I’m in a domestic violence shelter where we have to put money on a card for safety reasons I did just that put $100 on a securespend prepaid card I never swiped my card at all not once by 1129 pm that evening $100 dollars was to from my card from Camden Military school I was told to call Merchant I did they for person but now I have to wait 45 days for them to even look at my dispute lord I’m be dead are on street by then and all I keep asking us how do you get a prepaid card and not swipe it but still get ripped off and the way Secure Spend treats me is like getting abused all over again I almost lost my life for that money and it’s just gone with no explanation are anything I know there has to be a law suit I can file some where are way ?

SecureSpend.com Gift card is out rageous.They charge you for decline purchases.300.00 dollars went down the drain with me. I'm 69 years old disable and handicap senior on a pension ssa. Now I spend the monies on the card . Now it.78 cents and not even august 3 yet no monies no food for this senior. Idk about you all I notice if you try pay something on line like 10.00 dollars they charge the card 10.00 dollars it's like you giving them the monies. So all this on this card the 300.00 dollars went to them .every decline thing they charge you it's like saying you try charge 78.00 dollars you won't get it back we going take it. Every decline thing you try to get they charge you so everything you tried to charge they take the monies and they won't rememburse you . You won't get it back they keep it. So what the use in buying this card ? What you purchase on line they charge you it won't get back into your account you lost it. So never again I buy this card no use trying get my 300.00 dollars back they won't help you not for this senior .😢

Basically you pay almost 8 dollars to load this useless card and then when u attempt to buy or use it online they block it and want to send u a card in the mail to inconvenience you even more save your money avoid these cards

I dont even make reviews but this company has got to be a scam. They dont care about your needs or THEIR mistakes. Their policies hinder your purchases and make the card useless. And when you’re on the phone with them, they have an attitude and a tone while barely knowing what you are saying (Sorry if English isnt your first language but dont take it out on me)
Still havent gotten the replacement card you promised after a week :) Very upset and will NEVER spend money on the prepaid cards tied to this company EVER again. You are better off with another brand.

Awful. Error every time I try to use it, resulting in locked accounts. SMDH!!!!

This card declines all the time. You can't use it at hardly any online sites or Google or Google wallet, it will decline because it is an "anonymous" card that can't be saved for future use. It has to be a one time purchase. Most places ie Google, play store, etc want you to enter the card number and then just pick that card from your wallet to purchase. This won't do that.

Today, July 7 2025, I went to the dollar store and got a card, i put 120 on it so i could use it online. i got something off of amazon and that's it. after i bought 1 thing on amazon i go check my balace, and for some reason "there was a system error please try again later" its beeing saying this for 1 hour and it sucks.

Place sucks don't get there cards I bought one tried ordering something online it kept declining so now I have to wait 10 days for a new card

this securespend gift card is suck a bull shit company no custumer service when you call. and the card said you can purchase international. it suck a liar, it won't allow you to purchase out side the US and they charge monthly fee

I got a $200 card as a gift. Used it a couple times then for some reason it doesnt work. Call the number on the back and they explain that they blocked the card for fraud. How can you have fraud on a gift card? They have no idea whether or not I am the person who purchased it or not. There is no name associated with it. They told me they needed all my personal information to send me a new card for $29.64. This is obviously a fishing scam to get peoples personal information to put you on lists and whatnot. DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

This card is friggen horrible and so is the customer service which is from India. Before buying and putting money on this card I googled and asked if I could send money through PayPal on an Securespend card and it said YES I COULD. So, I put $370 on it so I could send money to a friend of mine. I register the card and it denied the PayPal transaction. I called Securespend and mister I would be pleased to help you said I couldn’t do PayPal transactions on the card. I could use it at stores and such. I told him I googled the card to make sure I could and it said I could. He said I apologize for the miscommunication but you can’t. So friggen bullshit!t. If I wanted a refund I had to wait for a company check which could take up to 30 days. I couldn’t even use the card in the store to buy another card that I could use. This company is completely misleading and this should be illegal. Now I have $370 on a card that is absolutely useless to me. I hope this company implodes.

So far I’ve had three of these cards (2 Visa, 1 Mastercard), each loaded with $100. I couldn’t activate any of them on their website, but I could over the phone. My money was never stolen, but I’ve yet to find a single website that doesn’t decline them even though it clearly states on the packaging that it can be used for online purchases. In-store purchases have also been very hit-or-miss. Come to think of it, the only store I’ve been able to use these cards at has been Walmart. Customer service, by the way, is worse than useless. They have very thick accents, very poor English comprehension, and you’ll spend at least 2/3 of your time being asked to repeat what you said and asking them to repeat what they said. Not that it matters much since nothing ever gets resolved over the phone. They also love telling you to use their website instead, but nothing on their website works. I literally can’t even report a problem on their website.
Stay away from this company. Even if they don’t steal your money they’ll make it almost impossible to use it.

Purchased at Walmart, added $500. Activated card, first attempt to use card it was declined and apparently that threw a security alert. Call customer service, only option is for them to send me a new card bc the one I just purchased was cancelled. A week later I received my new card and I was just out that $500 for a week. You can't use it to pay any bills...

Purchased card. Checked balance online everything looked good. 30 mins later went to use the card and it was declined. Checked balance and almost all my money was gone. It was used at Target. Called securespend after forever of trying to get ahold of someone I finally did. No help said it would take 90 days to even find out if they will give me my money back. After reading these reviews I have zero faith on getting my money back. Securespend website isn't secure. They are stealing, or allowing someone to steal, your card info!!! DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE CARDS!!! ITS FRAUD!

i created my secure pin went to put gas in the next day and the $100 i put on the card was gone. Transaction says gift2games for $99.99. Cant talk to any human i put in grievance and says june 25 expected case to be done with investigation. 5 months is bs

Secure Spend gift cards are absolutely,100% a money SCAM!! I bought a Secure Spend gift card at 7-Eleven for $100. I went to use it and it was declined, called customer service and talked to somebody in India he said that the card was locked because I tried to check my balance over Wi-Fi??whatever the hell that means?they couldn't unlock it he told me and that I had to wait 7 to 14 days to get a replacement card. Sent me my replacement card 2 weeks later and check the balance... it lets me check the balance! says I have 100 dollars on it.and it's active. I go to use it and it keeps declining... everywhere! After reading all these reviews I see that this is a total scam there's a link on their website that allows you to contact the banking industry in your state I'm in Colorado so there's a form I have to fill out to file a complaint. that's what I'm going to do... everybody should do the same, file a complaint with whoever and anybody you can get these guys shut down.
Seems like money scams and defrauding people out of money seems to be the norm these days so where's the FDIC where's the feds why is anybody shutting these people down and sticking them in federal prison for 10 to 20 years???

My partner gave me 2 of these cards for payment. I was trying to figure out how to get the money off of them because I did some research on them which worried me a lot. It seems people had the same problems - they couldn't use the card. Because of this, I looked into purchasing a reloadable card and settled on the Wal-Mart money card. Luckily, I successfully transferred all of the money (minus $1 to purchase the WM card, and $3 to load the 2nd amount) to the WM card and in a few days, I will take all of my cash off of the WM card (for a fee, of course). After reading all of the subreddits, and trustpilot, I just didn't want to take a chance on not being able to use the Secure Spend cards.
