Tenpin - Dewsbury Avis 

Kids had a great time, all played well together and joined in the extra activities

Everything was done quickly and efficiently from checking us in and we're to go. The only thing was the music it was far too loud.

We had our son's birthday party at Tenpin Dewsbury. It cost over £250 and several parents also bought drinks. The event itself went smoothly although the bowling area was a little congested as other parties were taking place at the same time.

When we got home we found we had a present and card for another child. It had been left amongst the presents for our son. It contained some cash so my wife felt obliged to return it to Tenpin Dewsbury the following day.

My wife failed to enter the reg number of her car into the terminal when she returned. She was too focussed on finding a member of staff to explain what had happened. She left the car park within 13 minutes.

A few days later we received a parking ticket through the post from Parking Eye. This meant another visit to Tenpin Dewsbury to complain and to ask for the parking charge to be cancelled. This was for £100 (but reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days). We were told to send an email asking for cancellation which we did.

Unfortunately, this did not lead to cancellation but rather a second letter offering to reduce the parking charge to £20. My email to Tenpin Dewsbury complaining about this has been ignored so I'm not very impressed with them.

Overall, we are very unhappy about our experience relating to the parking arrangements at Tenpin Dewsbury and would strongly recommend avoiding the venue to avoid the hassle we have experienced. They received hundreds of pounds from us. We received a very nasty aftertaste and great inconvenience from them.

Went with son to play pool and there were some teenagers in who clearly had no money and we're there to just cause trouble and vandalize. They were climbing on the pool tables and throwing cues around. I did nothing at first and watched the staff who basically ignored them and said nothing. My son who is autistic was getting upset and anxious and so I decided to tell them to get off the tables before they damaged them. They then got down but still carried on throwing stuff around. Just as they were abouts to leave they threw a bottle of water and hit my son. I chased them out of there and went to the counter to tell the staff who didn't seem to be very apologetic. This is how places end up shutting down because people will stop going when it becomes a hang out for the local thugs and trouble makers. They have had security on previous occasions but there was no security on this day. I just feel that staff could have said Something to them.

Booked for 10 people online for 1 lane on arrival was told have to have 2 lanes until manager came an sort out 1 land. Then was told we don't all have e the appropriate footwear on so an ha e to wear bowling shoes asked for socks which they do t sell. So had to go out an buy socks. Finally started the game an to see an realise other people with wrong footwear on went to speak to the guy who insisted we had to wear bowling shoes told him.an his response was "I'm aware they have the wrong shoes" he wasent even bother just stood there with a grin on his face. even tho I said to him how come we had to change our shoes delayed our game so 1 rule for 1 another absolutely disgusting as we had kids with us had to go throw the headache where as other where allowed on!!!!STAFF NEED PROPER TRAINING DEWSBURY BRANCH

We had a great time, bowling then an hour of pool !

Not the best experience, rude staff when I bought tickets. Great customer service on the bar .

We attended with our Year 6 class as a school outing and they all had a wonderful experience. Accommodating and cheerful staff. Very pleasant interactions.

Nice and straightforward to get set up (we went bowling as a family) The venue was clean and nicely lit with plenty things to do! Reception staff were present and a tablet to put in car parking details. Kids are excited to return to try laser tag next! We booked online and it was straightforward to choose and book.

We had our football presentation night this evening. 2 games of bowling and food. What a brilliant evening, thank you to all the staff they were very helpful and accommodating ❤️

I took 3 grandchildren in the school holiday - they loved it and so did I. The 2 lady staff members were excellent and the atmosphere was great

paid for bowling with family never asked to sign car reg got a fine for £100 said pay now £60 gave proof we where bowling then dropped fine to £20 this is a joke a family day out turned into stress never going there again i would advise going else where .

First time going here and wasn’t disappointed, really jazzy place with lots to do, and I was really impressed with the service the manager, Tammy, hope Iv got that right, she was spot on, very rare we meet nice people, Tammy was definitely one of those people who left a really good impression. Already planning the next visit 🙌

Had a nice afternoon out with my wife and 2 children. Whilst the venue itself was great fun the staff (not all) were quite rude and unhelpful. Especially when they don't give you a simple reminder or nudge to make sure you enter your car registration plate on entry as you can be fined if you do not prove that you are a Tenpin customer upon parking. Whilst there are signs about these are not clear and will only work if people of looking out for them. A simple mention of this important process upon arrival from the reception staff will improve customer service. That along with a smile

Visited as a paying customer with my children for under an hour and received a £100 Parking Charge Notice from ParkingEye. The signage at Tenpin Dewsbury is the problem — large “Patrons Only” headline with the actual instruction to register your reg buried in tiny print. Scroll the reviews online and local groups and you’ll see this is happening to customer after customer.

The visit itself wasn’t much better. Venue almost empty on a Saturday night, music blasting at an absurd volume. And the reception experience says it all. Staff were clueless — took them 5 minutes to find my online booking, didn’t confirm it before I walked off, and at no point did anyone mention that number plates need to be logged. A single sentence at check-in would prevent every one of these charges. The fact that it isn’t said genuinely feels deliberate.

When I raised it with the centre, the response was effectively “nothing to do with us, take it up with ParkingEye.” But ParkingEye don’t just appear out of thin air — Tenpin are the tenant/landowner who appointed them. The land, the signs, the contract and the customers are all theirs. You can’t outsource a scheme on your own premises and then wash your hands of it when paying customers get caught out. Constructive feedback about the signage was completely ignored.

Save your money and your stress. There are plenty of family venues that won’t punish paying customers and that actually care about their experience. A real shame — the place is newly built with potential — but until the predatory parking setup and poor service are fixed, I can’t recommend this to anyone.

My kids had their birthday party in that place and it’s was amazing! I highly recommend!
