I would not recommend Pepper Money to anyone who values efficiency and modern customer service.
For a financial services provider operating in 2026, many of their processes feel unnecessarily outdated. For example, the only payment method available to me has been direct debit. If a payment is missed, there is no simple online option to rectify it. Instead, customers are required to call the customer service team, which often involves extremely long wait times. As I write this review, I have been on hold for 29 minutes waiting to make a payment.
Adding an Authorised Representative is also far more cumbersome than it should be. The process requires printing, signing and returning a paper form. While this may have been standard practice years ago, it feels out of step with the digital capabilities offered by most modern lenders.
What is most frustrating is that Pepper Money has invested in an online customer portal that gives the impression of a contemporary banking experience, yet it offers very limited functionality when it comes to managing your account. Many tasks that should be simple and self-service still require manual intervention and lengthy phone calls.
These barriers create unnecessary inconvenience for customers who are simply trying to manage their accounts responsibly. Rather than making it easy to resolve minor issues, the systems seem designed in a way that adds friction to the customer experience.
Based on my experience, I would rather refinance or pay out my loan entirely than continue dealing with these processes—which is exactly what I intend to do, once someone answers the phone.

Very bad lender. My car got stolen and insurance is about to pay off the loan. PepperMoney keep adding late fees on monthly payment when it is discussed that the loan will be paid off soon.

They took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and helped guide me through my financial situation without making me feel judged or rushed. Their kindness and professionalism made a big difference and helped take a lot of pressure off my shoulders.
