go to the petrol station to buy bottles of water and then keep refilling. Found the staff very unhelpful and seems to have an answer for everything. The standards of the hotel are nothing like the Marriott’s I’ve stayed in where the service has been exceptional. Waited 1 hour for hot drinks at the bar and shower water cold. Would never I stay here again or recommend.. I have travelled the world and stayed in thousands of hotels and this is the worst one. No robes/slippers.. no perks..
Badly managed Marriott Hotel
We arrived from London on 23-08-25 to Four Points Sheraton at Ljubana, Slovenia. The hotel reception was Manns by a lady & gentleman. The latter checked me in & “upgraded “ to their large corner room for being Titanium member. The room was barely sufficient to two people but there was no luggage stool or shoe horn . Max brought the luggage stool but we couldn’t lock the Safe to leave our passports & other valuables. Again Max came to our aid but it was temporary fix as he had to ask maintenance next day to fix it. We had to get our valuables to go out but Safe wouldn’t open & again Max was working the following morning to solve safe issue but No Maintenance group”. He tried to solve it a few times with new batteries but No Avail.!!! He said he will try again & as we were in hurry to take a tour I had to leave the room .
I told Max when we return we want a room with working Safe.
Observation : a. Hotel is staffed by two at reception to check in/ out, attend to guests requests etc. & also carry out maintenance work. This is a hotel with over 260 rooms with minimalist staff, with below standard service , etc.
Marriott it seems don’t carry out regular surprise checks , etc.
I am highly disappointed to say the least!
Terrible customer service
Booked two nights at the Bristol Royal for end of August after being gifted a voucher, asked to change date due to a FUNERAL and the hotel are insisting we cannot change our booking! How sympathetic is that?! (Not) Unbelievable! Haven’t asked for a refund but simply a date change to the following week…..Have the Marriott Bristol not heard of customer service?! Wish I had never booked it in the first place.
Don't bother staying if you have an EV
Chose the Courtyard Keele Marriott because they had 10 EV chargers so I could charge overnight, however only 3 were actually working, all in use, so I ended up driving round to find one in town. Waste of time
Utter Chaos from Start to Finish – Completely Unacceptable for a Platinum Elite Member
I stayed at the Highcliff Marriott Hotel last night and from the moment I arrived, it was nothing short of chaos. At the official 4:00 pm check-in time, my room wasn’t ready. This is completely unacceptable check-out is at 12 pm, so there’s more than enough time to turn rooms around if the hotel is adequately staffed. Clearly, this property does not have enough housekeeping staff to cope, especially during busy periods.
To make matters worse, there was no parking available, so I had to leave my car on a stranger’s driveway utterly ridiculous for a hotel of this standard.
Throughout my stay, queues were everywhere. Coming down to breakfast was another shambles: around 150 people crammed into the restaurant, served by only about four members of staff. It took 15 minutes just to get a coffee, which then arrived in a badly chipped cup.
I want to be clear the staff on duty did their best and cannot be blamed for this. This is a management and corporate staffing issue. I strongly urge the Highcliff Marriott Hotel and Marriott corporate to ensure adequate staffing levels, particularly at weekends and during peak summer periods.
As a Platinum Elite member who has spent a considerable amount of money across Marriott properties worldwide, I have never experienced such incompetence. This stay has left me extremely disappointed and reluctant to return.
Disaster stay at Leicester Marriott
After having been promptly checked in, I got into the room, unpacked and to my surprise, the room had a stench to it, the toilet appeared to have been used by someone, it hadn’t been flushed and there was mould around the bath, It didn’t feel as clean as I expected the entire room. There was so much dust in the room including the bedside cabinets, the table and drawers. Furthermore, I turned the tv on and saw a greeting of two other named individuals, possibly previous guests who stayed in the room, which seemed like a breach of data and it makes me wonder if my personal information was also being compromised and begs me to question if it’s being looked at by other guests after we leave. To make matters worse for our stay, the mattress was surprisingly worn out and uncomfortable . This was far from the standards I expected at Marriott. The Room was clearly worn out, having stayed in other Marriotts, by far this was the worst and it makes me question the Marriott brand and I wouldn’t let anyone I know book here if I can help it. I had an upcoming stay with Marriott planned but that won’t be happening now. After enduring all this, a front desk staff named Zoe, who calls herself a supervisor, said she would be calling me back in my room in 5-10 minutes, that didn’t happen so I called back and her colleague said she’s dealing with it and would call me back. After 20 minutes Zoe offered a supposedly upgraded room with 2 smaller beds, clearly knowing I wouldn’t take the room as I had a double room. I went on line and double executive rooms were available so I don’t see why she offered the twin room as opposed to a double executive room.
Zoe blamed all the issues onto house keeping including the breach of data which was her responsibility to look into. She had misled me, after having clearly suggested offering a full refund and after a very disturbing night to which I agreed. She had said that she would leave a note on the system and that the morning staff would offer the refund once I checked out. To my surprise, upon talking the following morning to front desk staff, I was told she had left no notes of issuing a refund as agreed other than a complimentary breakfast and an additional hour stay which was requested by myself that night and agreed upon, so I thought as an additional goodwill gesture. Upon calling Zoe the following evening, she had retracted from her original suggestion to give a full refund and saying she had to now get it authorised by the manager. She stated she had already gone out of her way to have offered alternative rooms which were of no use to us and a complimentary breakfast and an additional hour stay which I would have refused had she been more clear about what was and wasn’t being offered. I requested to speak to a manager and after giving his email she surprisingly stated that he would also not be issuing the refund as she had already gone out of her way to assist me. It was very disappointing on her part as she had clearly not taken ownership of her suggestions and agreements. She played my genuine concerns down and was accusing me for interrupting her when I was trying to put my points across about the conversations that had transpired between us earlier regarding her suggestions. She slammed the phone down on me after I had called her out for not honouring the refund which she clearly had suggested and later refused. Before abruptly ending the call, Zoe was advising me arrogantly that I should have checked out of the hotel if I was unhappy that night, knowing all too well it was a no cancellation booking on their website and neither had she offered this on the night except a full refund to which we had both agreed and left it at that, so I thought. My experience with Marriott overall was well below the standards I had expected. Standards have definitely gone down and this hotel is no longer value for money. I would advise anyone wanting a pleasant stay in a hotel to find an alternative and read reviews before booking.
