After failing to secure a property earlier in the year due to lender ultimately refusing to lend (no fault of my own) Talbots Law kept my £400+. At the time I let it go as i should have waited until the mortgage was secure 100%

A few months later going for another property, I decided to use Talbots Law again.

I was shocked to find they had no record of me. Therefore had to start all over again with the paperwork. But this time I clearly told them not to do anything until I had the mortgage finalised. It was a clear straightforward instruction that I was just filling the paperwork side of things so everything would be ready to go.

A few months later this second property fell through, again, no fault of my own.

Two weeks later I get a bill from Talbots Law requesting £300.

I am now in dispute with them as apparently they have no record of me instructing them NOT to do anything.

I have since requested phone calls recordings but have been told this is something they cannot provide which i find abysmal.

Even during this debate, the solicitor went cold for a week or so, next i get another email from their credit department demanding payment else interest is going to hit it.

Again i find this very unprofessional to ignore the client during the email chain and suddenly hit with an email from a different department.

I recently used Talbots Solicitors for the purchase of my new build home and was very pleased with the service I received. Very efficient service and very friendly

5 months ago, my partner and I had an offer accepted on a property that has no chain. We were automatically assigned to a solicitor from Talbots Law which we went along with as it seemed like the easiest option for us as FTB. Really wish I had done my research and chose a different solicitor. Our solicitor has been chasing the same enquiries for weeks now and we are making little to no progress. Their communication is poor, replying to emails days after with little to no content, and then no follow-up until we have to chase it. We feel sidelined and disregarded. The solicitor is supposed to be on our side which right now feels the complete opposite. I will not be choosing Talbots in the future.
