I just recently found out that I passed my Step 1 Exam. I'm thankful that I was able to be a part of this prep course because it not only gave me structure for my studies, but it also kept me interactively learning while working through questions in a group setting. I was thankful that I had Irshan as a teacher through this course because he pushed us to have a deeper understanding of concepts by not just explaining them in his own words, but having us explain why we chose certain answers to questions to see how we were thinking and reasoning. Looking back, this really helped me because it made me realize that if I wasn't able to explain the concept in my own words to teach someone else, then I probably didn't really have a good understanding even if I thought I did on my own. I was able to form a small study group which also was a great help to review what we did each day in class, and helped bring a different perspective for different concepts. All in all, I am thankful I completed my Step 1 exam and can move on to clinical rotations. When I came in to the course, I had been unsuccessful in my COMP (pre-test for Step 1), and by the end of the class I passed my COMP and later my Step 1. God is so good! I am beyond thankful for Irshan and this course for giving me the extra push I needed to keep up with this process and complete it successfully!

Best decision I've ever made. Extremely helpful and always give full support. Highly recommended to everyone wanting to do this damned exam.

It was a great experience and I passed my CS with high performance. Dr.Somas works really hard to bring out the best in you. He understands how important this exam is for IMGs. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I big thank you to the entire fraternity at the NYCS center.

Dr Somas is a great teacher. We were about 30 students during the 3 day course but it felt like a one-on-one course. He knew everyone by name and showed interest in our individual progress. He makes you feel you can do it no matter what you think of yourself. I can go on and on. He is up to date with current trends of the exam and gives you timeless guidelines for patient interviews and examination. I passed my exam after this course. My effort and grace counted but I feel Dr Somas also played a huge part in my success as well. I highly recommend this course to anyone seeking to pass the CS exam!

This course helped me a lot in my preparation for Step2 CS. They gave us tips to ace the test, and also Dr. Somas is amazing and he was very helpful, he reviewed my patient notes regularly until the day of my test. The staff and the SP's were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!!!

Dr Somas teachs you a systematic way to tackle the step 2 CS exam. Including what questions to ask, how to do physical exam, how to write the patient note. Because the course is just 3 days, with the last day being the mock exam, you dont get enough practice from just doing the course. What really makes this course valuable is the ability to keep coming to the center and practice until the date of your exam.

This was a fantastic course and excellent preparation for the exam. It was especially useful as an international medical graduate (UK) to learn what is expected in this exam, as there are many potential pitfalls of which I would have been otherwise unaware. It was also great to find a community of people going through the exam at the same time, and through this course I found a revision buddy and friends! Finally, this represents excellent value. Thanks Dr Somas.

There was no way I could take this test without Dr. Soma's inputs. History taking, physical examination, and note writing coachings were amazing.

Review of 'STEP 2 CS PACKAGE - PATIENT'

Slow process.
Late and poor reviews.

Limited cases: they only provide feedback on NYCSPREP step 2 CS, First Aid or Kaplan Core cases. If you purchase STEP 2 CS PACKAGE - PATIENT NOTE REVIEW, they do not provide the NYCSPREP step 2 CS cases.

Patient notes must be uploaded in sets of five.
If you upload 10 of them at once, you can't get reviews at once.
The review service is available for 10 days.
But it takes 48 BUSINESS hours to get a review. It means it takes at least 3 bussiness days.

I started upload the patient notes on August 24 and I got the only 5 reviews among 15 uploaded patient notes until August 31.
To get those reviews I have to send several emails becasue of technical problems and late responses.
I asked for a refund when I didn't get any reviews, but they only said they were working.
It was an obvious waste of time and money.

very strong personal statement, well revised, medically and grammatically. The only comment is that they take a long time to reply, but I understand because of the revision of the documents and the volume of PS they have to write and/or edit

Dr. Soma is the best. The CS Prep course I took was very comprehensive and detailed. You will learn everything you really need for the test in 3 days. In 1 week I was ready for the exam, I did not need to study FirstAid or any other books. I only used the notes I took during the lectures with Dr. Soma and I passed the exam with high scores.
CS is a hard exam, but Dr. Soma is the best expert in this field and will definitely help you be 100% prepared for the test, and overcome exam anxiety.
After I passed the CS exam, I asked many friends take the course with Dr. Soma and they were all super happy with the results.

I have taken my exam and i am glad to announce that i have passed the exam with ease thanks to Dr. Somas and all the brilliants SPs and staff at NYCS prep. I Scored 2 stars and it is all because of the brilliant skills and techniques the staff at NYCS prep provided us. With the help of Dr. Somas and practice from First Aid i was able to prepare the entire exam under 2 weeks. i would highly recommend this course to anyone who can take it

This is the best course ever. I had studied on my own for 1 month or so and I felt so lost and just during the first day of the seminar I realized all the things I was doing wrong.

I have so much confident now and I know that I will pass God willing!

Initially my notes were not up-to the mark , but I am so thankful that you took the time to review my notes everyday even though it was very late and you had to go back home . Many of my colleagues told me that I was following a different pattern of history taking as they had taken a different course , but i trusted your words and stuck to you're format . On the day of my exam I just did whatever you told me to do ,and I talked like how trained me to talk and It worked out well for me . I want to thank all the SP's for helping me achieve my success .

An amazing experience; the staff, SPs, Dr. somas everyone was terrific. There is always someone around to help you with literally ANYTHING you may need. I’ll highly recommend this course every time I have a chance. My only regret is that I didn’t come earlier.
