Peruvian Connection was founded by mother and daughter team, Biddy and Annie Hurlbut. Today, the company continues to be led by our owner and founder, Annie Hurlbut. Our in-house design team doubles as fashion archaeologists, uncovering historic motifs and patterns from around the world. These historic influences are reimagined into designs that marry global textile traditions with modern, wearable silhouettes. Our knitwear collections are made in Peru by the same skilled artisans that we have partners with for decades. Many of the designs we create are produced in female-owned cottage industries where wages are higher than the local average and where transportation, food and childcare are often provided. I am extremely disappointed with…

I am extremely disappointed with Peruvian Connection. After reading other reviews I find my situation of not being able to return a shirt I purchased in November is not an isolated incident!
As others I have been repeatedly told they are experiencing trouble with their returns as if it had just occurred but now know it was a lie! It has been going o n since June yet they continue to sell. Very unfair to their customer-I want my money back.

Shambolic

Shambolic! Can't really be put any other way.
Have bought a few things previously, and its mostly been a positive experience. However, the most recent one has not been.
I ordered a Christmas top for my wife in the black Friday Sale on 30th November. The estimated delivery date came and went mid December. Nothing, and no communications. When chased, I was told there was no idea when it would be in stock.
When it did finally arrive in their US warehouse (mid Jan) the payment authorization was no longer valid, and the top has gone elsewhere. Whilst they did try to contact me, seemed way to keen to sell to someone else. Very frustrating given I've waited almost 8 weeks for them to sort themselves out.

Will seriously think twice about using again. Its a real pity as they have nice stuff, but their stock control and general customer service is way too haphazard compared with other companies

The payment authorization itself was not an issue — we would have been very happy to keep the item reserved for you while you had time to re-authorize your card. Unfortunately, as we didn’t receive a response after multiple contact attempts, the order was ultimately cancelled.

Disappointed customer

I ordered the Flanders Tank Dress in the Black Friday sale. The dress was too large but also not the quality I was expecting.

I tried to return it on 2 December 25 via their return portal and was surprised to get a message that the return needed to be authorised first. I heard nothing further so a week later I called and was informed of an issue with their returns system. I followed the call up with several emails each response was a standard email re: problems with their system but no idea of a timescale to sort this. Why can’t they just do a manual return? That’s when I searched for issues with Peruvian Connection and came across many complaints on Trustpilot and discovered that the company had been sold.

So just as a previous customer said, I am also stuck with an item which is of no value to me as it is too big and poor quality but they still have my money. I have been a customer for many years and have not had any issues in the past. The clothes, generally, are of good quality but this situation just isn't credible. I won't be buying again and would not recommend Peruvian Con.

Appalling returns experience - like many others

Like most others, my returns experience has been appalling and I am still waiting for the return label. I will not be purchasing again as the items are expensive and I simply cannot risk not being able to return the item easily. Returns process is so very important for buyers. Very very disappointed.

I have been a loyal customer of…

I have been a loyal customer of Peruvian connection for some years now and love their products. However this is a second time round situation for me regarding a problem return . I had some understanding the first time it happened as I believe the uk store and offices had been closed and they were experiencing some difficulties but it looks like nothing has changed Although customer services are very polite every time you contact them it takes days/weeks even for them to reply and it is impossible to get your order returned as the label is never sent ?? . I think it's time to give up on Peruvian connection I don't think they want the UK Market . We have specific legislation in the uk on returning goods which this company does not seem to adhere to. Please avoid the disappointment of ordering unless of course you are certain of what you want and know don't need a return. The only other option if paid for the goods on a credit card could be to explore action that way and claim a refund from them . They will then claim funds from the company direct for not flowing the refund policy and customer rights . They only have a reasonable amount of time to process these refunds and from the feedback on Trustpilot it’s sounds the process is not being taken seriously and completely unreasonable with their responses and actions

Still waiting for return label and my…

Still waiting for return label and my refund like many others. When changing any system there should be a back up plan in place. It really is sad that their reputation has been ruined by this situation. Some people cannot afford to not have a refund ....hopefully something postive will happen soon....never ever have I come across this situation before !!

This would be zero stars if allowed

This would be zero stars if allowed. I am so very disappointed with this company, I have been a customer for decades and have exactly the same issue with returns as other reviewers here have. It is completely unacceptable to treat customers in this way and frankly they should issue the refunds automatically and then when they sort out their issues, ask us to return the items. I bought the item in early November and still am unable to return it or get a refund. I wonder if perhaps they have serious financial problems but if they treat loyal customers this way they will only hasten their own demise. Sad for them but angry making for the customers.

Cannot return anything

After 2 1/2 months, still not in receipt of a Return Label. I get e-mails from Peruvian every day showing their products but NO mention of being unable to return anything. They are making thousands in interest at our expense and they need to pay all the people who have registered a return NOW plus a generous voucher from all the money they have made.

Unable to return goods and get a refund

As others have said, the company is unable to generate the return label so customers cannot send the goods back and obtain the refund.
The same excuses from the customer service and, reading the comments below, this issue has been ongoing since August 2025 for over 4 months now.

It is clear that the company is in financial trouble.

I filed the report with Federal Trade Commission in the USA siting all the details including those of other customers who shared their unresolved return/refund issues. This report will be entered in the FTC consumer database and available to federal, state and local law enforcement across the country.

It is unacceptable to treat customers this way.

Peruvian connection used to be a great company until after they shut down their UK operations.

Warning: please do not buy anything from PC, unless you 100% know you will not need to return the goods.

Further to the response below from PC "actively working on providing your return label and will issue it as soon as our system is fully operational" has been ongoing for over four months as evidenced by the customers reviews here.
There is no trust left in the company.
As I said the same promises given to all customers for months. A reputable company would have long posted on its website that currently returns are not possible. Yet PC has not so it holds on to the customers money.

I raised the dispute with the credit company.

What’s the truth !

Wow. I don’t know who’s writing the responses to the complaints about their IT problems and inability to generate returns labels but they should think about writing fiction books as well !! I too am waiting for a returns label to obtain a refund. I think Peruvian connection should tell us all the truth about what is going on.

Nachlassende Qualität und zu hohe Preise

Ich bestellt seit Jahrzehnten bei Peruvian Connection. Die Kataloge sind sehr künstlerisch, ich liebe sie.
Schöne Modelle, früher von exzellenter Qualität und preislich hoch, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt für außergewöhnliche Mode.
Leider lässt die Qualität seit Jahren immer mehr nach. Viele Modal-Kleider sind z.B. dabei, die sehr dünn sind und den Preis einfach nicht weit. Im Katalog sieht alles perfekt aus. Und langsam kann man sich die Preise nicht mehr leisten, vor allem, wenn die Qualität nicht stimmt; Vieles ist mittlerweile "Made in China". Äußerst schade.

Returns are currently impossible

My mother purchased an expensive jacket that turns out not to fit. As others have said, returns are currently impossible. She is retired and living on a fixed income, and is very anxious about losing the £600 she spent. I understand that sometimes IT issues take a long time to fix, but the company should have found a temporary solution by now. Unacceptable.

Update: having looked at other review sites and the UK government site tracking company financial filings, I wouldn't be surprised if this company is going under. Beware!

On 18 November my mother ordered a…

On 18 November my mother ordered a lovely looking creeping Vine T Neck Dress in Navy costing £237.50 but the quality of hem stitching wasn't very good and so she looked to return the item. After completing the returns online form and numerous chase ups to obtain a returns label she has not received the information and only had excuses about the IT system. This is completely unsatisfactory from a trusted company and as it stands would not consider buying from this company again. She has been left with a dress that she is not happy with and no option to obtain a refund for £237.50. We are looking into trading standards options as this is very upsetting for her.

Such a shame

Such a shame, this Company used to sell great quality clothing. The layering tee that I bought was nowhere near as good as they used to be. I tried to return the item on 27th December 2025 and having received no further instructions, I phoned and was told there is an issue with printing returns labels. The order are shipped from the US. Whilst the return period has been extended there was no other solution for getting my refund. All very unsatisfactory and I will not be using the Company again.

Just terrible

Ordered a dress in September. Cheap, thin material, poor quality, nothing like the images and not worth a quarter of what I paid. Been trying to return & chasing refund ever since, endless excuses about 'returns portal' issues. Four months now and no closer to getting my money back. Will never order again.

It is now over 4 months since I…

It is now over 4 months since I requested to return some items and receive a refund. The refund is for hundreds of pounds. Not a trivial matter. I have been a loyal customer for 30 years and feel betrayed. Peruvian Connection has made ineffectual remarks about how difficult it is to obtain a returns label. They continue to sell items online but have no intention of accepting any returns. Beware all of you of buying from them.

Like others I would like to give a zero…

Like others I would like to give a zero rating. I have been waiting for a return label since Oct 2025 and am continually told it is a technical issue. I suspect even if I do ever get one I will be like everyone else and not receive a refund. I just don’t seem to be able to let it go though, as morally how can a company continue to operate in this manor? In the past I have bought clothes from them, and been pleased with my purchases. This time I was not happy with the clothes, the quality or the fit hence the need to return items.

Waiting for over two months for a refund

I tried to return an item at the beginning of November, 2025 as the item was too big. I was told that there was an IT issue with the return label and they were unable to process the return at that time. I am still waiting for that label two months later. I have contacted Customer Services on several occasions. I eventually asked for an address for me to return the item back to them but but the question was avoided and I got the standard "thank you for reaching out" nonsense. So I am stuck with an item which is of no value to me as it is too big but they still have my money on which they earn interest. I have been a customer for some years and have not had any issues in the past. The clothes, generally, are of good quality but this situation just isn't credible.

We are very sorry for the delay you have experienced and for the understandable frustration this situation has caused.

Unfortunately, our returns portal has been affected by an internal technical issue, which has prevented us from generating return labels as normal. This issue has taken far longer to resolve than anticipated, and we sincerely apologise that you have been waiting for such an extended period.

Please be assured that your return request is fully documented on our system and that as soon as the system is back up and running, we will generate the return label immediately and email it to you so you can return the item without any further inconvenience. The return window will be extended accordingly so that there is no risk of falling outside of the return window.

We truly value your loyalty as a long-standing customer and regret that this experience has not reflected the level of service you should expect from Peruvian Connection. Your feedback has been shared internally and is taken very seriously as we work to resolve this matter for all affected customers.

If I could’ve given no stars I I would’ve done.

If I could’ve given no stars I would’ve done. I bought three T-shirts on Black Friday which were meant to have 25% taken off at checkout - they didn’t.I had been waiting to see if they reduced on Black Friday because they were expensive for T-shirts. I therefore re-ordered them when the deal was still on on the Saturday phoned up on Monday morning to try and stop the full price ones but they said 1 had already been sent..They did manage to stop two however. it it all sounded very chaotic. Two more arrived the following week on different days and not at the time the emails advised me- 1 on a different day. It was a complete jumble all arriving in separate parcels and from different orders - some of which I tried to cancel. I called Customer service to request a refund label,but was told that they were having problems printing out their refunds. I subsequently phoned on a number of occasions and have tried to phone Last week, but it was Christmas week so I can understand it was maybe closed or whatever. It’s obvious from some other reviews that this has been happening a lot. Do not buy from Peruvian on any account I would never buy again - I wish to return all my garments. I wanted the money to go towards Christmas and it’s been extremely inconvenient but also unethical. I have dealt with them in the past and didn’t have problems but I can say categorically I will not be dealing with them again. Considering the problems they’re having I’ve had about three or four marketing brochures in that time and numerous emails. If they are unable to cope with the full sales and returns process, they should indeed be stopping marketing or at least informing people that they can’tdo returns. I will be contacting Trading standards as soon as the Holiday is over if this isnot resolved very quickly. One very unsatisfied Customer.

No longer a (long term) customer

Noting the semi-annual sale I logged on to have a look at a very attractive cotton tunic with a floral design. Down to £229 to from £292. Having formerly been a customer of Peruvian Connection for many, many, years I would rarely buy from them now. Of course prices everywhere have gone up post Covid but a combination of greatly increased prices and reduced quality of the materials is disappointing. The recent reviews are about customer service which I can't comment on, however my former experiences were very positive. Originally secialising in "museum quality" intricate design hand-knits in alpaca, I used to purchase perhaps a couple a year plus other less exotic items. I'm in the fortunate position of having a number of these beautiful knits in my wardrobe but these days there are few handknits and outside of my price range anyway. Wool is also included as a fibre now which personally I cannot wear, many cotton items now have elastic fibres and overall, although some of the designs are still excellent, the quality is just not the same. When I was buying regularly I always found customer services helpful, delivery speedy with returns and refunds processed rapidly. Even to the extent of helping me with timing to avoid a credit card charge where I was ordering more than one item for fit. This is not really a complaint more like the sadness of losing a valued friend.
