I have been to a couple of speed dating events organzied by Cheely date - both in San Diego and in OC. I had a great experience in all the events I have been to. I have connected with people offline from these events as well and always had great experience with my matches! Being a busy professional, its challenging for me to balance my social life with my career. Cheeky dates let me meet selected people in an time effective way.

A Refreshing change from the Apps!
The whole things was well organized and well run. Communication was timely for changes.
And everyone got to meet eachother and spent a decent amount of time getting to know.

Toronto dating mix
Hi There fellow daters,
I have had my first Cheeky Date experience in Toronto. I liked the location it offered a cosy mix of tables that allowed a round of about 10 conversations. The minutes went fast and each conversation was different. On arrival the profiles of each dater is viewable. In true speed-dating fashion, you then get to shortlist as you would like. I would say go for it - you never know you just might meet someone you wish to get to know better!

Out of three other dating event organizers in Toronto I've tried, this one's the best. The singles here are of a different quality - very respectful, open, and communicative. Just so professional. The hosts are very friendly and personable, and the event itself is run so smooth and orderly. Cheeky is the one I keep coming back to to hopefully find a match!

When that happens, tickets remain valid for future dates. Eventbrite is the merchant of record and handles all payment processing, and we rely on them to service their customers directly.

several events, no results, good learning experience
I attended several events and made a few matches, but never had a match respond back when I tried to make contact. I still found it to be a great learning experience, as this was my first time entering the dating pool in almost a decade (divorce after 8 years). It was an environment where everyone was there for more or less the same reason, and I never felt overwhelmed or pressured. I did end up finding someone through another avenue, and I am now engaged. I will always be thankful for the experience " My Cheeky Date" gave me to get myself back out there.

Repeat Last Minute Cancelations -
Cancels events within <24 hours with no transparency for the reason other than "last minute rescheduling requests" by attendees. After discussing with two venues where these events were supposedly to take place and being told they have no awareness of anyone booking the space for events past or present and one definitely saying that it would be impossible to book the location without several days notice, there is a high degree of evidence to conclude they are hiding behind a combination of Eventbrite and their internal policy for no refunds to scam customers. When asked whether they had ever successfully held an equivalent event within the local area or to divulge how many people were ever signed up for their "sold out" events, they refused to provide any level of detail that cpuld be substantiated that might otherwise assure that they are a legitimate business. Their primary business model appears to be indefinite delay of event scheduling for low-effort event fee farming hoping customers do not pursue widespread compaints about their deceptive business practices. While at one time they may have been a legitimate business with events within the California area, it is clear now they are not and I do not ever recommend signing up for their events or events of any of their subsidiaries.

We understand our guest services team reached out when you expressed concerns about your ticket in Minneapolis, and they also assisted you with Eventbrite to ensure your refund was processed.
Regarding venues: as explained, many of our spaces are managed through hospitality groups rather than individual in-house staff. We are always happy to clarify venue arrangements or share venue contact information with any guest who requests it, as we did with you.
In your case in Minneapolis, we have seen a surge in reschedule requests since you signed up in January. Weather conditions this season have been especially challenging, and recent local tragedies have understandably impacted attendance. In most cases we are able to absorb shifts in attendance and events proceed as scheduled. When attendance changes materially, however, we may adjust rather than host an unbalanced experience.
We want to be clear that there are no deceptive tactics at play. In live dating events, guests sometimes reschedule for personal reasons — illness, work conflicts, travel delays, weather, or simply not feeling up to attending. Dating is personal, and last-minute changes do happen.
For 19 years, we have operated with this same flexible rescheduling policy. We understand that flexibility may not suit everyone. However, it has allowed us to host nearly 26,000 events across 60+ cities and build one of the most established and consistently reviewed track records in the industry. When guests are disappointed or inconvenienced, we do our best to ensure they feel supported and have a positive experience — whether at that event or a future one. That philosophy is part of our Cheeky Promise: an understanding, transparent approach to live events.

First off, if you are smart enough to check here, you already know this is a scam. Second, check all the positive reviews, they are all new accounts with only one review, and you can tell the reviews are fake if you look at a few and compare them. So basically here’s the scam, they cancel events a few hours before it is supposed to start and direct you to eventbrite for a refund. They are essentially hoping you will be too lazy to go through the process.

This was my second time attending an event through mycheekydate. The original event that I signed up for was canceled, so this one was rescheduled and at a new location. Everyone I talked to at the organization, was friendly and accommodating to the rescheduling process. The event overall was enjoyable! Would recommend to a friend/ seeking it out for yourself!

I purchased a ticket for a Cheeky Date event scheduled for January 3rd. I got dressed, drove to the event—only to arrive and find nobody there. I checked my email after the fact, and only then did I see a cancellation notice. No phone call. No text. Who the hell checks email on a Saturday night when they’re headed to a dating event?
I immediately requested a refund. Instead of honoring that, they said “We’ll just apply your ticket to the Jan 17th event.” I agreed, even though I wanted my money back.
Then what happened? The Jan 17th event got pushed to February 14th.
I called. I asked again for my refund. The organizer told me to go through Eventbrite. Eventbrite then pointed to a “No Refunds” policy and told me to kick rocks.
So now I’m out money, time, and patience—because I trusted a system that kept canceling events and refusing refunds.
Let me be clear:
🚫 Cheeky Date = shady
🚫 Eventbrite = enabling the scam
💸 They are profiting off canceled events and hiding behind vague policies.
I’ve warned them. Next step: dispute the charge with your bank and leave public reviews. You will win.
Stop letting these companies eat off our time and energy. We’re not dumb. We’re done.
I want my money BACK.

When an event is rescheduled, guests are notified by email through the ticketing system, as that is the contact method attached to the order. That said, we understand not everyone checks email while on their way to an event, and we are always working to make communication clearer and easier for guests.
To be very clear: under our Cheeky Guarantee, if MyCheekyDate reschedules an event, guests may request a refund. If a guest’s own plans change, their ticket remains valid as a flexible credit for a future event of the same type.
Eventbrite is the ticket provider and payment platform, which is why refund requests are submitted through Eventbrite. However, if a refund request is connected to a MyCheekyDate reschedule, guests can also contact us directly so we can help ensure the request is handled properly under the Cheeky Guarantee.
We are sorry this experience felt disappointing and inconvenient. That is never the impression we want a guest to leave with. Our events are designed to be organized, balanced, and enjoyable, and when a schedule change happens, our goal is to handle it with clarity, flexibility, and care.

Nice idea but the business model needs…
Nice idea but the business model needs improvement. Even though they advertise an age range, they allow candidates of 20-30 years over that range. It is the second event I attended where that happened. Allowing someone 5-7 years older is one thing, but sitting across from a person older than my dad was uncomfortable and unpleasant. The participant told me he was informed everyone is welcomed. This is fake advertisement and unfair to the participants.

For context, we’d like to note that you’ve attended six events with us, with strong engagement and outcomes overall — including a match at your most recent event and 11 matches across prior events, which is wonderful to see and very impressive. :-)
To clarify one point raised: our listed age ranges are recommendations rather than strict cutoffs, something we note on our website. We aim to keep events closely aligned with those ranges while also operating within broad anti-discrimination requirements nationwide, and especially in California. In practice, the vast majority of guests attend events that are well within or very near the recommended ages.
That said, comfort is personal, and if an interaction felt off, we take that feedback seriously and will always do our best to make it up to our daters.
