My experience with Star Action Figures Absolutely Awful Customer Service – Shockingly Rude Owner
My experience with Star Action Figures has been nothing short of appalling. I contacted them about a missing item, and instead of receiving any form of support, I was met with dismissive, condescending, and downright rude responses from Wayne, the owner.
Wayne’s attitude throughout the entire exchange was disgusting. Rather than treating me like a customer with a genuine issue, he spoke to me like a problem he wanted to get rid of. He dismissed everything I said, accused me of “patterns” of behaviour, and even tried to suggest my emails weren’t written by me. The arrogance, hypocrisy and hostility in his tone were unbelievable for someone running a business.
What should have been a simple conversation about a missing item turned into one of the most unprofessional interactions I’ve ever had with any company. Instead of listening or helping, Wayne went out of his way to belittle me, make personal remarks, and shut down the discussion without any intention of resolving it.
If this is how the owner behaves when a customer raises a concern, it tells you everything you need to know about the company. Absolutely appalling service and a complete lack of respect.
I would not recommend this business to anyone.

As with most 1-star reviews, this comes from a very new customer (one small order before this one). The review contains a number of personal remarks but leaves out the details of the actual case. Three separate members of staff responded politely and professionally, even though the request could not be approved. Here are the facts of what actually happened:
1. You reported a missing item four days after delivery.
Your emails stated you were “excited to open the parcel for your son’s birthday,” yet the order contained only two items. If one were missing, this would have been immediately obvious on opening. The delay in reporting significantly reduces the ability to verify any claim of loss.
2. The Phoenix figure was filmed being packed into your parcel.
We reviewed the packing-station CCTV, which clearly shows the Phoenix figure being placed into your box. The footage is time-stamped and directly linked to your order.
3. You discarded the packaging before contacting us.
You confirmed you threw the box away immediately after opening it. This means there are no photos, no packaging, no signs of tampering, and no evidence whatsoever to support a missing-item claim from your side.
4. The Royal Mail delivery photograph shows the parcel intact.
The courier’s proof-of-delivery image shows the box in excellent condition, with no damage, openings or crushed areas that would indicate the loss of a boxed figure.
5. You were unable to provide any supporting evidence.
Despite being asked multiple times, you confirmed there were no photos of the parcel, no retained packaging, and nothing to demonstrate that the order was incomplete when opened.
6. We provided full documented evidence; none of it was disputed. You did not challenge the CCTV footage, dispatch logs, timestamps or delivery photograph. Your responses focused solely on tone rather than addressing the evidence presented.
7. You did not request a replacement at any point.
For an item you stated was urgently needed for a birthday, you requested a refund in your first message, then store credit in later messages, but never once asked for the missing item to be resent. We hold stock and could have shipped a replacement on 24-hour delivery. Your requests were inconsistent with someone who genuinely needed the item.
8. The Consumer Rights Act does not override clear physical evidence.
Our responsibility is to ensure goods are dispatched and delivered. The evidence shows the item was included at dispatch, the parcel was delivered intact, and no courier issues occurred.
9. You paid via PayPal but did not open a PayPal claim.
Customers who genuinely believe an item was not received typically do so immediately, as PayPal buyer protection is clear and effective. You chose not to initiate a claim.
10. Your review omits the entire issue and focuses solely on personal remarks.
It does not address the CCTV footage, the delivery photograph, the 4-day delay, the discarded packaging, or the lack of evidence provided.
11. We cannot refund or credit items that were sent and delivered correctly.
This is standard for all customers. Without supporting evidence, and with documented proof of correct dispatch and delivery, the claim cannot be upheld.
We stand by the evidence and by the decision communicated to you.
This matter remains closed.

I’ve been using SAF for a few years now, and they have never failed to come up with the goods. Everything from the timely postage, the thorough packing and the pre-order system they use is nothing short of fantastic! Also, they sell Micronauts!!! 😊 Run by fans and collectors for fans and collectors! A great experience every time! Ignore any griping reviews and buy with confidence from a company that actually cares!

What a disappointment ....
I ordered 7 Star Wars figures with Star Action Figures (SAF), parcel arrived late (ordered on Friday 7th - delivered on Thursday 13th), however well wrapped up. But when I checked two of the Vintage Collection figures still in their blisters, both were very badly painted and someone also tried to cover up some cracks with a black pen on one of the cardboards. After I complaint and had sent pictures to the shop they told me that I could send the two items back at my own expense in order to get a refund. When they cheat a customer with selling used and damaged articles they should be embarrassed enough not to make the customer pay the return postage. That was definitely my last order with them and I can only warn Star Wars collectors not to buy with this shop. The prices seem low, but the quality of their sold items is low too and that counts also for the after sale service!

This review leaves out most of the relevant details, so here is the factual account of what actually happened.
1. Delivery timing
Your parcel arrived within the timeframe stated on our website, newsletters and social posts during the 2-for-1 promotion. Orders were advertised as taking up to a week to ship due to volume. Delivery between the 7th and 13th was within that window.
2. Condition of the items
You reported two figures as “very badly painted” and “used.”
The photos you sent showed:
A paint blemish on R2-D2 so small it required extreme close-up magnification — well under 1mm, closer to around 0.25mm.
A distressed R5-D4 — which is designed to look weathered.
No signs of use, damage, or tampering on either sealed blister.
These are normal variations on mass-produced 3.75" figures and do not constitute damage.
3. Pricing and expectations
R2-D2 was purchased during our offer period at roughly half price.
Customers who require the best possible card condition can choose our SAF Display Case service, where we hand-select from multiple cases for £1.50–£2. You selected standard fulfilment.
4. Partial refund request
After sending the complaint, you asked for a partial refund to keep the items.
We do not offer partial refunds for factory imperfections — ever.
If a £16 figure is not acceptable at £7.50, a slightly lower price would not resolve the issue. This is why our policy is return for full refund or keep the item.
You were correctly advised that you could return the items for a full refund, with postage covered only for genuine damage (creases, dents, tears, crushed bubbles, misaligned print). Your items did not meet that criteria.
5. “Used” and “damaged” claim
The items were factory sealed and sent exactly as supplied by Hasbro.
Describing sealed figures with a sub-millimetre factory blemish as “used” is inaccurate.
6. Complaint volume and timeline
Multiple complaint emails were sent in a short period before we had time to respond, including messages sent at 3am and a follow-up email at 9am stating you had already posted this review.
This creates the appearance of urgency, not accuracy.
7. After-sales service
A return was offered immediately. A full refund was available.
The only thing declined was the request for a partial refund on non-damaged items.
In summary:
The parcel arrived within the advertised timeframe.
The figures were brand new and factory sealed.
The issues shown were minor factory variations, not damage.
A return and full refund were offered.
Partial compensation was requested and correctly declined.
We stand by our handling of this order.

Incredible site.
I stumbled across these guys whilst looking for a Christmas present. And the prices were better then anyone else. So I decided to take a gamble and try it. And well I am extremely extremely happy. Arrived safely and very well wrapped. So no damage and within 48 hours too. So absolutely not a single complaint here. And will definitely use them in the future and recommend them.

Ordered and pre-ordered numerous times for Star Wars Black Series and Transformers. Never had to chase orders and almost always delivered on time.

An online retailer that actually cares
An online retailer that actually understands and cares about their customers. This is who I choose to buy from whenever possible. Star Wars Vintage Collection always arrives from them in pristine condition, including the card backs, which even though I'm an opener is such a big part of the experience and the nostalgia. In fact, I believe Star Action Figures has actively advocated for Star Wars collectors to Hasbro to get better cardbacks and it made a difference. On the one occasion I've had to regretfully cancel an order they've been very professional about it.
