On the 17th of March
On the 17th of March, I went to the jubel bar at foile a deuce at snowboxx festival and ordered 2 CANS of beer, I tapped on the card machine and then the bartender tried to give me 2 crates of jubel which I then realized id been charged almost £150 for. I quickly said that I didn't want to crates, and could I be refunded and just get 2 cans. For some reason no one seemed able or willing to give me a refund. I asked to speak to a manager, again for some reason even though a refund should be a simple easy process, she was unable to do it on the spot. But she told me that it would be sorted and it wouldn't move from my pending to my completed transactions. She said to come back the next day if there was any problems. Of course it DID go through and I was charged the full amount for 2 crates of beers we never had and didn't ask for in the first place. So i went back and again, they couldnt, for some unknown reason refund me, but they gave me an email to contact, which turned out to be an invalid email address and didn't work. I will be contacting my bank about a scam charge. I can provide my card information or anything else needed but this is DISGUSTING, I could not afford that and really needed the money back. You can also see that immediately after being mis charged for the 2 crates, i then paid for 2 cans, which is what i actually wanted. How on earth it couldn't simply be refunded I have no idea. I felt that I was lied to that it would go through at all and they just thought I wouldn't bother to check or notice, which of course I did because £150 is a lot of money to me.
Scam festival
I honestly don’t even know where to start with **Snowboxx Festival** , this was one of the worst travel and “festival” experiences I’ve ever had.
First red flag: as soon as we got on the transfer bus outside the airport, a Snowboxx staff member **forced us to hand over our duty-free alcohol**, claiming there would be police checkpoints and it would get confiscated—even unopened. That was a complete lie. Yes, there were checkpoints, but nothing like what she described. By the time we arrived, our alcohol had mysteriously “disappeared,” and the drivers didn’t speak English, so no one could explain what happened. It was basically stolen.
Then the journey itself — we got delayed because of snow and didn’t arrive until around 12:30pm. Fair enough, weather happens. But when we got there, **there was absolutely no organization**. No one told us where to go, how to check in, or what to do. We stood freezing in a massive queue for **over two hours** just to register. Zero logistics, zero customer service, zero care. We arrived at the accommodation at 2am. Very disappointing I have to say.
After finally checking in, we waited for the “snowcat” we had **paid extra for**. The website shows this comfortable, scenic transport where you can relax and enjoy the views. Reality? A complete scam. We were crammed into the back of a basic, rough vehicle with **no windows**, like cargo. Nothing like what was advertised.
Accommodation was another disaster. We paid for a **5-star, two-bedroom hotel**, and instead got what felt like a **run-down 3-star Airbnb** miles away. The building looked neglected and honestly a bit scary—broken ceilings, exposed pipes, filthy carpets. Inside, it was even worse: dirty bed sheets with pubic hair on them, stained furniture, and it wasn’t even two bedrooms—just a studio - Completely misleading and unacceptable.
Customer service? Non-existent. Every time we tried to raise issues, they just passed us around from person to person. No accountability, no solutions. It’s clear they only care about getting your money upfront—after that, you’re on your own.
And the “festival”… Poor production, weak sound, no real VIP areas, and honestly some of the worst DJ sets I’ve heard at an event like this. It felt like they rented a patch of snow and threw something together with no budget. Everything is hyped up on social media, but the reality is completely underwhelming.
The only thing actually worth it is the **French Alps** themselves and the après-ski at La Folie Douce — that’s where you’ll actually have a good time. Everything else connected to Snowboxx feels like a scam.
Overall, Snowboxx is all marketing and no substance. High expectations, extremely disappointing delivery. Save your money and go somewhere that actually delivers what they promise.
Terrible customer service - AVOID
Terrible customer service. Their marketing states it's a £75 deposit per person, yet Snowboxx decided to charge me the full £4K in one go. I've been trying to get a refund for over 5 weeks and still no luck...
Clearly Snowboxx put all their efforts into marketing the festival, and zero focus/care into customer support. God forbid if you have an issue in resort.
AVOID at all costs.
Awful customer service.
Awful customer service.
I have been trying to contact Snowboxx for nearly five days regarding a booking and have not had a single response. There also appears to be no working contact number, which I find extremely concerning.
Once this matter is finally resolved, I will not be using this service again and will make sure to share my experience so others are aware.
Booking through this platform has genuinely been one of my biggest regrets.
Absolute disaster - terrible service
Having recently arrived back home from Snowboxx 2025, I would not recommend this festival to anyone - it was an absolute disaster.
When we arrived in Avoriaz after our transfer, it took us a total of 4 hours before we were able to enter our accommodation.
From 3-7pm we were locked out of our apartment and were waiting in the dark and snow with no idea how to get our key.
We were increasingly anxious that if we’re were unable to enter our accommodation, we’d have to make a desperate attempt to find a vacant hotel room (difficult during the busy time period) and at our own expense.
As two young girls travelling alone this was an incredibly scary prospect.
We spoke to multiple Snowboxx officials, none of whom had any idea where/how to get our key. Nor did anybody pick up when I tried ringing the phone number provided on the app.
To make matters worse, there was no location on either Google Maps or the Snowboxx app interactive map which matched the location we were given on our e-ticket email - the CENTRALE LOCATIVE OFFICE. Information was impossible to come by.
The Snowboxx official that we booked our Snowcat with suggested the key was a 2 minute walk from our apartment (where we were dropped an hour later).
I can confirm it was not. With no snow or luggage, it would have been a 10-15 minute walk, at least double this with suitcases in the snow. We had to drag our luggage up and down the resort numerous times before finally locating the office.
We were freezing cold and dehydrated.
Once we finally got our key, the apartment was filthy (we left it sparkling clean), light switches wouldn’t turn on, and the deadlock didn’t work. Again, this is completely unacceptable. As 2 young girls, we were unable to fully lock the door which is unsafe.
Finally, the fridge kept freezing our food which was frustrating and meant we wasted money on food throughout the week that we couldn’t consume. Not was there a dishwasher which we believe was part of the package (especially since the welcome bag included dish washer tablets).
The Snowboxx team have not responded to my email complaint and are terrible at communication.
I would not recommend this festival to anyone and we wasted a huge amount of money and time.

Been trying to get a refund for 5 weeks now. Appalling customer service, no response to multiple emails and web enquiries - Snowboxx and MainStage Festivals just ignore you and hope the problem will go away!

Was assaulted by one of the members of staff in the ski lift when my pass wasn’t working felt very unsafe showed him receipt but he had already grabbed me aggressively I am a young female travelling without any males and I no longer feel safe to do so after this incident and he was a large aggressive man grabbing a young five foot female I am baffled people can behave like that in a professional setting onlookers gave numbers for witness statements the police filed a report but it was very difficult with the language barrier they declined to give the staff members name but he should not be dealing with customers and the snowboxx system is horribly disorganised we also we had a difficult experience with our oven as that wasn’t working for the first three days and when we called letting them know we were told we don’t know how to use it on the third day of calling and being unable to prepare any of our food we got very frustrated and they sent someone over who realised the heating element was actually broken and gave us a table top oven. On arrival we were told misinformation and dragged our heavy cases through the snow to the point of absolute exhaustion and then had to go all the way back to the start to get our room keys honestly think it’s overpriced for the lack of organisation the room was so much smaller than pictured so be aware of this if sharing a room. However they did add an extra mattress when we realised the double bed was too small to share. The skiing was lovely however after the incident I wasn’t comfortable getting back on any of the lifts.
Not Even Attended yet
Not Even Attended yet, booked on the final release day for 2025 after cueing for 5 hours we were given a singular option for £1300 each only! This allegedly sold out followed by options with no accommodation only. Miraculously there is now a multitude of accommodation options back on the site starting at £500 each all the way up to the £1300 option in our current booking.
No phone number for the team and ZERO response from the email address in days! Would have thought moving us to an alternate option now available wouldn't be an issue, the terms and conditions state we were due a refund minus deposit of £75 each, went to cancel online and the cancelation cost was showing 50% of the balance against T&Cs - Other wise even with the no contact i figured cancelling online for £75 each and rebooking at almost a third of the cost would have been worth it.
Attending at the original cost as an exclusive "sold out" event was excessive but still something we looked forward to.
Since this latest stunt and loads of availability along with Zero Contact - I Have huge concerns over whoever is planning the event and customer service and that there is likely to be further issues upon attendance. Very Poor Form! No offer of any resolutions to re-assure.
My recent visit to snowboxx was a…
My recent visit to snowboxx was a complete disappointment. The sound system repeatedly failed at main locations, and the cashless prepaid system felt like a scheme to make attendees spend more. The promised activities were nothing like advertised. Overall, it was the worst festival I've ever attended.
Just awful experience
Just awful experience. Everything was hard work - didn't even have handwashing facilities despite the fact to use the toilet, you had to take a tub of sawdust with you (bear in mind every toilet user were touching these buckets).
Getting a drink was an ordeal too and you even had to carry your empties to get the 3euro deposit back.
No atmosphere due to sparsity of people in large area and quiet music.
Long walks through the slush to get there and back too.
Couldn't stick it so asked for an early transfer and was told there weren't any until Wednesday. I had to pay for a taxi to escape the place. It was money well spent.
Dear Snowboxx
Dear Snowboxx, remind me to never book an event through you again. The Location is first class, I love avoriaz but how you can not afford to pay for servers to accept the amount of website traffic is ridiculous. You force me to book everything through you and now this year you don't even let us buy drinks......yet I CANT because you are so third rate you don't pay for the serivce capacity to handle the payments. It's not as if this is the first time or just on one day this is the entire process.
Then when I finally do get on your site you ask me to pay
but do i want skis, next page
But do you want a lift pass
but do you want to go to the igloo
but then can i sell you anything
NO YOU CAN'T because have fundemental inability to understand what your customers want. Which is to look forward to their holiday and not threatened that I won't be able to get a taxi if i dont book through you
I won't be able to buy a beer unless i load money onto your card - only I can't because your web server is powered by a single PC from 1993
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Staff have no clue what's going on so when there is an issue noone takes accountability. Don't book this. They threatened to kick us out of our accommodation midway though for not paying a deposit even though they never asked for one. Missed half a day of skiing to go pay the deposit but there was noone at the desk. What a mess
BIG NO to this festival...
BIG NO to this festival...
Just buy lift pass on avoriaz and you will get the same joy that people are getting with wristbands. It's anyway overloaded with people so even with wristband you can't get in to the zone to other " Ravers"
Some things they needed to shut down as of their organising people got compressed by staying in line to the stage. So staff woke up and said to everyone to free the line and go away.
Videos on insta looks wonderful but in reallity for real nothing special. You will hear the same songs at least 10 times idk probably all those DJ's have same USB
Customer service sucks. Don't know why they even spend any energy and time on it, if they still can't give any helpful information.
I guess there was arround 90% British people to that fest. And not many of them was very welcoming. Starting from the moment when we just arrived to Avoriaz and asked where can we get the wristbands
Awful experience, disgusting lack of customer service
Awful experience, no customer service at all. I was told I would receive an email on 4th April at midday with 24 hours to book for next year as a returning customer. I specifically took the evening off work to give myself time to do this and received no link.
I then emailed the customer service team and did not receive a response until 13:46 on the 5th…almost two hours after the link expired and tickets were in general sale.
I have now missed tickets and when emailed to express this and request it be rectified they said ‘we are sorry YOU missed it’ the actual nerve!
First they don’t provide me a link and then blame me. ‘Don’t worry you can buy a ticket in July’…oh great, when the prices are higher and I have to hope it coincides with a day off, then I have a small chance at getting one…thank you so much.
Truly shocking service, could not feel less like a valued customer from this experience.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service.
They do not respond to emails or tweets or Facebook messages.
I will never go on a ski holiday with Snowboxx again.
THIEVES & CON ARTISTS
If I could rate this company in the minus’ I would. Unfortunately the lowest I can score is 1. The company is complete shambles with scam artists for employees. With more that £2k of my money sitting with them they are now uncontactable to complete a refund for a booking that was cancelled last March. I urge everyone to stay away, I only wish I knew prior.
I would give 0 stars DO NOT BOOK
I would give 0 stars but I can't. Do not book with this company, at every turn they are out to rip you off. I had our trip cancelled due to COVID and the company fought me for a year refusing to give the money back (over £1000) until I made a chargeback claim and they faced legal action. The worst customer service I have ever experienced, actively making the whole thing a terrible experience. I urge you not to book with them.
DO NOT BOOK WITH SNOWBOXX
Cowboys. Robbed a lot of people in a pandemic and did not refund through the loop holes they created. The scummiest company, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. GO SNOWBOMBING INSTEAD.
SCAMMERS
Booked snowbox , had zero chance of contact not had a refund , ripped my mates off with the Covid19 duping them into cancelling before the event get cancelled then keeping the flight and hotel money for themselves . Absolute scam artists
Fantastic company. Handled the Covid19 brilliantly
Fantastic company!
Travel with them every year for their ski festival. Sadly 2020 festival was unable to go ahead due to Covid19 but the team posted updates as when they were needed. Customers given a choice of refund or a better deal on the 2021 festival.
They've handled the cancellation/Covid situation brilliantly despite a small minority of people relentlessly posting the same daft questions on social media without reading or understanding the T&Cs.
Wouldn't hesitate to book with them again
