Reliable Property Group Avis 

We specifically asked for a surveyor, Kim, to survey our prospective house, having seen her survey our property for someone buying our flat. She was so thorough and exacting. An excellent service. I highly recommend.

I found the whole process so straight forward. I got a call from Reliable Property Group and Myra and Monique get everything for the survey arranged and I paid the cost securely over the phone.
The survey was completed by Joshua Kings who gave me text updates of when he had left the property and when the report would be available. The report was sent to me on the evening of the day it took place and I was really relieved of how simple the survey process was. Highly recommend.

We commissioned Reliable in the summer of 2022 to provide us with a survey that was compliant with government regulations so that we could redeem our help to buy loan. Reliable assured us that they could meet our requirements. Unfortunately their original survey did not include crucial context and so incorrectly valued our property, after a prolonged back and forth they did take this into account and provided a new report, the most recent of which took place on the 6th March 2023. Having submitted this to Homes England, the government agency reviewing reports for this purpose, they deemed it to be unsatisfactory on a number of points. As such we have had to purchase a new report so we are able to progress with our purchase. It is over 14 months since we commissioned Reliable and we have continually received emails advising us we would receive a response within a certain amount of days only for that to pass with no response. Correspondence has always been polite and pleasant but unfortunately Reliable have not provided the product they said they could, and have not kept their word. I would recommend using another surveyor.

Addendum: I pursued a complaint with Reliable in June 2023. Unfortunately it was not progressed in line with their complaints policy and so I had to pursue it a number of times. At this point I began to request a refund for the faulty report and poor service we had received. Initially I was advised this would not be possible but this position was changed after escalation and I'm happy to report that as of the 23rd September, Reliable have now refunded me the cost of their faulty survey. Alas there was no additional consideration of the time spent resolving this matter and our loss of money as a consequence of not being able to use this survey at the time we needed it (to be fair we did not specifically request this) but given the difficulties of arriving at this point it felt like the right decision to accept this offer and draw a line under the matter, regardless of how unsatisfactory the entire experience had been.

Although we ended up using a different surveyor, Reliable were very punctual, courteous and informative. We shopped around 10 different surveyors but found their materials to be some of the most comprehensive for a Grade 2 and would absolutely have gone with them had we not had such a good offer from a recently qualified RICS friend of a friend.

Really prompt and clear communication throughout, with a thorough survey and plenty of focus on the "so what". Our surveyor, Kim D, proactively reached out after the report was finalised and offered a follow up call to discuss the findings which, as first time buyers, was very much appreciated.

The phone conversation I had with them before we booked the survey was helpful, informative and not at all pushy in fact they persuaded us that a more in depth , and therefore expensive, survey was not necessary.

The surveyor liaised with the homeowner to book a mutually convenient time within a week of our accepting their quote and reported back quickly. We had several questions about the survey and booked a phone appointment with her which was really helpful. She explained things in layman’s terms and made it clear she would be happy to talk again if we had more questions or concerns.

All in all a satisfactory and reassuring experience. I would recommend unreservedly.
