Spotlight Verlag is one of the most Unethical companies I have ever dealt with.

I would definitely NOT recommend to neither "subscribe to their free trial", which will end up in a paid subscription after receiving an email most probably to your spam mailbox informing you that your free trial will continue automatically and later on receive an invoice, nor "to do any sort of business with them"

Their customer service, being through emails or phone calls was not at all helpful and rejecting all sorts of arguments or complaints whatsoever.
I had to follow up with them for months before someone answered and by then it was already too late. They even had the nerve to follow up legally to collect the money that they don't even deserve.

I fell into a clickbait of free e-version of Deutsch Perfekt magazine.
I registered on the website and got a link for a digital archive, where I couldn't do anything but order a specific issue of the magazine.

Time passed and they started to spam with an invoice. Then they sent it to my postal address, threatening with me covering their collectors' expenses.

To my surprise, it's not only that I couldn't get anything after the registration, but also can't delete my account or any other personal information details.

What they also do, they bug your browser with a tracker, which does not allow to visit the official deitsch-perfekt website and redirects you to spotlight verlag

wurde nach 10 Jahren als Abonnent nach einer Beschwerde einfach gekündigt, ohne Mitteilung. Auf die Gutschrift warte ich seit Monaten.

This is fraud. My wife, who is a beginner in German, ordered a German grammar seeing it as a free offer. The order button was NOT clearly described as a commitment to buy. We did not receive anything, no books, no links, nothing. Except a bill of 55 Euro. After some tries, they have written a cancellation, but still claim the 55 Euro. Bøje Larsen

I live in Australia and I regret having anything to do with this company. Some time ago I ordered and paid for the Spotlight Verlag magazine Deutsch Perfekt. I received it for a year and then I cancelled my subscription. I received a letter from them in the middle of this year advising that I owed an extra Euro 10.40. As I live in Australia I sent them the money by bank transfer using Worldremit - (transaction number 43290864). Yesterday I received by mail a letter stating I had not paid the amount. The letter advised me that I now owed Euro 18.40 (Euro 8 for 'late payment' fee) and threatened me with referral to a debt collection agency. I have emailed them, attached my Worldremit receipt for my payment, and I called them yesterday and spoke to a lady who was very unhelpful, and then I called again and spoke to another lady who was more helpful, and she stated she would pass my letter on to the accounts department. Despite asking for an email from them confirming my payment I have heard nothing. I personally would have nothing to do with this company again and I don't know if in the future I will get further letters threatening me with a debt collection agency for a small sum that I have already paid.

Ich habe ein Mini-Abo über 3 Monate bestellt und ein paar Tage später einen Gutschein für ein kostenloses Magazin erhalten. Daraufhin habe ich den Gutschein eingelöst und in der Bestätigung wurde mir mitgeteilt das ich die Ausgabe für Oktober erhalten würde, welche ich aber schon durch mein Mini-Abo bekommen sollte (offensichtlich sinnlos). Habe dann eine Mail an den Support geschrieben und darum gebeten anstelle der Oktober Version die September Ausgabe zu erhalten. Sinngemäße Antwort vom Support:"Geht nicht und Begründung gibt es auch keine"
Daraufhin habe ich beide Aufträge storniert und kurz darauf eine weitere Mail erhalten mit dem Angebot anzurufen und das man ein "Überraschungsgeschenk" für mich hätte. Gesagt getan...die Mitarbeiterin im "Kundenservice" hatte jedoch nichts als freche Antworten übrig und ebenso keine Bereitschaft mir in irgendeiner Art und Weise entgegenzukommen. Unfassbar unseriös und anscheinend gibt es dieses "kostenlose Magazin" auch nur weil man darauf hofft das Kunden danach vergessen zu kündigen und weiter zahlen.

Ich habe kostenloses Abonement bestellt und nach der gelieferten ersten und einzigen Ausgabe gekündigt!
Dann bekam ich eine Rechnung für 4 Ausgaben!

Nie wieder!

Maximal 1 Stern - eigentlich weniger... Emails, Anfragen, etc... werden nicht beantwortet. Die App funktioniert nur sporadisch (und hat mir derzeit alle meine - bereits gekauften - Ausgaben unzugänglich gemacht). Zur Fehlerbehebung ist keiner da.

Kein Wunder, wenn die Verlage zu Grunde gehen ... jedenfalls mit dieser Kundenpolitik!

Unseriöses Telefonmarketing. Vorsicht beim Angebot sogenannter "Reisegutscheine " für den Abschluss eines Abonnements. Der Verlag kooperiert mit dem Veranstalter ...urlaubszeit.de.
Achtung auch bei der Strategie des Verlages in Sachen Widerrufsfrist. Die Übersendung des Reisegutscheines (der ohnehin nichts wert ist) wird hinausgezögert, bis die Frist für den Widerruf abgelaufen ist.
Ich rate dringend ab und empfehle, sich vor Vertragsabschluss beim Verbraucherschutz zu informieren. Oder, wenn die Falle zugeschnappt hat, Anwalt einschalten.
