It’s important to note that Google itself doesn’t host personal data. It simply indexes information that already exists on other websites. That means the only way those results disappear is when the information is removed from the original site. PrivacyHawk focuses on helping remove your data from data broker websites and other sources that legally collect and sell personal information. If the result is coming from a data broker, we can usually help remove it. However, if the listing comes from a personal account or platform you control, such as a social media profile, that would need to be managed directly through that service.

I signed up for a year subscription
I signed up for a year subscription. THREE TIMES I’ve had to go back and forth proving I still had an active subscription. Three times my access was cut off and I was asked to subscribe for the platinum or premium service to continue. Not only did they want ME to prove it, the first time they had no record of me at all!!! I’m still going back and forth, today I was re-given (if that’s even a word) access. In all I’ve lost over a month of access I’ve paid for and they aren’t interested in doing anything. I got an automatic response for a year free. I responded with “ok”. Then someone “official” emailed back with a complete different offer. One that would not benefit me to continue for the after my year subscription ends… if I ever get that year uninterrupted. Funny how they are going to protect your data and help remove your digital footprint when you have to keep sending emails just to access something that you have paid for

You originally had two active subscriptions at the same time: one through Apple and another through our web app. When you opted out of the Apple subscription and then requested a refund for the web subscription, processing that refund unintentionally canceled all active service tied to your account, including the remaining months from Apple. That’s why your access kept getting interrupted.
Once we identified what happened, we worked with Apple to restore the remaining time on your subscription. After everything was fixed, you still wanted to take advantage of the free year we initially offered. Because your subscription was originally purchased through Apple, we aren’t able to extend, modify, or add time to that subscription on our side. Apple controls those billing settings directly.
To make sure you can still receive the full free year without any more interruptions, we recommended switching to a monthly plan through our web app which would allow us to apply the entire year of service seamlessly.

So far Privacy Hawk has indentified and removed a good number of data brokers who I had no idea were selling my information! I also received a good number of return emails from legitimate companies that they will address this problem while others have been problematic but Privacy Hawk is persuading these companies and sending me information to contact them to directly contact them as well.

I work in the marketing/communications department of a healthcare company. Our company has received numerous emails that appear to be from PrivacyHawk clients requesting we no longer send them promotional emails.
These emails are sent from and therefore include, the client's email address and full name. In all cases to date, the client email address does not appear in any of our email contact databases.
This means that PrivacyHawk is sending their clients' email addresses and names to companies that did not have this information in the first place.

PrivacyHawk never shares, sells, or distributes our users’ information to any company. What you’re describing sounds like a false positive triggered by our Digital Footprint and Unsubscribe tools.
Here’s how it works: when a user connects their email to PrivacyHawk, our tool scans their inbox for email domains that may represent potential privacy vulnerabilities, meaning companies that have emailed them in the past. The tool then helps users send opt-out or unsubscribe requests directly from their own email account. This ensures the requests come from the user, not from PrivacyHawk, and only to companies whose domains appeared in their inbox scan.
Occasionally, a company’s domain may appear in a user’s inbox indirectly (for example, through forwarded or referenced emails), which can result in a false positive, a situation where a user sends a request to a company they don’t actually have a relationship with.
We understand how this can be confusing, and we’re continually improving our detection methods to minimize these rare occurrences.
