A Practical, Career-Focused Path to UI/UX Design
As a former fashion designer pivoting into UI/UX, I needed a program that combined creativity with structure and Springboard delivered. The hands-on curriculum, real-world projects, and 1:1 mentorship helped me build a strong foundation and translate my design skills into a new field. The career support, from portfolio building to mock interviews, was key in preparing me for the job search. It’s self-paced, but if you’re committed, it’s a smart, career-focused path into UI/UX.
Amazing Experience
Amazing Experience
I signed up for Springboard's Data Science program and it was definitely the best career-related decision I've made in many years. I've had an interest in Data Science and AI-related topics for a while, but was never quite sure how I would go about preparing myself for the field. I had taken some smaller individual courses, which helped, but I felt I need more.
Springboard emerged as the best all-around solution for me. Their bootcamp is compact and dense (suggested 6-7 months), but trainees have the option to proceed at their own pace. The flexiblity is invaluable, especially for folks who are working full-time and have other obligations. The curriculum was awesome and one of the strongest reasons for me in choosing this program. It covered so much - Data Science Method, Python programming, Data Visualization, Statistics, Machine Learning and AI, Big Data, etc. It also provided a ton of hands-on experience which really helped to build confidence in the material. All along the way, I was helped by the Springboard staff who were simply amazing! From my first call (an assessment of my suitability for the program) to my invaluable weekly mentor calls, career coaching calls, to my course completion emails and discussion, they have always been knowledgable, super positive and done all they can to support my progress. I cannot recommend Springboard enough!
Springboard Scam to me - Avoid Springboard
Springboard Did Scam to me - I signed up for Springboard’s Cybersecurity program because they promised job placement within 6 months and seemed really supportive at first. When you’re just starting the course, they respond quickly, say all the right things, and make it sound like you’ll have someone guiding you every step of the way. But that changes pretty fast.
Most of the content in the course is just links to videos and articles that you can already find on the internet for free. It’s not like you’re getting exclusive training or hands-on experience. You're mostly reading or watching stuff that’s already out there.
When the 6 months passed and I still didn’t have a job, I reached out about the job guarantee refund they promised. That’s when things really went downhill. They took a week just to reply, then told me I didn’t qualify for a refund and instead gave me a 6-month extension. So now it’s almost a full year, and let’s be real, most people can’t wait that long. We have bills, responsibilities, and need to move on with our careers.
The program costs around $11,000, which is a huge amount of money for something that doesn’t deliver what it promises. You basically have to do everything on your own job search, applications, interviews and the career support feels like an afterthought.
What’s even more frustrating is that they offer gift cards to students who leave reviews. So it’s hard to trust what you read online because a lot of it is just paid praise.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to speak up. I wouldn’t recommend this program to anyone. It felt like I got trapped into spending a lot of money for something I could have learned on my own and without the stress.
Data Science
I am transitioning from software engineering to data science as someone who has a PhD in psychology and quant science. I rather enjoyed Springboard, as the curriculum was sequential and learning was built in a manner that made sense. The course material was great and my mentor was wonderful.
There are people that communicate with you throughout, program services, career services, student advising, and they are all very kind and sweet. They were helpful and really moved things along when I could not find my technical coach to do a mock coding session for my job guarantee.
I don’t know how the job guarantee will be since I just graduated and have only had 1 meeting with my coach. She seems knowledgable with great energy. Let’s see how this goes.
The career coaches that you are required to meet with to go over your LinkedIn and resume are pretty helpful and very sweet as well.
You get what you put into this program in terms of learning and as with any program, there’s the administrative stuff you have to complete. It was not a big deal and it was nice to interact with a human being.
I went through another bootcamp and that felt soul breaking in comparison. This bootcamp was a breath of fresh air, honestly. Springboard gives you the content and you just need to learn it and follow all the rules they set forth if you want the job guarantee. If you treat them well (email them nicely), they will treat you extremely well.
Looking forward to them helping me get a job!
Fantastic Curriculum and mentorship
I started off without any knowledge in Data Analytics and extremely basic coding experience. I basically knew to output 'Hello World' and make basic arithmetic calculations. I have evolved a lot and Springboard made it possible. The flow was adaptable, the mentorship program was great and one of the best selling points for Springboard. Highly recommend it to anyone starting out afresh.

Happy I made it!!
All the people I have come in contact with have been awesome and make me excited to start the program.
Business practices are shady, Course was decent
I completed the Springboard UX/UI Career Track program April of 2024. I recently completed the job guarantee period without landing a job and applied for the refund. Springboard approved my request but said they are paying it back over 12 months rather than refunding the entire amount. They did not specify that I would not be receiving a full refund anywhere in the agreement. This is really not cool, probably not legal, and definitely not ethical. Shame on you, Springboard.

I recently completed Springboard’s Cybersecurity Career Track, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my professional growth. The bootcamp provided a perfect balance of structured learning, hands-on labs, and real-world mentorship—everything I needed to transition into cybersecurity.
Springboard has a great curriculum and…
Springboard has a great curriculum and great people to help you through your beginning steps into programming. The mentors are helpful with keeping your motivation up through the course, and the career coaches are experienced at knowing what catches the eyes of Hiring teams. I think the program was an excellent way to get me into my first software engineering job. The only thing I would suggest is to make it slightly more apparent that you can change your mentors if you would like to and how to go about that process.
Data Science Career Track
CourseWork was intense. The help that you get from your mentoring guidance makes you leap forward quickly. Self Motivation is absolutely necessary to pursue this course successfully.
Basic YouTube videos, refund paid in 12 monthly installments
TL;DR: Curriculum is basic YouTube videos, I’m a college graduate who didn’t get a job after a year, they will try everything they can to prevent you from getting the refund, the refund occurs in 12 monthly installments over a year period.
I enrolled in Springboard's software engineering bootcamp in 2023 and completed in 2024. They sell you on a "job guarantee" in which you will get your money back if you don't find a job in 6 months. The curriculum itself consists of basic and often outdated YouTube videos.
Their “mentorship” was definitely lackluster. It’s what you make of it, but your mentor is not going to get you a job at their company and is probably just trying to make some cash on the side and would probably rather be somewhere else.
To be eligible for their job guarantee (and the refund if you don't find a job), I had to apply to a certain number of jobs per week and make a certain number of connections. Per the contract, they extended the 6 month job search period to one year, which I was fine with.
After one year of applying, I did not get any jobs and had less than a handful of interviews. Springboard slow-walked approving my refund for several weeks, encouraging me several times to extend the job search period (why would I do that?), and then the kicker: approved the refund but said it would be paid out in 12 monthly installments over the next year. Yup—after applying to jobs for a year, they told me I’d have to wait another one before I could receive the refund. Some job guarantee! After complaining, they offered me to fill out a financial hardship form that they review “once a month” and can’t promise I’ll receive anything faster.
Overall: there’s much better bang for your buck out there. I don’t know a single person from Springboard who has gotten a job. Try some other bootcamp… or go to nursing school.
Review Software Engineering Career…
Overall the Software Engineering Career Track Bootcamp at Springboard was great. I was able to gain a strong grasp on core S.E. topics and had lots of great guidance along the way. The mentors and career staff in particular helped a lot, and I am proud of the projects I made. I think it is a great program that teaches topics in a good, digestible manner. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get started in the Software Engineering field.
Being mentored by an expert in the field.
One on one meetings and feedback from mentor made this experience amazing. It feels reassuring to have an expert in the field provide guidance.
From Freelance to Flourishing
Springboard strikes the perfect balance between industry education and hands-on portfolio development. As a long-time freelancer, this program not only sharpened my skills but also gave me the formal language and confidence to articulate my expertise in interviews. Since enrolling, I’ve landed two jobs, and I can directly credit the curriculum, my mentor, and the career coaches for their invaluable support!
Design UX course is not worth it
I chose Springboard because of the program's career support, design programming, real-world project offer, and job guarantee so I'll share my thoughts now that I've graduated.
The programming covered UX/UI design well. One HUGE oversight is the visual design deep dive. While they provide an overview, it is not enough to be competitive in the market. I shared my portfolio with senior designers, who gave me a ton of visual design feedback. Frankly, after 9 months, why didn't my mentor or coach share that feedback with me? Either they didn't know or just didn't care.
Real-world project: Frankly, this was a mess. At first, they gave me a research project when I needed a design one because you know I'm a designer. The next one, they assigned too many designers, and there was not enough work for everyone. One designer ended up without work and the project didn't even ship.
Career support: My career coach didn't provide valuable feedback on my case studies and told me I should build coding skills! Mind you I took the UX design bootcamp. It feels like they're checking a box. It's unfortunate, and now I'm just stuck with them. I don't even know if I'll get a job.
I'm only writing a review to save someone else from spending money on Springboard.
Avoid Springboard at all costs
Avoid Springboard at all costs. This company is a complete scam. The Head of Admissions, Justin, will charm you into signing up, but once you’re in, communication is nonexistent. You’re left dealing with unhelpful Zendesk employees who take forever to respond with vague, useless answers—if they even bother to get back to you at all.
I requested a refund after my disastrous experience, and it was a nightmare. First, they claimed it would take 45 days. When the time passed, they blamed a “glitch” and asked me to wait another 3-10 days—only to ultimately deny the refund altogether. Now I’m involving my bank to resolve this mess.
The content they charge $8-10k for is laughable—completely outdated and freely available online. Their so-called “mentors” and “career counselors” are unprofessional and unhelpful, constantly rescheduling and offering useless advice like suggesting entry-level IT Help Desk jobs. You’d be better off watching free Professor Messer videos and using LinkedIn Learning.
Their “labs,” which they market as exclusive, are actually from INFOSEC and can be purchased directly for around $100. Don’t waste your time, money, or energy on this fraudulent company.
Do not consider joining this bootcamp
Do not consider joining this bootcamp , I regret signing up for the software engineering track at Springboard, where I spent money on content freely available on YouTube. The job guarantee was a scam, and the curriculum was needlessly complex without covering the basics. Moreover, mentioning Springboard on my resume has been a deterrent to employers.
Before choosing a design bootcamp
Before choosing a design bootcamp, consider the Google UX course on Coursera, which is well respected in the design community. I regret signing up for the UI Bootcamp at Springboard, where I spent money on content freely available on YouTube. The job guarantee was a scam, and the curriculum was needlessly complex without covering the basics. Moreover, mentioning Springboard on my resume has been a deterrent to employers. Choose Google UX for a more valuable learning experience.
