Paid in full for a Tesla Model S. Days after payment was received, SBT informed me the car had a mechanical problem and couldn't be purchased. I immediately requested a refund and submitted all required documents refund form, ID, and bank statement.

Over two weeks later, still no refund. Every follow-up via WhatsApp and email gets either an automated response or a promise that someone will get back to me "tomorrow." My account manager has been on leave the entire time with no one covering.

I have since sent a formal demand letter and am escalating through my bank. This pattern, taking payment, car unavailable, refund promised but never delivered appears repeatedly across reviews on this platform. Buyer beware.

They will never take you serious once you deposit money. Shit service rude and unprofessional staff they literally don’t even know how to speak and write English

Do not reach out to them or leave your contact information. I was initially interested in getting a Japanese import to the UK, and reached out to them. They then replied my enquiries but later even when I am no longer interested in getting a car from Japan, they continued to bombard me with messages and the emails cannot be unsubscribed. The add your account to third party bulk mail spam services and I have no choice but to block them. This tells a lot about a company.

It was HORRIBLE! I am still waiting on our money to be returned! 3 months! We negotiated a price for a month on a Truck. We agreed and they sent an invoice for $53000 usd. We paid it immediately! Then 1 week later, said that the price had gone up, but they were not sure how much, they quoted between $3500 to $11,000USD extra! They wanted me to approve the price range. I said no. We agreed and we paid an invoice for that amount. Now after months we are trying to get the money returned. Constant harassment and overwhelming amount of calls, messages and emails. We still don't have our money back! SCAM! Don't send them your money.

I’ve purchased three vehicles from SBT Japan before — two on financing terms and one paid in full — and I returned expecting the same level of service. Instead, I received conflicting stories from different reps, no clear policy, word games and zero accountability.

One rep told me that customers with 2–3 previous purchases could access financing terms. When I confirmed I already had THREE purchases, he suddenly handed me off to another agent. That agent then told me the complete opposite — that I’d have to buy 2–3 MORE vehicles within a small time frame before I could qualify.

So which is it?
Why does the policy change depending on the person you speak to? And what happened to the great service I'd received previously.

I've had other incidents, but this last one is where I draw the line.

It feels unprofessional, unorganised, and frankly unfair for loyal customers who have spent thousands of dollars with them. If you’re considering buying from SBT, be prepared for moving goalposts, unfair treatment and inconsistent information.

As a returning customer, I expected better. I will be spending my money elsewhere.

I`ve purchased a few cars from them and some are ok but the last one had the wrong documentation and i can`t register it in my country. They wouldn`t take responsibility for it and kept making excuses. They made a lot of promises that they would sort out the problem but actually did nothing. Its been a year now and i`ve given up. I`m stuck with a car that cost me £19000 and i can`t use or do anything with.

so dear team. I'm really out of patients. it past 4 month since i've try to get my deposit back without result. i work with you more than 2 years and we get planty cars.

Gearbox went on the car 3 weeks after purchase, also another car arrived with broken headlight and the company failed to provide emissions data for registration in my country, there very happy taking ur money but when there is a problem they will do nothing to help u

Used SBT for 30 years but the last 4 years I’ve had a lot of bad cars , lot of damage , you will not get any action from SBT just excuses , this is not a Japanese company anymore , promise everything and never check or stand by their vehicles

Ordered 2 vehicles from SBT. The 1st vehicle had a mechanical fault and was $ 1000 to repair. 2nd vehicle arrived with damage to the rear which SBT said they will repair but 1 month later still no feedback, not taking my calls. Furthermore the vehicle was received with no spare key, spare tyre or tools. This was in the advertising photos. SBT saying that is how it is. FALSE ADVERTISING!

Sbk Japan is horrible it’s going to be 1 year and still no vehicle and they refuse to give me my refund. Please do not order from here

This Company has a useless after sales service. They dont respond to complaints at all. They just sell cars NO after sales service

I purchased a vehicle last year I was told I would receive the car at a particular time and didn't. When I did receive the car it was two toned,the air condition didn't work the wheel had issues, the car cut off while driving etc. I messaged them told them there was no way the car had been through inspection even though I paid $250 separately for inspection.
Their response was to get estimates and they would give me a credit. I was told they don't give refunds. I sent pictures and videos of the issues.
Im not supporting then anymore.
I suggest if you are thinking about buying a vehicle from them,DON'T.

they've ruined the website, the usual UI/UX designer 'i have to do something to keep my job so i'll make it worse'. can't look at any results because it's just loading going round and round forever, have to refresh up to 5 times to get it to work

The company sold me a faulty car that needs a new gearbox. The state of the car was not disclosed to me and when I brought it up with the company they have been giving me the run around for over 3 months with no resolution being offered. Save yourself the stress
