We had quite a few issues with our buyers and Debbie was excellent at dealing with the difficult lawyers and helped us eventually complete the sale. Very responsive and good communication throughout. Used talbots law to purchase my first property. It took much longer than it needed to, a number of emails were ignored and had to keep calling them for updates as they would go weeks and weeks with no contact. Even when calling it felt like you were an inconvenience. Got it done eventually but wouldn’t recommend.

This is regarding Talbots Law Waterfront, Brierley Hill.
Loathed to give even one star.
Where to start?

The original person, handling the conveyancing of our family home of 65 years, who was responsive, polite and helpful, was removed after 2 weeks of receiving our instruction. No coherent reason was given as to why.

The subsequent conveyancer was inept, unresponsive and incredibly vague in her replies when my questions were eventually answered.

I knew that selling via an LPA and me living in France, this house sale was going to be slightly more involved than normal, however I didn't expect the lack of service, advice and communication from Svetlana and Samuel would be so poor.

I asked how and by who the LPA should be witnessed. I eventually received a reply to my question and was asked to provide the witnessed LPA as outlined by Svetlana, who was now handling our conveyancing. This I did exactly as requested but was informed it wasn't correct. This happened a further 2 times with her saying the LPA wasn't correct even though it was supplied as she had advised!! Infuriating and very stressful to say the least.

I had instructed Talbot Law at the start of May and by the start of August I was still struggling to have the LPA witnessed correctly as their instructions changed each time I supplied the witnessed LPA.
It was as if they didn't want this conveyancing work.

There were other issues with their service and lack of professionalism that I could explain here but it makes me angry just to think about them so I won't go on.

Due to this poor and unprofessional service, causing much stress to my elderly mother and members of the family I stopped using Talbots Law (mid conveyancing) and found another more professional conveyancer.

Needless to say, the house sale went through 4 weeks later without any problems.

Seriously think carefully who you use for conveyancing and I would suggest NOT to use Talbots Law.

Our experience of support and guidance during our house move with Talbot's Law was overall very good.
As we were selling a part ownership property the process was a little more challenging than we expected namely due to the housing association who owned the majority share. However Emma and Katie persistently tackled and navigated everything needed until we finally moved.
