Difficulty in regards to their customer service.

Excellent equipment. Bought a tank, stand and gravel and other items. Electrics, LED light, and filter in tank. Staff were brilliant and 100% helpful. The condition of their in house fish tanks were immaculate and fish very healthy. Replaced my old tank yesterday, new one beautiful, up and running. THANKS Shirley. you are now my number one aquatic go to.

!!!DO NOT BUY FROZEN FOOD FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Received my order yesterday (07-02-23)which was sent on (06-02-23) which consisted of 1kg of frozen river shrimp 2 x 500g whitebait and 3 bags of large bloodworm and when i opened the package the frozen river shrimp had defrosted, the whitebait had defrosted and the live bloodworm were dead , i emailed yesterday explaining what has happened and then was asked the send proof which i did , then got a phone call today from a lovely lady who was trying to resolve this issue and her manager basically said the food is gamma radiated and therefore can be refrozen . But im not risking re freezing food that i would be feeding to very expensive and long lived fish which im sure a lot of other people would feel the same about and although they agreed to refund the dead bloodworm , they refused to refund or replace the so called "frozen" food which wasnt very frozen at all , its safe to say i will never be ordering from them again!!!

The filter pump in my aquarium failed and I phoned Shirley Aquatics to see if they had a replacement in stock. Their computer said they had just one so they carried out a physical stock check to confirm they still had it. They then put it aside for me to collect later. It was a bit pricey compared to getting one from the internet but I needed it immediately so I was happy to pay the extra. They were very friendly and very helpful.

Asked to buy a fish of which was advertised for sale, and was told “one of their friends wants it, so I can’t buy it” even though their friend had not even left a deposit.

Not very professional, and after working 10+ years in retail myself, quite frankly shocked

Visited recently looking for advice on controlling algae growth, which had increased this year for some reason (nitrates etc normal). Had never had any success with algae eating fish, but the little ancistrus that assistant suggested has been doing a brilliant job, so very pleased with the service.

(The other fish and the plants we bought have also done very well).

The staff at Shirley aquatics are absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful. This is without a doubt the best aquatics store I’ve used to date. Highly recommended.

Second time I have spent over 50 pounds on tropical fish there, and the second time over half died within one day. My tanks are set up and I’ve never had a problem like this from other fish suppliers. I don’t want the hassle of returns( freezing dead fish etc). So I’ll just not buy live fish from there again.

What a great day would have loved to have spent more time looking around this place as even tho bee in around brum for almost thirty years I have never been her before. Went specially to go to the reptile section and wasnt disappointed. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable about reptiles. Very well run and very well signposted government guideline do to covid. Theres a lift for wheelchair users to have a look up stairs and omg some the size the fish let alone the tanks well worth it. Only one slight complaint is I couldn't spot any disabled parking bays by shirley aquatics, was a weekend and so I expected it to be busy next time a trip in the week time me thinks maybe if I can encourage my wife and her aspergers dog to come next time. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and will 110%be visiting the reptile part again soon and buying more than just Dubai Dubai roches I can smell the burning my credit card already lol. Must say how happy i felt leaving after speaking to the bald but friendly gentleman and I believe hes partner might been hes daughter oop lol. Wish all staff from other places took the time and effort like these guys. Only four not five stars because no disabled parking close to the entrance of the aquatic bit. Aee you again soon.

Great store and helpful knowledgeable staff, would recommend to friends and family.

There is nowhere comes close to this amazing aquatic supplier, it does mean its very busy so go in the week if you need to chat.
I would never go anywhere else!

Its OK.. service was mediocre with not having handles in stick to go with nets. Staff didnt know how to tell a male from a female koi and offered no suggestions about typical signs. The fish were massively overpriced.. £7.95 for an albino grass carp just over an inch long is disgraceful. They are probably making more money due to its new location but as soon as a cheaper alternative is found for fish i will use those.

Its 'ok' but an absence of local competition let's this place get away with being decidedly mediocre. They sell a good range of aquatic stuff I guess, they've got a great selection of koi. Want to actually buy something from the marine section? good luck with that, hardly anyone around, when you finally get someone's attention they don't know anything about what they are selling and would seem to prefer not to have to get it out the tank - too much bother. Never been impressed by this place. It's kind of ok but could be so much better, someone involved in running it just couldn't be bothered

As the title says i had whitespot in my tank so needed treatment asap. The item came next day really pleased with the service. Will be using them again in the future.

Several years ago we used to shop here for our aquatic needs however a house move meant we no longer had an aquarium until recently so we decided to see what it was like now the business had relocated to Becketts Farm.

We weren’t disappointed, despite it being very busy staff were helpful and attentive and as they used to be still very knowledgeable. The lay out of the store was very good, and we found the pond area lots better than it used to be.

We will visit again whenever we need to definitely.

went to shirley aquatics last friday , one girl at check out no one on marines asked for service to be told no one can help you today.

Founf customer service at shirley really poor and no one could be bothered ,

Bought 2 lilies on line, came within 3 days, wrapped and placed in a secure plastic container so not to damage them. Arrived in excellent condition, can't be more pleased with both product and service.
Would highly recommend Shirley Aquatics to anyone, first class.

I have just received my first order from Shirley Aquatics and to say I am delighted would be a gross understatement! The quality of the artificial coral I ordered was excellent and greatly exceeded my expectations. The prices I paid for the individual items was cheaper than the other on-line suppliers I looked at and way below what was on offer locally, however in addition, because the order was over £50 in value, the cost of delivery was also free.

I was somewhat concerned about the fragility of the ornaments purchased, however when they arrived, it was obvious that the quality of the packaging and the care taken in preparing the boxes etc., negated any possibility of damage.

In conclusion, Shirley's Aquatics is clearly a well run company with high standards in terms of the quality of their goods and the delivery of competitive pricing and professional services to its clients and on that basis I would have no hesitation in recommending it to other shoppers.
