South London Lofts have just finished out fantastic loft conversion, we are now the proud owners of two extra bedrooms and bathroom, the whole process was from start to finish a very easy transaction, the workers where a real pleasure to have around, the finished loft conversion is of a very high quality or so i am told by my Brother who is also a builder,

We have just had out wonderful loft finished by South London lofts and are absolutely delighted with the end result, we now have two extra rooms and a nice size bathroom, South London Lofts gave us a whole package from design to the end finish all we had to do was the decorating, the guys worked really hard to give us what we wanted and in the end we now have a wonderful loft, we full recommend South London Lofts if you are looking to have similar work done.

We had a Loft conversion done by South London Lofts, and their builder-subcontractors, Build London, in 2013-14. We were and are very happy with the work. The initial quote was competitive and the work was done at a good pace and within budget. Our building team was led by Ramas; the builders were punctual and polite and they worked hard.We did keep a close eye on the design and the works but found that both Craig from SLL and Ramas and his team were willing to help and accommodate.
I won't say everything was perfect but we were very pleased with the result. We've since had some small issues and Craig & co have been helpful and dealt with them - on occasion it has required some chasing but they've come and sorted things. I'd give the Company 4 out of 5.
I am surprised by some of the negative reviews - that was not our experience at all (I don't work for this company: I'm merely a customer). Perhaps they were unlucky.

I was amazed by how efficient and unobtrusive everyone was despite the fact that they were rebuilding the roof and installing stairs.

Their architect showed us how we could have a substantial terrace for only a few thousand extra, and the inevitable unexpected problems which arose were cleared up promptly and courteously.

And they willingly came back a couple of months later when a minor problem with the roof emerged. Exceeded all expectations.

I'm extremely happy with my loft conversion. I went for the rear mansard conversion, due to planning permission which was all dealt with by South London Lofts. They took care of everything from the drawings right through to the completion. The project manager was very helpful from start to finish.
We now have a lovely sized bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
I highly recommend this company.

We instructed south London lofts for our loft conversion for our house in Twickenham. The job started in November 2016 and finished on time.
We were very happy with the finish of the work and Craig was very helpful when we had any questions for him. Overall I think the company well organised and would use them again.

Had south London lofts build out loft earlier this year and now we have two fantastic bedroom and shower room.
The guys was a pleasure to work with and really hard working and gave us a lift we are over the moon with.

We've used SLL for 2 projects now.
The first, a loft conversion went very well so we went with them again for a side return a couple of years later.
Both projects were undertaken with total professionalism, the team are a credit to the company and i would recommend them to anyone as they have done a great job for us.

We are absolutely delighted with our kitchen extension. South London Lofts actually extended into the dead space that was the side return and knocked down a chimney breast to create a light modern very spacious kitchen. SLL did a fantastic job for us. Our project manager Virgis, kept everything on track and kept us fully consulted and informed all the way through. The whole team, brickies, electricians, plumbers, roofers worked extremely hard. The quality of workmanship is excellent. The kitchen is now the focal point of family life in our home. We had chosen SLL since they had done a wonderful job building our loft rooms in 2008. We made the right choice.

We were impressed with the way our project manager, Darius, controlled the work. He was always available by mobile phone or text message (even when on holiday), and the arrangements he made all happened as planned. 

We were also impressed with the energy and application of the tradesmen who did the work. The builders in particular were regularly on site at 8 am and worked a full day before closing up the temporary roofing for the night. All involved cleaned up after themselves, and the builders formed the hole in the existing ceiling to accommodate the new staircase without dropping any mess onto the old staircase at all.

The result is that the wasted space occupied by the old loft has been converted into a couple of smart bedrooms and a neat shower room.

My neighbour did his loft conversion a few years' ago and I was really impressed with the quality of work carried out by South London Lofts. At the outset, we discussed the issue of the party wall agreement, and agreed to avoid the need for party wall surveyors and the extra cost this incurs. From my discussions with Craig Taylor, I felt very reassured that I could trust the work of this company, which was why I chose them to do my loft too. How chuffed I was by the results: I have a really well designed loft which has been finished to a particularly high standard with the minimum of fuss. I suppose one of the highlights of South London Lofts' service was their use of builders who were polite, efficient and skilled; I can honestly state that I could find no fault throughout the 10 week build time: rare for a project such as this. Their price was more than reasonable, too. And so I have used South London Lofts on another project - I am perhaps the ultimate satisfied customer!

I saw a South London Lofts banner not far from me and I gave them call, they came out quickly & then sent a quote soon after, I had a look at one of their previous projects, which was very nice and similar to mine

They managed to get the drawings & designs together quickly and started soon after, the project management was great I was kept informed all the way through the process and it's a great end result, very happy. Just what I needed to add value to my home. I've
recommended a few times since. Thank you

Reading the other reviews of this same company, my experience was exactly the same, if not worse. There are one or two good contractors and project managers from Build London (though one left half way through - he had had enough) who seem to have some conscience but the ignoring of customers, their requests, emails and desperate attempts to make contact and sort out problems seem universal. (I know four other families personally - and quite coincidentally - who had the same experience with SLL/Build London.) I do have the 10 year guarantee - whatever that means - but I have no idea whether the quality of work will last (and by the way - I'm not convinced by the 'private' apparently independent Building Control Inspection firm either - better to go with the Council Building Inspectors who really are independent, even if it takes more time). The work should have taken 6 months but took a year and I had 3 car accidents - eventually writing off the car in the stress! Don't go with this company - you will bitterly regret it. If you have paid a deposit - just let it go and start again....

who are South London Lofts Ltd? are they Build London Ltd? who knows, one thing i do know is.... they will NEVER get any form of recommendation from us!
We chose South London Lofts in July 2017, up till now, a year later, work is still outstanding. Build London who seem to be somehow associated with them are the contractors who actually do the work. From the beginning all the way through to 6 months later, the tradesmen did not attend my property more than three days in any given week. The Project Manager was almost impossible to get hold of and without doubt this company has the most shockingly bad customer service we have ever encountered. After many many Emails being ignored, endless phone calls and many text messages also being ignored the realization set in when you must acknowledge a bad choice has been made. we paid exactly to the payment schedule, but it seems the more you pay, the less they care. by the time we had paid 90 percent they seemed to switch off completely.
During the works many items were damaged, one of which was the stairs and handrails. i was told that it was my responsibility to protect the stairs.
We had the electric hob smashed in the kitchen, i was told i should have removed it prior to works beginning. who would remove a hob when the work wasn't even in the kitchen? Our sofas were damaged, we were told we should have carried them upstairs. Then why did they continue to abuse the sofas?
To summarize, The bulk of the work took 6 months rather than the estimated 3 months. The management of Build London is atrocious and they are shockingly rude. The customer service is beyond bad. The senior project managers treat you like scum and do not care about your project at all. They seem to have a learned method of dealing with complaints.. Just ignore the customer.
I would NEVER recommend South London Lofts or Build London Ltd.
