From Puglia with love
I am a self-taught person. I studied English at school but I really started learning it when I was sharing a room with an Irish guy a long time ago.
All this to say that when I first started the TEFL course I wasn't sure I would eventually achieve the goal of becoming an English teacher, but then I found out the course structure was quite simple, a way to build knowledge progressively from foundational grammar and methodology into more specific scenarios like teaching large and online classes.
In the time I attended the course I always felt guided by hand in my path. I set my own pace, learned a lot more than I knew about grammar and always felt engaged in the process.
Every section of the course is clearly explained both with well produced video-tutorials and more specific explanations which gave me all the tools I needed to better comprehend the challenge of teaching English to other people.
Also multiple-choice quizzes gave me a way to better recap what I was studying and final assessments the opportunity to critically think about the planning of a real English lesson.
In the end it's been a valuable learning experience and I would recommend it to all those people who are looking to become English teachers. The TEFL method can help in doing so.
Thank you for your attention.

A challenging yet convenient platform.
A challenging yet convenient educational curriculum. The courses introduced me to teaching English as a foreign language, and also provided the knowledge and skills that make me feel like I already have the experience to lead a class and effectively teach students.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It was very well structured and very concise. I enjoyed every second and learned so much. My tutor Stephen was exceptional and came back quickly with helpful feedback. I felt sad when I finished the course. It’s given me a new lease of life to pursue a career in TEFL.

You will 100% need a teaching degree
Unless you already have a teaching degree you are not very likely to find any gainful employment be it in person or online. However with only the TEFL certificate you will be eligible for non paid volunteer positions. I relocated to Asia and needing employment I thought the TEFL certification program was a great way to go but unfortunately it was not.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear your job search hasn't been what you were hoping for, but we'd be happy to help you explore opportunities that may be a better fit.
A TEFL certificate can certainly open doors, but job requirements vary depending on the country, employer, and whether you're looking for online or classroom-based teaching. While some countries require both a degree and a TEFL certificate for visa purposes, many of our graduates have successfully found paid teaching roles using their TEFL qualification without holding a degree.
If you get in touch with our Customer Service team, we'd be happy to offer guidance on countries and employers that are more accessible to teachers without a degree, helping you find the best route into paid TEFL work.
Warm regards,

Overall the course was great, with some caveats
Overall the course was great, even though sometimes it temporarily left me a little confused when a term or topic was mentioned but only covered in a later module.
My tutor was very helpful and provided useful feedback to my assignments.
That said, I was very disappointed in your apparent ageism; I looked into booking the Chiang Mai in-person courses and the paid internship, the latter limited to max 50 years old as well as UK, US and some other English country based passports. Needless to say I didn't book either of those.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the course overall and found your tutor’s support and assignment feedback helpful.
We understand that working through new terminology can sometimes feel challenging, and we appreciate your patience as you worked through the course.
We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding some internship opportunities. We understand why this would have been frustrating, and we appreciate you sharing. Some programmes and placements have specific eligibility criteria set by the organisations involved, which can include factors such as visa requirements, local regulations, or placement provider policies. These criteria are not a reflection of the value or ability of our graduates.
We wish you every success with your TEFL journey and hope the skills and qualification you gained from the course open up many opportunities for you.

A highly rewarding course
A highly rewarding course, which I missed doing when I had finished. Found the theory of the English language a little dry, and subsequent modules on how to teach were very satisfying for me, with lots of transferable skills learned. I took advantage of an offer code, and recommend anyone interested in teaching to do this course. It has opened up a world of opportunities for my ambition to leave the UK and work overseas.

I found the work engaging and pretty much everything to be useful. Critical thinking was encouraged and course materials were helpful.
Good value for the cost, and very helpful feedback from instructors.
Take note however that the some assignments and quizzes may vary wildly in needed time and effort.

Go elsewhere for your TEFL studies.
I paid my money. I studied for many months. I went to pay the extra amount to extend my study time. I was then told, that they wanted more money on top of the extension money. I declined, so they dismissed all the hours I put into the course. Sad to see a gross lack if integrity.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear about your experience.
From what you've described, we're not sure this relates to a course with The TEFL Org, as this isn't how our courses work. We don't delete active coursework, and if a student extends their course access, they can continue from exactly where they left off without losing any of their completed work.
It's possible you may be referring to another course provider. Please get in touch with our team, and we'll check to see if you have an account with us, we will then do everything we can to help you further.

Got the 120-TEFL course in just 3 weeks…
Got the 120-TEFL course in just 3 weeks as I was excited for the opportunity. Then, I applied to dozens of schools (private, public), academies, private tutoring, online tutoring and every position mentioning ESL/ESOL/EFL and got nothing. Didn’t get even a single call for interview whether in gulf countries, far east, or even the US.
Just a big waste of time for non-native speakers

Thank you for sharing - we are sorry to hear that your search has been difficult.
Here’s a short, clear reply that covers both points:
Thank you for your review. In most cases, employers will only consider applications once the course is fully completed and the certificate is issued, as it’s part of their eligibility checks. It’s also worth noting that some countries and employers have strict nationality or visa requirements, which can limit who they’re able to hire.
If you’d like support with your job search once certified, we’re here to help.
Kind regards,

My Third Advanced Course
This was the third advanced course I've completed. It was outstanding just like the others I have taken. As a teacher for over thirty years, I can tell you that so many online courses lack appropriate objectives, content, and structure. In addition, they are boring and irrelevant. TEFL.org has found the perfect method for developing online courses. They are all equally balanced with theory and practice and can be successfully applied to lesson plans. The course I just completed, Teaching English for Academic Purposes, has given me so many suggestions to assist my students. Great practical applications! Another point I would like to make is that the assignments are so well thought out. I have actually looked forward to completing them because I have learned so much from doing them and they can be used in the classroom or online. As always, I so appreciate the valuable feedback and constructive suggestions from my tutor, Thomas, pertaining to my assignments. I will probably take another advanced course in the future because I find each one an invaluable resource!

Overall Great Experience
I did the 250 hour TEFL course as well as their online teaching practice course and both were great! the 250 hour course is really good for anyone who doesn't have a lot of teaching experience, and on top of that the online teaching practice provided me with a bit of a confidence boost. Richard was our course teacher and was very helpful and kind through the three day teaching practice.
