Norfolk Country Cottages Avis 

We stayed in Burnham market in Cooper's cottage a cute little place.
Unfortunately there were a few things that could have been dealt with but were passed on to someone else who we didn't hear back from at all.
There was a stained blind in the main bathroom & two dirty towels neatly rolled up on the end of the bed. I get that things can get missed but surely towels are checked regularly. No one came with clean replacements. The shower in the main bathroom needs re sealing & grouting is yellow between the tiles.
Woodwork on stair rail was a bit grubby too!
Some of the oven ware needs replacing in the kitchen & there was no tea towel or washing pods as advertised.
If someone had contacted us about our concerns it would have been appreciated but nothing!!!!

I’m booked accommodation for next week but it was cancelled due to the guys staying being “tradesmen “ as they put it. I have very good reviews and always respectful of someone’s property. I was told that they only took “ holiday makers” but it does not state this on any site. We wear shirt and trousers to our work space and do fine tuning on radar equipment. I would not recommend using this company.

I booked a cottage for four nights at the beginning of April and was assured that my reservation would be held for 48hrs, when I would be required to pay in full as it was too late to take just a deposit.
I received three emails next day confirming my reservation and asking for further details of my group and I was ready to pay the full amount next morning. At 4.30pm that day I was suddenly advised that I no longer had a booking!
I spoke to about four different agents who apologised and mentioned a complication as it seems the owners had made a booking for the same dates. Despite having what I consider to be a contract for my booking, the manager who finally rang me insisted that there was no contract as no money had been taken, despite the fact that it had been confirmed three times.
Presumably, the owner made a booking without properly checking availability and theirs was given priority over mine, which I do not consider to be acceptable practice.

We've always been satisfied with the service we've received from Norfolk Country Cottages, recognising that it is simply the letting agent for the properties. Just got back from the Wee Retreat and if you love the sight and sound of the sea, this is the property for you. It's a bit Tardis-like in that from the outside you'd not realise how much could be packed into such a small footprint and the owners have produced a little gem of a place. But there are points that should be noted: it is a wee place, so don't expect huge bathrooms; with no dining table, eating in for 4 wouldn't be especially sociable (but this is pointed out in the property details) neither is there comfortable seating for 4. There was just the 2 of us so none of this mattered. I wouldn't say the property was particular well equipped with kitchen equipment, crockery, etc and there was no iron or ironing board. The 'welcome pack' of a pint of milk is less than impressive. This is quite an expensive let, so it would be good if the owners could address some of these issues. Oh, and as mentioned in the property details, there is quite a long, steep slope and steps to be negotiated for access from the roadway above - those with dodgy kneecaps should come prepared! We just enjoyed the sea and Sheringham.

We booked Bond Cottage (OC-B28046) in Overstrand for a family holiday in April. Norfolk Cottages advertised it as having a SHOWER ROOM which was an absolute must for my mum as she finds it difficult to get in and out of a bath; however, when we arrived we were greeted by a notice stating NOT to use the shower room. Tiles were missing from the wall, which also had a hole in it, so she had to use the upstairs bath that had no grab rails nor a non-slip mat which caused her much discomfort. Both these items would prove of assistance to anybody using the facility. The windows in the bedrooms had substantial mould on them which had obviously been there for some time. The curtains in the lounge were hanging off the track and behind them were two runs of mould stretching the length of the window on either side. What we paid for and what we got were poles apart - I wouldn't rely too heavily on the nicely taken pictures on Norfolk Cottages' shiny website as, from our experience at least, this is not what you are getting. Feedback was provided to Norfolk Cottages and they have had ample time to respond, but never did. This is in keeping with a recent survey conducted by Which? Magazine that found Norfolk Cottages to be the worst holiday cottage company to rent from. You have been warned.

Not a good holiday experience. Gave us the wrong key safe code, giving us access to an already let apartment. They took over two hours to get the correct code! Then we found property wasn’t as advertised. Logged issue and chased several times during our stay, only to be completely ignored. Appalling customer service, feel let down.

We had a great stay at The Grainstore Briston.
& would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Tim the owner meet us on arrival with some goodies & nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for a week at 5 carpenters cottages and found on arrival a dirty house. There was greasy anď sticky hand rails to stairs, cooking pans rusty and greasy and filth on the oven door, cobwebs on walls, blood stains on bed sheets and dirty stains on arms of sofa. There was a even a dirty flannel from the previous occupiers. We reported our findings to the Holt office twice. On arrival home we mailed our complaints with no response so repeated the mail again with no response. We have stayed before at the same place and enjoyed our stay but would have appreciated a courtesy call to hear our complaints.

Good website, easy booking and property accurately described

All the people at country cottages I spoke with were as helpful as they could be particularly the lady I spoke to when we knew some of the family wouldn’t be able to go - she was so kind and understanding.

Booking process online was simple and seamless. No issues encountered. Company kept us updated regarding our booking, providing directions to the property and how to pick up the key. Property was perfect for us and our two dogs to explore the area.

This holiday home provided everything we needed in an excellent location, near shops, pubs, restaurants and an unexpected top cocktail bar. We had walks from the house and within short drives out to many walks and excellent historic properties. It is definitely worth another visit.

Lovely big house for a couple of families, great location for Cromer Town centre only a few minutes walk.

Lovely cosy cottage. Central to everywhere we wanted to visit in the car. Owners very friendly and helpful. Great welcome pack of flowers, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cookies. Everything we needed here. Would recommend.

Amazing company to book with. The property was top class, gorgeous house, stunning location. And the customer service from this company really stood out, I am so grateful we booked with them. We will absolutely book again, esp as they are good at finding pet friendly stays.
