Medical Travel Shield Avis 

I needed to use my policy after my plastic surgery in Lithuania. I developed complications 8 days after my initial surgery and needed emergency surgery. I was already planning to stay for 2 weeks after the original operation but ended up having to stay an additional 14 days on top.

It was a life or death experience but I have nothing but praise for the insurer.

I spoke to the emergency team when I was out of ICU and they were kind and helpful. I was able to use my UK health card so didn’t need to claim for hospital costs but I know they would’ve been covered.

They covered the cost of the additional days in a hotel once I had been discharged from the hospital and I also received money towards subsistence every day I was at the hotel recovering and for each night I was in hospital after the emergency surgery.

I didn’t need to claim for flight changes but if I had needed to I could have.

The claim process was pretty straightforward once I was feeling more like myself, payment was straight into my bank. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and to recommend to anyone going abroad for plastic surgery.

Excellent company, and I’m glad I took out my insurance policy with them. Maureen from the claims department was incredibly helpful when I needed to make a claim on my medical insurance for a return trip to Turkey for dental treatment. The process was straightforward, and the funds were in my bank within 24 hours of acceptance. I would highly recommend them.

All good did not need to claim but good price

I am so glad I took out insurance with this company. I had to have revision surgery and I contacted them - Heather was assigned to my case and she has made the whole process so simple, she has been an absolute delight to deal with.

Professional throughout and helped me out with anything I needed to do and gave direction.

It took the stress out of returning for surgery knowing that I was covered for the return trip.

I would not hesitate to use this company again as its been "refreshing" to deal with an insurance company who just put barriers in the way.

Highly recommended and if Heather deals with your case then that is a bonus!!!!

I give medical travel shield 5 stars, I had to go back to Turkey to have an implant changed before my next treatment was due, I was worried as this would be more money on flights when I friend said check your medical insurance you had when you went the first time, I looked and was covered for a return visit, so did all the forms etc at very short notice, a day and a half and Laura was amazing very helpful and got everything done in time for me and I was paid out within days !!! Thank you

I was fortunate to not need to claim on this insurance, but the peace of mind it brought was worth it, fair price, easy to navigate my account online had i needed to claim, would recommend and have done

The lady I spoke to on the phone was so helpful and advised me on the best insurance to take out. I think it's a really good insurance to have when travelling abroad for cosmetic surgery, it's just peace of mind and a great insurance to have. I would recommend this company highly

Don’t bother. I’d highly recommend finding an alternative insurer. These are just your typical money grabbing scammers.
