I'm an electrical contractor that have done a small amount of work for peteralan and found them very rude and unaccomadating. I have several invoices unpaid and cannot seem to get the payment for the work I have carried out.

Contractors beware they won't pay

Deliberately obstructive because they wanted to take over doing the gas certification themselves to make a few extra quid.
When they want you its all smiles but once your number is in their caller ID and they have what they want, they will not answer.
In this case they chose to lose the landlord a months rent rather than make a simple call to Gas Safe to confirm an engineer's registration - all very deliberately.

This review is based on my honest opinion of the way a tenant has been treated by Peter Alan.
First the property was dirty when moving in and even kitchen cupboards still had rubbish left from previous tenant.
Even worse than that after the washing machine broke down they were left for 4 months without one. Finally when it was replaced it ended up flooding the kitchen and property below.
This has led to great inconvenience and significant expense for the tenant with having to make trips to the launderette. Not to mention the stress of trying to get it sorted with Peter Alan whom were very slow in response. £100 compensation doesn't begin to cover it!
Avoid these agents they clearly have little regard for what they put their tenants through!

I know someone who had to do their washing at a laundromat for 4 months because Peter Alan delayed repairing a washing machine. When they finally replaced it, it flooded the kitchen and left the property unusable for another few months. They offered her only £100 compensation for all this, which doesn't even cover the cleaning and laundry she had to do on her own. In my opinion Peter Alan is a terrible letting agency, with their dismissive and incompetent attitude towards tenants.

This is an honest review of my experience with Peter Alan. I've been trying to help someone I know get compensation from Peter Alan, because they left her without a washing machine for months. When they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside (leaving the tenant to deal with it) and they installed the new machine so badly it flooded her kitchen and a neighbouring flat. My friend had to pay to use a laundrette for many months because of this. Peter Alan has only offered £100 in compensation, and when we contacted them arguing that she was owed more, they were extremely rude to us. I hope things improve but at this moment I cannot recommend them as a letting agent.

Tenants beware, avoid if you can!
The following is my honest review of experiences from dealing with Peter Alan. My friend renting with Peter Alan had a broken washing machine which was ignored for months, leaving them to pay the costs of a laundromat. Then when the agency finally got round to fixing it, they fly-tipped the old washing machine onto the street, and didn’t install the new one properly, causing the kitchen to flood and water damage at the neighbours. Peter Alan cut corners wherever they can: they also promised a clean flat at the start of the tenancy, but it was so filthy and full of junk upon moving in that a professional deep clean was required, at the expense of the tenant!

Someone i know is renting from Peter Alan, and they left her without a working washing machine for months - when they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside leaving her to deal with it, and the new machine was installed poorly, flooding her kitchen so badly that it leaked down to the property below. She had to pay to use a laundrette all those months, and the only compensation they've offered is £100, which doesn't come close to the costs she's had to swallow. In my honest opinion they don't care about their tenants.

I went with some friends to support a recent tenant of Peter Alan's, who's been seriously messed about by them - they took 4 months to replace a broken washing machine, and flooded the kitchen installing the new one. The compensation they offered was less than the cost of the damage the flood incurred on her, and far less than the costs of living without a washing machine for months while they prevaricated on a solution.

When we went over there, as a group, to make sure she wouldn't be talked over or bullied, they locked us out of the building and went home for the day!

Absolutely appaling response to honest criticism, and a real showing of the character of their agents: happy to be a smiling face when you sign the tenancy agreement, but nowhere to be seen when the blame comes back to them. A true professional would have taken the critique with grace and promised to do better, but there were no such agents present on that day.

Completely screwed over a mate of mine and just have to leave my honest opinion. Left them paying to get laundry done elsewhere as their washing machine was broken for over 4 months. They fly tipped it into the street and when they installed a new one, managed to balls that up and flooded the kitchen. No clue how they managed this as installing a washing machine isn't exactly rocket science. For all this they've only offered her £100... I'm sure the landlord insurance will pay them more than that for the screwed up kitchen!

Completely rotten, be warned.

Peter Alan - Bridgend / Maesteg lettings - Woeful experience as a landlord - total lack of communications. Did not bother to take over the tenancies from my previous agent and no communication - chased and chased and then failed to return my calls - now have to g o back to the previous agent. Luke Sales and Lettings manager cannot be trusted and does not return calls - all talk and no substance.

Very good at renting, terrible at repairs.
Been waiting over a week for a kitchen tap to be repaired,it leaks constantly, waited in all morning only to find out the plumber had been cancelled, nobody informed us, luckily I saved his number and was able to contact him and he informed the job had been cancelled by Peter Alan

Avoid at all costs.This estate agent rented out a property that was not fit for human habitation.Major issues with mould and damp, no hot water on move in day, boiler leak and various health and safety issues.They took no responsibility nor showed remorse for renting out a property in such a terrible condition.The lack of professionalism and integrity displayed by Daisy, Brian and the regional manager Matthew Rich has been appalling.I was also told by the matience manager that despite all these profound issues , I had to deal with it as I had signed the contract.Fortunately, I was able to terminate the contract and get a full refund.However, the fact this property was on the market in the first place reflects the disregard for tenants well being and the sole focus on making a profit.This property is currently being rented out and to my knowledge, it is still not fit for human habitation.

I've recently had to report a maintenance issue and am so very impressed with professional service I received from Daniel he was very helpful and got the issue resolved very quickly!

Just sold my property with Peter Alan and cannot rate them highly enough. From Rachel with the valuation to Robyn and Casey throughout, you have been fabulous. Got loads of viewers through the door and over the asking price sale. No drama at all with excellent communication. Basically you did what you promised when I signed up with you. Thanks so much and I would definitely recommend!!!

The agents are not straightforward and their properties not good. You can't get your deposit refund when you move out they will come up with different complaints.

If you do NOT want info on a house you are seriously interested in, contact Peter Alan, Merthyr Tydfill branch. 2 emails and a phone call where I was promised a call back further and nothing. Surprised they are still in business to be honest?

The 1 star is the lowest I can give ,made an offer was excepted rung to say my property had been sold and I could proceed only to be told it had been greeted by a cretin on the phone mumbling that they would ring me back no call back rung next day to same cretin mumbling and asking me the same question over again then passing me on to explained the situation only to be told that it was sold to another party , no communication to me about this I was gob smacked ,only to get sorry I've been out of the office 2 weeks and this has never happened before ,rung my estate agent to tell them and was told its illegal to do this ,had a phone call in the afternoon to say the deal may be back on if I up my offer I said it's not possible , then with in 5mins had a phone call back to say there sticking with the other party , and a feeble sorry if we can help you in anything let us now , had to hold back never in a million years would I deal with you again , have had bad experience with estate agents in the past but this topped it all off for me so please do not deal with this lot GORSEINON branch

If i could give zero i would. Communication between departments is shocking, an absolute joke of a company. Complained about repairs being down in the house and they couldn"t care less if they got done or not so ended up getting evicted cos we complained. Then to top it off they took a key penalty out of our bond which we knew nothing about. Be warned they do have hidden costs. In fact don't even go there if your thinking of renting .

Absolutely disgusting expierience living under 30 Hanbury Road in Pontypool for over 2 years with mould and damp with a child who has developed skin issues and Peter Alan or the landlord not doing anything about it nor returning our deposit back over after a month we have moved out of the property. Do not rent out from them if you wanted to be treated like you do not matter and your health be put at risk
