I had an issue with a customer who owed me money. This person took all information about themselves off all social media platforms and I assume paid to keep themselves off the open electoral roll. This person had online business presence but the business address and landline were both false. This person seemed to disappear from 2017 from all the search engines I could find online so after many frustrating hours over several days I decided to use UKPI. I filled in a very simple form at 11.48am and had all the information I required at 5.33pm the same day. I would certainly recommend this company for their professionalism, speed of results and in my opinion a fair price. I would certainly use this company again and highly recommend.

Where other agents have failed, Tim's company managed to dig deep and come up with a successful address match within hours. Other agencies have taken months without results. I acknowledge your response but stand by my original review, which reflects my personal experience. Trustpilot has reviewed and confirmed that my comments comply with their guidelines and are not defamatory.

I found the personal remarks in your reply, such as ‘Some people just want to see the world burn,’ to be unprofessional and not conducive to constructive dialogue.

Despite my providing comprehensive information upfront, the report you delivered lacked new insights and did not meet the expectations set during our initial discussions.

To clarify, at no point did I request or expect UKPI to engage in illegal activities, including unauthorised access to private social media accounts. My request was for a comprehensive background check using publicly available sources. Any suggestion to the contrary misrepresents my intentions.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively and leads to improvements in your service delivery.

My original feedback:

I paid £315 to UK Private Investigators for an Enhanced Background Check, which they advertised as including current address, employment history, social media presence, and professional capabilities. I provided them with a comprehensive verbal briefing, a background pack up front, including Companies House data, known addresses, and context. I even did a follow up call with them to highlight my specific request for social media investigation.
The report I received was late, padded, and regurgitated my own material — with no meaningful analysis or new information. It failed to verify employment, listed my own property as the subject’s “current address” (despite the person having vacated it), and missed a company I had already flagged. It included no social media content or digital footprint work.
When I raised concerns, I received an aggressive and dismissive legal-style email claiming all expectations were “irrelevant in law” and trying to reframe this as mere “disappointment.” No refund was offered, just vague promises of more unspecified checks.
Upon researching further, I discovered that other clients have reported similar issues with this firm, including unprofessional conduct and failure to deliver promised services. These patterns suggest that my experience was not an isolated incident.

I received outstanding service, with same-day results and exactly what I requested. Tim is excellent, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I am delighted with the service and would gladly recommend UKPI to others. Additionally, their prices are far more competitive than others. I’m so pleased I chose UKPI.

In the past, I had used two other companies, Stonebridge Investigations and Rosewood Investigations. Both made numerous promises, charged three times the amount, and only after several weeks of waiting and me following up multiple times, did they finally provide a report that was ultimately useless, at best, a basic online search, filled mainly with information I provided and their T&C's, lesson definitely learnt.

Excellent and quick service in just few hours by Tim. Words are not enough to express my gratitude. They are very sincere and committed, Punctual and excellent service with return calls.
