Protyre Autocare - Bridgend Princes Way Avis 

As most people, I only leave review if I am very annoyed or very surprised / satisfied.

I had an issue that was dealt with in professional manner and resolved quickly.

The manager Andrew Kriescher resolved my issue very quickly which I was pleased with, despite the issue occurring prior to his appointment at Bridgend, Princess Way.

I also had good service from the female technical floor manager, who actually seems to care about car issues and understands they are critical at 70mph which was obvious with my own issues and with other customers.

So yes, I am pleased with the Bridgend Branch in 2026 so here is my positive review, the difference in hiring the correct staff that care is like night and day!

So imagine being a tyre/ wheel shop and refusing to fit BRAND NEW WHEELS/ TYRES. You’re still going to get your hourly labour charge. Absolutely ridiculous. Imagine turning down £70 for less than 5 minutes worth of work.

Last time I ever use this company. Word will be spread.

They fitted me in on time, gave me a clear understanding of what they were doing an d gave me a cost of the job before doing it.

Did what they said friendly

Dropped my wife's car off at 9.00 for 4 new tyres (£649) and requested it be ready by 12.00. Advised I would be called when ready. No call by 11.50, although when I called advised that it was ready. Immediately on driving car after collection my wife noticed dashboard low tyre pressure warning. Although on collection we were advised that computer had been reset, it clearly had not been. On arriving back home I had to check all tyres (one was 2 bar below recommended level) and had to reset computer. Mediocre service for a spend of £649.
UPDATE. However, yesterday took my A5 in with suspected puncture. Immediately identified as non repairable with bolt in tread near sidewall. Branch manager Andrew ordered a replacement (a non-stock 19" Michelin Cross Climate) which was delivered yesterday afternoon and fitted efficiently at 9.30 am this morning. Tyre price was also very competitive. Have used this branch (formerly Celtic Tyres) since 1980, and this is back to the service that I expect

Booked an MOT and service, turned up and they told me I was at the wrong garage. Eventually found my booking. It needed 2 new tyres, new brake pads and a windscreen wipers. Windscreen wipers needed to be ordered, asked if I needed the car, ideally I said yes. Contacted me back to say that they failed it on its MOT and it was ready to collect. If they'd have told me that I'd have left it there overnight. Took it back the next day, wipers was fitted and it passed its MOT, only to find they've given it back with the air con broken. Its been a month now and one of the new tyres they've fitted, the warning lights come on 4 times in one month. Extremely expensive mistake taking it here.

Very happy with the service received in having 4 new tyres fitted. The staff were efficient and professional and I would certainly return there should the need arise.

I wasn’t left waiting around long which was good, they got on with the job promptly. A couple of issues, the tyre pressure was wrong, which they sorted and they left a wheel trim off a wheel that I had to go back for.

I booked a tyre the day before and was given a booking time in Bridgend of 1030 - dont be late! I arrived on time and my key taken having called ahead to check and was advised it was on site. Some time later I was told the tyre had not arrived and to come in later in the day. The chap on the desk said he would call when it was there. He did not, I had to call again to confirm. I took two separate chunks of time off work to facilitate this. Sorry but not the best experience.

So easy to make an appointment, they also changed it for me so I could be seen earlier. The service was quick, professional and great update on the condition of my other tyres too.

Competitive pricing with strait forward ordering and fitting. Free wheel alignment was beneficial and had a comprehensive assessment from the technician

Quick and helpful response

Tyres were competively priced, but despite bing booked in for 8.30am it was over an hour before my car was brought into the workshop due to staff shortages.

Going abroad I thought I should check the tyres even though they looked ok. I just turned up and I was fitted in and indeed I needed a tyre and tracking. Next time I will book in plenty of time. Staff were good as was the price

The young lady who was assigned to the repairs kept me informed of progress and options on a frequent basis

Good price for the service. MoT completed in good time. Staff polite and courteous.
