no respect for privacy or people

People who are staying here make there own "do not disturb signs". but they are always ignored and privacy is violated. the hotel obviously never gives do not disturb signs.
They need to fire the woman who is the head of house keeping.
first I ask the front desk that they don't enter my room when I'm not there and they still do. You will sometimes see people who stay here make there own signs for housekeeping not to enter but they always ignore it.
The head of housekeeping threatened to cancel my booking just for complaining about it. which makes me wonder about all the other guests who are complaining about the same thing. Is she threatening them too?
sometimes these housekeepers will open your door completely without your permission just to ask if you want housekeeping services. Which is obviously rude. You could be changing or busy with something and they open the door as if they're going to walk inside.
How am i supposed to react to this?
I have already given the information they requested and they still are doing nothing to help. They are responding down below only pretending like they are doing something.
When I go to the link in my email sent by motel 6 through trust pilot requesting additional information.
It shows at the top of my review. " looks like you already submitted additional information". They never contacted me with the email and phone provided. I also provided a reference number for the booking.
So it makes no sense how I continue to get an email stating motel 6 has responded to my review.
They still haven't emailed me at all.
What are they doing?
All they are doing is updating their response.

Cancelled a room at Studio 6 in Barstow way in advance of my stay but they charged me anyway on they day saying it was a "no show".
This is my first daily one star review until I am refunded (I did say I woul start this on Thursday, so they have had two more days to refund me before I write this and still nothing).
I have already written and updated (three times) another review and all they say is that they are "proactively" treating my request. It's over two weeks now and I see from other comments that other people have also been charged after cancellation by these thieves.
Oh, a couple of days ago they over-wrote their comments for the fourth time (saying the same thing) and also sent me a request for further info - reservation n°, email address, name and phone number. They already have my reservation number in my initial review, from that they also have my email address and name.
They are just stalling and clearly will never reimburse anyone.
Don't trust these people with your money or credit card details!!

Hello, thanks for your comment, but it's more of the same. This has been going on for over two weeks on here, the same reponses to my first review and now this one.
You say you're looking into it but you clearly are not doing anything. It doesn't take that long to refund a payment that you should not have taken. Other people are leaving similar reviews on here, that you charge people incorrectly and then refuse to refund them, respondiong to comments that you are looking into it but you never refund.
I am sick of waiting, I have asked my back for a chargeback on my card. My bank will give me back my money, even if you refuse to!

Motel 6 replied to my review then asked for details of my stay..i asked for booking number they refused to give it to me as I was complaining respectfully about my room...My question is where do I reply to your request for more information ??? u have my name and date I was at SUPPOSED TO STAY THERE..if I was not allowed 2 stay there. Why would I have a booking number .The front desk moron took my money and put it in his pocket..!! SCAM

Absolutely horrible The bed was slept in the drain was clogged in the tub The toilet was dirty I've got pictures of everything and instead of trying to remedy the situation they threatened to call the cops on me and they kept my money and they made false accusations saying that I threatened to beat up or was in their housekeeper's face because she refused to fix the problem

All new staff at the front that can find customer service instead of purposely giving people harder times during what is ALREADY such a hard time. AND I literally after being there for 2 hrs get up to eat the pizza I just paid for to find roaches crawling out of it and my personal belongings. Extremely offended disappointed and disregarded. I’m not gonna spend 80$ to sleep with roaches and not be respected or looked as though I caused what was an obvious problem already. Will be contacting higher and higher!!

Never trust the motel 6 website with your credit card. They charge you multiple times then deni your refund. So funny last review I posted someone from motel 6 got in touch with me and offered me a discount. What am I going to do with a refund coming out of my own money you stole. That's not making things right it's making your true scamming color glow. Be careful with your personal information people they are making free money stealing from us.
I haven't stayed there and probably never will, it was the worst experience ever having to repeat the situation to them about 10 times because the transfer you back and forth no caring or knowing we have more important prob the having to get stuck with dealing with there actions too

My husband and I stayed at Motel six for two nights last weekend. It was the motel six "Ventura Downtown " California. The room was immaculately clean. There was coffee and tea available in the office and the manager was friendly and helpful. The motel is a short two blocks from the beach so a great location.

I really do not know how anyone can give this chain of hotels a rating above 1 star. DO NOT stay at these hotels if you do not have to. Thank God there are other hotel chains. Motel 6 is meant only as a last option, when you either sleep in you car or in one of these hotels. Avoid the Motel 6 Cedar Rapids Airport at all costs if possible.

I stayed at motel 6 downtown east fort worth texas ROOM 415 the restroom handle is broken. My four-year-old daughter went to use the restroom and her finger got caught in the door bruised her finger badly.I've reached out to the hotel staff and nothing has been done about that Door it's about getting that door fix so that it will not happen to anyone else. But instead i informed them of the restroom door for room 415, they hung up the phone in my face. Now if i start looking for a lawyer to sue they would think that I am going overboard , but my daughter is sitting here with a swollen finger , and all I get is a hung up call.

Update: I have received a reply from Motel 6. Each week was a different reservation and confirmation number. I'm sending Motel 6 the last number; I don't know if she's kept every one. All of them should be under her Email address. The reservations are under my wife's name, so I'll send her Name, Phone Number, and Email address. All were reservations were made online.

My wife and I spent from Aug. 2024 through Aug. 2025 at the Nashua-South, NH Motel 6. After reporting guests smoking weed from a bong in front of the door to our room, we were told to leave. The dopers were allowed to stay. Public marijuana consumption is illegal for businesses and individuals alike.
Here's an excerpt of some more concerning issues during our stay:
(1) A huge dildo beneath our bed, which was left behind by a prior occupant. I had to removed it myself. Disgusting.
(2) A large presence of urine stains on our mattress, and whatever dried, bloody, bodily-fluid that accompanied it. It's as if someone was shot or died in that bed.
(3) A 3-foot long clump of gray hair that I pulled from the clogged bathroom tub drain. I found that the first night there.
(4) Filthy dirty floors. Our feet were covered with a thick, black film from walking in the room the first night there. My wife and I wore flip-flops in the room the entire time there to avoid accumulating grime on our feet.
(5) Winter guests are resigned to helping push each other's vehicles up the long, ascending, motel driveway that leads to the parking areas. Management never had the decency to call in a plow to clear the lot until morning. One multiple-year occupant at the Motel 6 told me that it is like that every winter.
(6) Pink towels and wash cloths. You'll receive white towels/cloths for a short stay. If you are around long enough for a towel change, you will be given pink towels/cloths with a dye that rubs onto your skin while drying off.
(7) Cockroaches. Someone took care of it, I'll give them credit for that. But, they denied their presence.
(8) Excessive noise after 10 PM and fighting.
(9) Needles discovered in rooms by other guests. A former employee told me that the motel is known as "The Overdose Capital of The Northeast."
(10) Guests drinking in the parking lot and urinating in full view of others, including children.
I've talked by phone and corresponded online with G6 Hospitality Guest Relatiions. They did nothing. They don't care. They only action out them is to remove reviews. Fortunatelyt, details are forever available on my websites and social media pages.
Stay away from Motel 6. They tout themselves as an "Iconic American Brand" while being being owned by G6Hospitals OravelStays, both headquartered in India. Bad, deceptive company. Horrible customer service. Worst chain I've patroned in 16 years on the road.

We booked and prepaid for a room through Booking.com and arrived at the Motel 6 property as scheduled, only to be refused check-in at the door by a male member of staff because one of us who is disabled didn’t happen to be carrying ID. The room had already been fully paid for.
The hotel receptionist repeatedly claimed that all guests must be “accountable” for any damage or issues in the room. But this excuse makes no sense in our case: me, the person who made and paid for the booking, had valid ID and was already the responsible guest. By their own logic, accountability was already established. Refusing us simply because we both didn’t have ID was unnecessary, illogical, and cruel. There was no legitimate risk, they chose to enforce a hidden policy rigidly instead of providing the service they were paid for and rather than exercise basic human compassion, they left a vulnerable unwell guest out in the cold.
From what we saw this requirement was not clearly shown on the Booking.com booking page before payment, yet when we questioned it we were simply told it was a "new policy" and that we
"should have read the fine print." but from
what we saw there is no mention of ID clearly displayed on the booking page, nor is it alluded clearly to in the booking confirmation. It’s hidden way down at the very bottom of the page in a separate column.
This is not good enough in my view. Given that it reserves the right to turn away guests without a refund, the chain should prominently highlight the importance of bringing a passport or driving licence.
To tell someone at the door that this is a “new policy” requiring guests to bring ID. If this is indeed the case, then it should be clearly and prominently stated at the point of booking, rather than being hidden within separate sections or requiring additional clicks to locate being a “new policy” Customers should not be expected to uncover essential entry requirements in this way, how are customers expected to know of this “new policy” if it’s not made clear at point of booking, before taking our money?
Furthermore, while you state that you “reserve the right to refuse entry,” this does not remove the responsibility to ensure that such important conditions are communicated transparently and upfront.
The result was that we were sent away late at night with no room despite having already paid in full. One of us is a disabled man in extreme pain and fatigue with terminal cancer, and being treated this way after our last money had been taken felt unbelievably cruel, terrifying, despicable and completely inhumane. It also left us in a vulnerable and dangerous situation we had to sleep in a car in the freezing cold in the middle of winter as they took our last money, with nowhere to go despite being disabled and unwell. It was very distressing and terrifying.
How could anyone think it acceptable to turn a vulnerable man, far from home, out into the street at night and keep his money?
Since then it has been nothing but a back-and-forth between the Motel 6 and Booking.com, with each side pushing responsibility onto the other while the customer is left out of pocket, now Motel 6 is refusing to confirm they cancelled the booking for booking.com to process a refund.
Booking.com advised us they called Motel 6 Prescott and the motel simply said they didn’t want to know and are not willing to provide confirmation they cancelled the booking.
Because of this, PayPal has now been asked to step in and investigate the payment for a service that was never provided.
A truly disgraceful, distressing, disgusting and deeply disappointing experience.
We will never use Motel 6 or booking.com ever again.

There is a subsidiary of Motel 6 called "Studio 6."
They have one of the worst online portals. It's through booking dot com.
When you try to seek help over refunds, the Studio 6 people refer you to the contact or help page at booking dot com. Studio 6 and even the Motel 6 staff will not let you speak with their supervisors for any reason over the telephone. I've tried multiple times. It's some kind of obstinate ploy by the call center people to "dig in" over refusing refunds even when said terms and conditions favor the client (me, in this case).
I was charged $89.27 for a reservation that I never used. I cancelled within the agreed-upon time, I was also told by Studio 6 that I'd be receiving a refund too. It was all a big lie.

I have stated many motel 6s across the US over the years and never have I stayed at one that was this bad. The beds were just a mattress placed on top of what appears to be a homemade bed stand the four legs that hold it up are nothing more than old rusty inch and a half pipe. No box spring two pillows that together we're about as thick as a slice of bread. A round table that was cut in half and placed against the wall looks like it was but the worst thing was the site itself. Three stories of rooms with hookers and drug dealers everywhere. I'm not talking one or two I'm talking almost every room that was occupied had people running in and out people sitting in cars in the parking lot below each room all night partying in their cars. Junkies walking back and forth across the back of the property looking as if they're sizing up the visitors coming in and out to rob her attack him. This is no b*******. The location of this unit is in North Fresno off of Blackstone and Herndon avenue and as I've already said it's possibly the worst motel 6 I've ever seen. Come on now a couple of hookers here and there I wouldn't have bothered me. This was not a safe location to stay at under any conditions at night if you stayed in the room you were fine I would not have ventured outside for all the tea in China.

Chattanooga, Tennessee Motel 6. Two locations visited in February of 2026.
Locations: (1) Chattanooga Downtown Location, (2) Lee Highway Location.
Overall experience: 1 out of 10.
Cleanliness: 0 out of 10. Bed sheets stained, full of obvious cigarette burn holes, broken floor tiles, malfunctioning sliding window, cigarette burn stains on bathtub, bathing and face towels completely stained, bed-sheets with dark yellow, black, and grey stains. Pillows with dark yellow, black and grey stains. Normally white electrical outlet faceplates are damaged and/or yellowing. Cockroaches! 4 cockroaches killed in first hour in room - one of them came out of mattress while I was lying on it.
Staff Interaction: 0 out of 10. Unfriendly, unconcerned, unprofessional, and generally rude employee (there was only one anywhere while visiting) during each interaction.
Property / Environment: 3 out of 10.
At the Lee Highway location, Direct TV television signal interrupted every few seconds. This never subsided.
At both locations - Obvious illicit activity taking place in various rooms including drug dealing and prostitution (three new visitors to neighboring room within 2 hours and audible sexual activity taking place ). Poor to ridiculously low water pressure. The Downtown location specifically has sealed all of its external exits ( or at least they prevent access to them. The front main lobby entrance is the only way in or out of the three story, 300+ room building. Parking exists around the entire building but due to the inaccessible entrances, visitors are burdened by having to walk some distance to gain access to through the lobby exclusively. Hallways feel “dank” while the smell of mold and offensive cleaning products is unavoidable. Some visitors at both locations are excessively loud, hears adults running in hallways loudly multiple times, could not avoid hearing loud talking / laughing / arguing from other visitors on the same floor - this was while our room door was closed to the hallways. This meant that we could clearly hear audible vulgarity being spoken at high volumes, with children within hearing distance, and while our room door was closed. Bathtub was disgusting with sticky and slimy residue all over it. Toilet seats with cigarette or other type of permanent burns in the plastic seat. A/C unit has highly damaged control buttons and its air vents are full of dark black lint/dust. Extremely low water pressure in sink and from shower head / bathtub's spout.

I am writing this review regarding my stay at Motel 6 - Fort Lauderdale located at 1801 SR-84 W, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315.
I was placed in a room that was later acknowledged by the hotel as a “DO NOT RENT” room. Shortly after entering the room, I noticed a strong burning sulfur smell coming from the heater, which is clearly a serious safety and health concern. I immediately reported this to the front desk.
To be fair, the on-site manager handled the situation professionally. She acknowledged the issue, confirmed the room should not have been rented, and approved a refund. However, because I booked through Expedia, she explained that she could not issue the refund directly and that it would need to be processed through Expedia’s system on their end.
Unfortunately, when I contacted Expedia on January 20, I was told that when they reached out to the hotel, they could not obtain “clear confirmation” of the approved refund. This was extremely frustrating, as the refund had already been verbally approved by the hotel manager. It appears the issue stemmed from poor internal documentation and communication, not from a lack of approval.
In an effort to resolve this, I also contacted Motel 6 customer service later that evening around 8:40 PM and spoke with an agent named Sofia. Unfortunately, she stated she could not assist or provide guidance, leaving me stuck between the hotel and Expedia with no resolution.
This experience highlights a larger issue with budget hotels: while the price may be lower, the lack of proper follow-through, documentation, and customer support is not worth the $25–$30 savings. When a safety issue occurs, customers should not be forced to chase multiple parties to receive a refund that was already approved.
I want to emphasize that the hotel manager herself was kind and professional, but when refunds are not properly notated in the system, it puts customers in an extremely uncomfortable and unfair position—having to repeatedly explain the same issue to different companies.
I hope Motel 6 improves its internal processes so future guests are not placed in the same situation.
