Absolutely horrendous service when…
Absolutely horrendous service when trying to cancel a subscription that we have had for 5 years. Funnily enough the 'billing' page won't load at all and after an hour chatting to the chat window guy, he just said 'I can't cancel it for you'.... total waste of time.

Terrible service (currently)
We’ve been with Vend for multiple locations for several years. Never has customer service Failed as miserably as it has at this point.
Inventory control and the ability to pull useful reports to audit stock if you have multiple branches is non existent. Doing inventory counts works fine if your stock room is the size of a closet so you can count, verify and make system changes the same day. Most reasonable sized businesses cannot.
Vend please save the BS customer service response on here. We had a call set up and never heard from anyone.
I must say the first few years and sales reports were/are quite good but seems there’s been no concerted effort at development in certain critical areas over the past couple years, and now customer service sucks. For what we pay per year it’s absolutely mind boggling!

Slow customer service and bugged system
Their customer service is slow but helpful. It seems like they're understaffed. There are a lot of bugs in their EPOS system which they haven't fixed, yet keep bringing out unnecessary 'upgrades' like the new product adding feature that actually slows down the process. We went with Vend which was suggested by StoreKit, I wouldn't recommend them earlier as they also have slow customer service.

The support team takes ages to reply
The support team takes ages to reply. Instead of one hour as they promise, it's ALWAYS 1 day or more, sometimes weeks.
Vend is horrible to use at the moment due to some bugs. You can't import products anymore without it giving you an error message totally unfounded, and also you can't create Composite products too.
For those wondering whether they should buy Vend, I tell you, DON'T! It's a total waste of money and time.

Actual system works ok , small bugs can take some time to get fixed bt as I said the level of support is totally terrible, for £89 a month you're on your own.

Easy to use and the reporting available is quite good.
I would like to see a feature added where we can have a running total /invoice open for a customer for the entire month but have the items come off of stock and give a sales figure every week.

No Warning for Unsaved Changes
A significant issue that surely can be a quick fix for Vend is the absence of a Warning when you are leaving a page without Saved Changes. This is particularly a problem when a page disappears when you are working on it. I have lost count of how much work I have lost in Vend when a page shuts down without Saved Changes. Insanely frustrating.

Its user friendly but that's about it
Its user friendly but that's about it. I am constantly having to review reports and cross reference these with my own spreadsheets to get accurate figures. The system is designed for retail clothing trade and not retail liquor where we have multiple SKUS related to 1 product (eg 1 case of beer has 3 SKUs ) unlike retail clothing that would have 1 SKU per Item
There are floors in the reporting also which require constant manual checking particularly when setting up products. I suggest using a GP app or build a GP spreadsheet to get your desired COGS / GP as Vend uses mark up % which in 25 years of management I have never reported in mark up but rather in GP or COGS
I think the cost is comparable with other more suited POS out there and will be moving at the end my 12 month subscription

I cant express the amount of time that their promotion has not worked, hours just waiting for someone to answer, cant stand speaking to them they are no help! when operating a retail shop the second something doesn't work it needs to be fix that moment, well, when you wait a day to speak to someone it dose not help. I follow the steps that thy tell me to do and still no fix, just the issue is that when you respond back they take another day.
The reporting is off.. and many glichest in the system when counting inventory , for small business is ok, but when you are a large enterprise, find a company that will provide you with support.
I spend hours trying to figure out the bugs on vend, I just want to pick up the phone and get help, but Instead I have to wait for a day to figure something out, and this happens every day!

Vend is great!
Vend is very customizable and adaptable to suit a range of business types and models. There are a lot of great working features including generating specific reports and creating product variables and more. While there is still some room for expanding and tuning some features it is definitely a standout for POS solutions and the fact that they are constantly improving and adding to it to improve it is fantastic.

Good POS. Everything else is pretty poor.
The POS is good. As far as inventory management goes, it's considerably inferior to the likes of Dear, Quickbooks Commerce, Unleashed, etc. Yes, it's cheaper, but that's the cost I guess. Support is slow to respond and seriously lack a sense of urgency.
