A Company Built On Values That Saves Lives - One at a Time....

I have spent my career in public health and as a lawyer, and in both fields I learned to be skeptical of institutions that describe themselves as caring. Systems are rarely built to move quickly, and large ones rarely move quickly for a single individual. Then my own life changed. I was diagnosed with a serious neurological condition that has left me legally blind, and for the first time I understood what it feels like to be genuinely frightened — not as a professional assessing a case, but as a patient facing the unknown.

Takeda doesn't just make average medications; they pioneer treatments and cures for many of the most complex issues facing medicine. They don't improve existing treatments; they invest in understanding the fundamental biological roots of these conditions and pioneer novel therapies that save lives and improve the quality of life for patients.

That is the context in which I came to know Takeda, and why I feel compelled to write this.

Takeda is one of the oldest pharmaceutical companies in the world — more than two centuries of continuous work developing medicines that have changed and saved countless lives. That legacy alone would be worth admiring. But what moved me was not the scale of the enterprise. It was the people.

From my very first contact, Takeda's patient-assistance program staff moved with compassion, empathy, and a true sense of urgency I still find hard to comprehend. Within a single day, they had already understood my concerns and worked out a solution — one that was generous, thoughtful, and kind. And it did not end there. They followed up. They checked on me. They behaved like people who actually cared about what happened to me, because they did.

That is the rare and remarkable thing. A company of this size, with global reach and enormous responsibility, still manages to meet a frightened individual exactly where they are. Takeda does not only save lives in the aggregate. It saves them one at a time, person to person — and in doing so, it proves that its patients genuinely matter.

Lazy, irresponsible, good-for-nothings

Absolute abdication of responsibility on display here. I can't find my dosage of Vyvanse anywhere in a town with a population of almost 200,000, and haven't been able to for weeks. When people rely on your medications to function, you have to keep providing them. Takeda Pharmaceuticals apparently prefers to sit on their hands and do nothing all day. I wish I got paid whatever they do to simply not do my job.

Takeda a gave my doctor saving cards for a medication that are not expired but do not work. When the pharmacy calls Takeda there customer service tells the pharmacy they don’t have to honor it. If you are not going to honor your card don’t give them out. My meds where over 110.00 because of your product if I would have stayed with my old meds it would have been 20.00

The manufacturing delays when ADD meds…

The manufacturing delays when ADD meds are already experiencing a shortage is unacceptable. I wish just one person charge ANYWHERE would actually care about people. But from the government of any level to the management at Takeda, it's we who suffer and no one cares. No one cares that I've been unmedicated for a week. No one cares that I can barely function. No once cares that I've been treating my ADD for years through an actual doctor, not some online fly by night B.S. Want people to die? To kill themselves since our society doesn't care? I didn't get the memo, but I'll gladly join.

Zero stars is what they deserve

Zero stars is what they deserve. I have been through many of these medication application processes (when helping patients as their nurse) and this is most incompetent, harmful company that I have even encountered. If you claim you want help people then why do you make this process a nightmare by lying and dragging the process out as long as possible? I have sent in two different applications, starting over two weeks ago and this week I have called every day. The only reason Takeda started the process is because I called. When I called, they said they didn’t have the updated application. I told them I am certain my provider faxed it in, and moments later they said they had it.

The company’s website claims, “We set clear goals, plans and KPls to serve the needs of our patients, wherever they are, and to earn the trust of society and our customers.
Takeda-ism (Integrity, Fairness, Honesty, Perseverance) and the four priorities (Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business) are deeply ingrained in our ways of working to ensure our commitment to quality and that we do the right thing - at all times.
People
Takeda has an unwavering commitment to patients and is building a patientcentric and customer-centric organization. Our local organizations are empowered to respond in the best way to meet patient and customer needs.” - takeda website under “who we are” > “corporate philosophy”

A load of horse manure is what the company is based upon.

After spending a frustrating hour at my pharmacy arguing about this savings card I left and called Takeda. I spoke with Niasha, explained the situation with my incompetent pharmacy so she called them while I was on the phone to get it straightened out. I was so irate with the people at my pharmacy it ruined my day but after talking with Niasha I realized there are still helpful people and even though it’s her job she went above and beyond and even dealt with my rude pharmacy. Thank you Niasha

First year was fantastic/ Now it's a nightmare

The first year was fantastic! I got an antidepressant with virtually no side effects delivered speedily straight to my door (1000+ a month w/out assistance). Now they randomly cancel my applications without warning. I have been trying to get my refill since the 5th of January (it is now the 24!). They keep saying they're overnighting the medication, then it gets flagged, and I'm not contacted. I've called every day for the past week (and had my doctors do the same), and I am still without medication. Abruptly stopping medications is really dangerous and they don't care!

Great and then steadily a nightmare

Was easy to get accepted after turning in my application, received the actual medication so quickly I was stunned. It's been downhill from there. Customer service is the worst, literally had to say my date of birth three times the person appeared to not be listening at all. and was told two different things, made no sense. Went from three months worth to having to refill every month which is a nightmare. This month went to fill and was told the refill system wasn't working and I'd have to call back after a week. WHAT? You just aren't giving people their meds for over a week?? Seems illegal. Finally refilled, been a week and still no meds. Sad to have to go through all this to get affordable meds. It's really disgusting the way no one cares.

Absolute nightmare….read all of the one star reviews

I can totally empathize with all of the frustrated patients leaving one star reviews. My doctor and I have been trying to have a prescription renewed with these clowns for two full weeks now. Takeda has lied repeatedly about not receiving the faxed prescription (my doctor has fax receipts that prove Takeda DID IN FACT RECEIVE THEM). Now they are lying and saying that they haven’t received the script that my doctor phoned in two days ago. They say their pharmacy is going through a transition right now (most likely a third lie). Even if this is miraculously true, what about patients who need their meds? Oh wait, I almost forgot about the fourth lie: one clueless dope told me today that she couldn’t pull me up in their system. However, five minutes later, another (inferior, but not to the degree of the former) rep was quickly able to find my file. Which is it??? I am either in their system or I am not. STOP LYING! You will literally get a different story from each of their incompetent employees. Embarrassingly poor service. This is a joke. If you don’t believe me, simply scroll down and read the many other horrible reviews.

Horrible

Horrible. I had to wait over a month for a nurse to come out to help me with my IV infusions ( still waiting actually) Patient care manager is useless. NO follow up what so ever. Does not advocate for the patient and when a patient has a problem they blow it off and respond with these idiotic phoney scripts that they learned in training. Very inexperienced. I would go else where. If you take your health seriously, STAY AWAY FROM THIS place.

My Review and a Question.

I got my application, information about my husband being laid off and my doctor's information all submitted to Takeda without ever having to call Takeda. I received notice within maybe a week that I was approved from my doctors office, who advised me to call Takeda and I don't remember a long wait at all, but they were able to give me my card information over the phone to being using it immediately instead of having to wait on my card to come in. I was able to get my prescription card and get everything done without having to talk to anyone over the phone. The one time I did call, if was after my doctor called and let me know I was approved, and that I could call Takeda and get my card information to start using it immediately. I did not have to wait to get my card to begin using it.

This message is to Billy O'Neale about being approved but not receiving your card.
If they tell you that you are approved, you can just ask for your card information and they will give you the card id , bin, grp, etc over the phone. Your doctor will also receive the entire card information before you will if you are going through a doctor's office for your medication.
Wondering how long these prescription cards last. Or how many uses for each card? I have the Vyvanse help at hand and it's coming up on a year, so worried about being cut off anytime... if anyone leaves a review and has the answer, i would appreciate having that answered if you can, thank you!

We have confirmed they have everything, but still get the runaround.

We sent in everything that was requested, and have confirmed three times now that they have everything. The last time we called we confirmed that they received the signed requested documents, again via email, while on the phone.

At this point I believe them to be intentionally defrauding us, to save money on what I was understanding to be their legally required obligation to assist patients.

I am so thankful for the lady who took my call and helped me today! Erin was polite, caring and professional. When I explained that I was running low on my prescription, she contacted a manager to expedite my order. I will have my medicine on time and I'm so very grateful for Erin's help!

Worst company I've ever dealt with…

This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with! I've been off of my medication for over a month because of these people. First they denied my application for "missing proof of income" and when I called to find out what info they need to prove my income besides the W9 that was sent I was told that they couldn't read the W9 and instead of calling me or my doctor who faxed over the application to get it re-faxed, they just sent me a letter denying it. I re-faxed my W9 and didn't hear back so I called again and was told that I was approved but no one sent out my meds so the rep said she put in the order right then. After not receiving my meds I called the next week and they were unable to track where they went so the rep had them sent again. Still no meds so I called again and was told that now all of a sudden the pharmacy needs to confirmed with my doctor that I am indeed supposed to have this medication even though my doctor is the one who sent in the assistance application in the first place. I was put on hold while they called my doctor and was told that they got what they needed and that the medication had been sent expedited. Still no meds so I called again today and after being on hold for an hour and being transferred to a supervisor I was told that the doctor didn't put my name and date of birth on the prescription and that they had to call him again. This is ridiculous! I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy!

I’ve never had to work so hard and so…

I’ve never had to work so hard and so aggressively to advocate for myself. I’ve had a lot of issues with doctors, insurance, etc. But wow, Takeda is corrupt, mismanaged, and grossly negligent. They “lose files”, told me I was approved and then insisted they were missing materials from my application. The representatives I spoke with were rude and not empathetic at all. This is people’s medication. It needs to be handled responsibly and taken seriously. Because of their obscure system, horrible service, and unwillingness to help me, I have gone over a week with out a medication that I need. This is after they told both my doctor and me that I was approved for their program. I’m still trying to get the info I need from them. It’s insulting and frustrating and not okay.
