Given the relatively high cost of these products—comparable to that of a fully audited and compliant console imported from Japan prior to its release, I conducted independent research to identify relevant contacts and gather data regarding pre-production stress testing.
Unfortunately, my findings suggest that the product’s actual origin is China, despite claims on the official website stating that it is manufactured in the United States by Mike Chi. This discrepancy may also explain why international orders are shipped from Hong Kong rather than the U.S. Additionally, this raises concerns about the potential presence of counterfeit or duplicate units in the market.
In attempting to contact customer support, I was redirected solely to a Discord community. There appears to be no formal support team in place. Instead, interactions are primarily with a mix of experienced users, resellers (some of whom promote prices significantly above official listings), and uninformed participants presenting themselves as authoritative sources. As a result, there is no reliable or structured customer service framework to safeguard consumer rights.
From a development and production standpoint, there is a lack of publicly available information regarding testing phases prior to release. The product appears to be largely open-source driven and does not demonstrate clear compliance with standard consumer safety or reliability benchmarks.
Specific concerns include:
1) The durability and expected operational lifespan before failure
2) The risk of accidental damage to connected high-value devices
3) Heat generation under varying conditions, including potential fire hazards
