I found the information and support from the clinic prior to the hip replacement was excellent Any queries were answered promptly and comprehensively The orthopaedic team were excellent and I’m very pleased with the outcome I valued the post op physio package which was crucial to a positive outcome I would definitely recommend the clinic and come back again if the need arises

I honestly cannot recommend Nordorthopaedics highly enough.
I travelled from Swansea, Wales to Kaunas for ankle arthroscopy and removal of the metalwork from my ankle. I already knew of positive experiences through family members who had been treated there, but travelling abroad for surgery was still a huge decision and naturally I was nervous. A very special mention has to go to Adam Card, Nordorthopaedics’ UK ambassador, who was my first point of contact in the UK. Before I even contacted Nordorthopaedics directly, Adam helped guide me through what scans, X-rays and information I needed, sent me the relevant links, helped me get everything together and put me in contact with the clinic. He answered countless questions, explained the whole process and was always there whenever I needed advice or reassurance. Having somebody in the UK who knows the process and can guide you from that very first step is invaluable when you’re considering surgery abroad. From the moment I arrived in Lithuania, everything was extremely well organised. The clinic was professional, clean and reassuring, and everyone I dealt with was kind, patient and caring. A special shout-out to Emilija and Neringa, who were both wonderful and always available whenever I needed them, whether by email or phone. Knowing I could contact them whenever I had questions made such a difference, especially when I was away from home.
A huge thank you also to Dr Titas Daraska, who carried out my surgery. I felt listened to and respected, everything was explained clearly and I felt completely confident that I was in very capable hands. I stayed in one of Nordorthopaedics’ sister apartments, around a 10-minute walk from Kaunas city centre and approximately 20 minutes from the Old Town, near Kaunas Hotel. The apartment was comfortable and worked really well for my recovery.
If I went again I would personally choose to stay in the Old Town simply because I loved that area so much, but a huge advantage of staying in Nordorthopaedics accommodation was having nursing support after surgery — something I wouldn’t have had in a normal hotel.
That reassurance was especially important for me as I was completely non-weight bearing afterwards. The whole experience, from arranging everything beforehand to the surgery and aftercare, was far less stressful than I ever imagined travelling abroad for an operation could be. I’m still recovering, so it’s too early to judge the final result of the surgery, but in terms of the care, organisation, communication and support, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. I would have absolutely no hesitation in returning to Nordorthopaedics if I ever needed orthopaedic treatment again.

After waiting a year and then told the waiting list is 4 years on the NHS for knee replacement, I decided to look at other options. Once I found and got in touch with Nord, it took a matter of a few weeks to complete the operation. They arranged everything from airport meets , transport, tests, which was so easy for me. The whole thing was impressive how organised and stress free it was. Then we come to the price.less than half of what it would cost private in the UK ( which also included physio).
For anyone thinking about knee surgery abroad....it's a no brainer!!

Great experience from start to finish. All of my concerns before travel were addressed in a timely manner. The experience and advice from the surgeon was exceptional and the aftercare was 2nd to none. 6 weeks post op and I am back in the gym doing spin and back in the pool light swimming I can’t thank the staff enough for their care

I had my hip replaced at Nord in July along with my brother the 2 of us went together had our hips done the same day it was the best experience of our lives couldn’t fault Nord at all from the word go every thing went like clock work Nord did every thing for us they are so friendly so helpful and the consultant and the anethedist were so experienced talk us through everything we are both doing well walking well without pain the phyiso was amazing as well i can’t thank them enough if any body needs to go please don’t hesitate or if i can help in any way i didn’t want to come home lol x

Nord orthopedic is the most professional medical unit I have the pleasure of dealing with. From the pre operation review to the post operation physio recovery it is clear that they provide the best service to ensure you have the best results from surgery.
I had a TKR on left knee and am getting ready for the same on the right. 5 weeks post operation I am walking several miles a day with my dog and have no more pain in the joint.
I strongly believe that the combination of first class surgery and the integrated physio that the group provides is the reason for it.

I visited nord after doing some intensive research for a foot & ankle surgeon.
I had been incorrectly diagnosed in Scotland as having tendinitis for over four years until I was unable to walk any distance due to severe pain, and was then eventually diagnosed with end stage severe arthritis in both ankles.
The waiting list was up to two years just to get on the list and a further three to four years for surgery
I’d have been in a wheelchair.
Dr Kimtys appeared in searches as a renowned foot & ankle specialist having carried out hundreds of surgeries of this nature.
I decided to go for scans and an initial consultation as the cost privately in Scotland was approximately £40,000 for two ankle replacements.
After meeting Dr Kimtys I was immediately impressed by his thoroughness and he in fact discovered another issue that needed correction before having ankle replacements which increased my confidence.
Reda was my “go to” case handler and she was/is fantastic.
Despite having I guess numerous patients to deal with the communication and detail in her emails were exemplary throughout.
The tests ie ct scans and X-rays etc are carried out quickly and professionally in an excellent spotlessly clean environment at a fraction of the cost .
You are also given your scans immediately on a usb (waited 5 weeks here on NHS to send)
Everything is done on time and the logistics team are absolutely so efficient in picking you up and dropping off at the appointment times.
Blood tests and ecg etc pre surgery is also carried out quickly and expertly.
Surgery itself on the day went like clockwork with great pre surgery and aftercare, the nursing staff and the room were excellent.
Also , I must say the food was also excellent.
The discharge letters are all in perfect English also.
I have another two ankle surgeries still to come in the next few months and would not want anyone else to do these apart from Dr Kimtys.
It is probably around half the price of back home, and that includes four visits with return flights. Surgery costs and hotel costs all included.
Half price is all well and good with a £20,000 saving being a significant factor.
However the cost would be secondary if the surgery, the surgeon, the care etc were not at an acceptable level.
The fact is, I would go to Nord in a heartbeat over any hospital here in the UK private or otherwise.
Do not think twice.
Lastly, Kaunas is a fantastic place.
It is absolutely immaculately clean and vibrant with beautiful restaurants bars shops hotels and a wonderful huge indoor shopping centre.
No litter. No mess no rowdiness.
Just an excellent place.
I am actually looking forward to getting my next two surgeries completed and I will definitely return to visit the city thereafter.

From start to finish, my experience at Nord was nothing short of amazing. I was assigned a SPOC from the outset who turned out to be like a Guardian Angel especially when my flight to Kaunas was cancelled. Thank you Neringa! Everything operates seamlessly and like clockwork and the professionalism of the medical staff, the administrative staff and the logistics team is second to none. I had a total right hip replacement followed by 10 days physio with the world-class team led by Prof. Laimonas Šiupšnskas. I have returned home pain-free with a detailed exercise programme having met some wonderful people along the way. It honestly felt more like a holiday than a major operation. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough.

The service from inquiring to having done was brilliant. Kept up to date by emails and when there by what's app. Being picked up amd taken back to airport great service. Taken to clinic and physio always there on time on helped me on mini bus.
First class service throughout

Age 70. I needed a right hip replacement and after 2 years I was still not on the NHS waiting list in N Ireland! I found this company on Facebook and was a bit wary until I joined their Support Group and read all the genuine positive reviews from people in the UK. Fantastic experience right from my first email to the company. Excellent communication through one point of contact. All my initial queries answered by surgeon. Felt I was really being listened to and cared about as an individual.
Arrived off plane in Kaunas and Nord driver waiting for me and took me directly to clinic for pre op bloods, ECG, measurements and Xray. No waiting around! Immediately afterwards I was driven to my Airbnb. Collected again the next day to have a consultation with the surgeon and finalise my choice of implant. Everything runs so smoothly and with such professionalism that I felt really at ease. The next day I was taken to the clinic for my operation at 9:00am and at 9:00am on the dot I was taken in for my operation. Sedation and then spinal block- I didn’t feel a thing! Woke up in my room a few hours later still pain free. Stayed in overnight and the next day with pain meds. Food delicious. Physio gave me exercises to do and ice packs given. Discharged on the 2nd day after a practise walk up and down stairs and joined outpatient Physio group on ground floor. Choose to do 13 days of physio before my flight home. I was taken there daily by a Nord driver and returned to my Airbnb immediately afterwards. I highly recommended doing as much Physio here as possible. The daily ice machine and compression brings down inflammation we are given specific exercises for hip rehabilitation. Walking pain free and easily without crutches by day 9 after op. Given more sheets of harder exercises to do from week 3 back home. Plus sheet on swimming pool exercises and gym exercises to do at a later date. Feeling very motivated to get back to walking in the mountains once again.
I highly recommend this company and I will definitely return if I ever need another hip replacement or knee replacement. I rate everything about it as A*****

Initially I was very uncertain about traveling out of the UK for a hip replacement.
Lots of friends of friends recommended Nordorthopaedics, at which point I started researching more about them.
My chiropractor put my mind at ease when he said he personally knew quite a few people who had had fantastic surgery in Lithuania at the Nord clinic.

I booked my surgery and accommodation well in advance, everything went like clockwork.
From start to finish the staff across the board were excellent as was the clinics accommodation.

I had 7 days of physio after the hip replacement which undoubtedly helped me recovery much faster.
Its now 3 months since the operation, I often forget I have a new hip.

They have thought about how they can get people from different countries to Lithuania
Accommodate them ferry them around the surgery pt .For people of all ages.i have just returned from my second tkr 3 months apart I highly recommend them

I’m post op 6 weeks after having a reverse shoulder replacement, the whole experience was very professional, easy to navigate.
Everything was organised by Reda & team from appointments travel , documentation etc.
the hospital is extremely well run. Immaculate and Clean. Over night accommodation was very comfortable, with good post opp care.
After two nights in hospital I then had another four nights in the kuanas hotel, which was also well placed with ice packs etc.
logistics was organised by the hospital which functioned well.

I had done by now two hip surgeries at nordorthopaedics clinic by dr valdemar loiba - a young and professional surgeon. He isnt the only of such kind in the clinic. In fact, most of their staff are young. They do good job, which is worth the money paid for it. Clinic is comfortable and staff is helpful, that includes front desk, surgeons and especially customer service team. Neringa from customer service, who advises british patients, provided me with advice that helped me to save over £1000 each time in surgery costs.

I have trusted Nord with my two knee replacement surgeries and cannot fault them in any respect. They achieve the highest level of professionalism across the board, from administration and communication, nursing care, transportation coordination and surgery to post operative physiotherapy and ongoing support. A centre of excellence in every department I encountered. I would not hesitate to recommend Nord to anyone needing surgery.
