Don't know how well they clean gutters because they don't turn up... twice. Same day service? You'll be lucky. At first they said same day but then cancelled. 4 days later they were going to turn up in the morning but never made it by 5pm despite me ringing them and being told they would. No cancellation. No rescheduling. No apology. Nothing. 0 out of 10. Going to try the Romanian guy my workmate uses for half the money... but as we speak the blocked gutter remains blocked.

This is the worst company I have had the misfortune to get involved with. They take your money tell you someone will be with you at 5pm then contact you 5 minutes before to tell you they are cancelling the appointment and someone will attend in 3 weeks. This company refuse to give you your money back, customer service in nonexistent. You have been warned use this company at your peril.

DISGRACEFUL!!! Called at 1:30pm due to a burst kitchen pipe as was unable to turn of the internal stop tap - explained this in detail on the phone - I was assured at the time of the call that the plumber would be able to get it sorted today and would be with me by 5pm, and that he would call when on route to me. At 5:15pm, I had heard nothing so called them again for an update to be told that the plumber would now be with me at some point tomorrow as had run out of time for today. Absolutely atrocious service and absolutely no communication to advise that they would not be attending. The guy on the end of the phone couldn't care less if he tried.

AVOID, AVOID AVOID
Called up to ask for a service, the agent kept shouting at me over the phone, very rude, and then hung up,
If there was a zero rating would give that.

This company also operates under The Local Plumbers.
The tradesman who did the shed roofing job I had requested and the work he did cannot be held to fault - the job was very well done and thorough.
The poor score is due to the estimate compared to the cost. I was led to believe that hourly rate would be £49.50 an hour but paid for a full hour anything over 1/2 hour and that the job would take approximately 2 1/2 hours, plus materials and VAT. On arriving the tradesman was not aware that he would need to supply materials so had to go to a retail store to buy them, then went on to take 4 1/2 hours at a rate of £49.50 per 1/2 hour - a job that I thought was going to cost around £400 turned into a job costing over £800 and probably more than a new shed would have cost.

I am so disappointed with this service as the website showed lots of positive reviews I was expecting it to be something I could trust and rely on. Absolutely shocking customer service, I had asked to have various jobs done but they only sent a plumber who was two hours late! While waiting for the handyman to arrive I called them up to find out where he was and was put on hold for over 5 minutes. The plumber then arrived had no idea about the other jobs I wanted doing and then took an unexpected long time to fit 3 taps which then cost me just under £300! Absolutely disgusted with this, what a rip off!! Don’t use this service!

Arrived over 30 mins late. By that point had done the job myself. At least the man who arrived was nice to me about it. Call centre let me down, kept putting me on hold and didn't track my man down. Overall I'm glad I've saved the money as they're an expensive company and I won't be using them again.

Don't use this site. They will quote you an extortionate amount per half hour on the phone. I was told to expect work to take about an hour, for a small leak in the bathroom. They don't send out their own people which I found misleading from the website. The work took far longer than I was told to expect and was not completed, I was told later by a trusted plumber that it actually made things worse. With a dismantled bathroom their plumber said he would come back in two days but I had to pay on the spot - nearly £800. Due to the state of the works done I renegotiated with the plumber as he was an independent. Don't even bother to complain to The Local Repairman, they will accept absolutely no responsibility for sending this person to your house. If you persist they will pass you to their "heavy" which will end in an argument. If you need a plumber go on Check a Trade and find someone with good reviews, the job will be done properly and at a reasonable price.

I felt like I had been ripped off. I was told £49.50 per half hour and the job would take about 1.5 hours, I was also told the carpenter would have materials with him.
I was not expecting to pay the builder to go off to the builders merchants for a piece of batten to put up a curtain rail.
I was charged £295.50 for someone to put up a piece of batten and then attach the curtain rail to it.
The reviews I read on the website were all good so I never expected to be ripped off in this way.
My advice NEVER use this company.

Had some blocked drains this week. Someone was supposed to come the same day, but didn't come until the next day. Was expecting it to cost £70, but when the guy arrived was informed that using his equipment was an extra £60 PER HALF HOUR (seemed like a hose end to add onto my own hose). Then also found out at the end that the initial £70 quote was PER HALF HOUR. So just over an hour and more than £300 lighter felt pretty mislead.

On the 1.2.2021 I asked this company to repair a gutter and then clean out the gutters. I was pretty sure that the work wouldn't take more that an hour so agreed to pay for one hour. The gutter was fixed by drilling the gutter and screwing it to the facia board. The gutter was cleaned out on one side of the bungalow and part of the gutter over the conservatory. He claimed he couldn't reach the rest. The rest of the gutter was left untouched as he had run out of time. Even with a pensioners discount the cost was still £112 which I thought was a bit steep for
putting one screw in and cleaning nearly two gutters.
